Idk about you guys but what style of play can EVER hope to prosper in this metagame ?

The item Aiming mark makes Rapid Spin unblockable so stall suffers. It also means on the flip side offense cant use immunitys to switch in so offense suffers, not to mention T-wave hitting ground types. :/ And if SR isnt in this game all playstyles suffer lol x.x

The only thing i can even see working is weather spam and a metagame centralized around weather (I mean just look at all the weather based abilities). That isnt very healthy honestly lol.

Hopefully, Smogon will ban Aiming Mark. Even if they're planning not to ban much, it seems overpowering enough for a ban in my opinion.

Speculation is so fun! I missed out on it since I was a few months late for DP but I'm having fun guessing about what will happen haha. I really like how Salamence has a cool sprite...it looks a lot like its official art.

I've been looking through the threads for UU Pokemon on Smogon, and I have to say a lot of them could break out of UU from what I see. Of course, the OU Pokemon probably got upgrades too so you never know...I plan on playing mostly UU this gen so I'm looking forward to seeing the tiers get themselves together.

I also wonder about the fate of the banned Pokemon like Garchomp and Salamence (and even Manaphy & Latias), with this Dream World stuff you never know what will happen.

Sturdy could definitely help the old physical walls, especially the Spikers against teams that don't pack a Rapid Spinner or durable Taunt user. Two layers of Spikes is deadly.

I would talk about the new Pokemon but their names all look so similar that I will really need a translation before I can coherently discuss them lol.

I'll be paying attention to the competitive metagame this generation but I don't plan on actively participating. Mainly because of my computer being incapable of running Shoddy but I also prefer smashing NPCs around in game where I know I'm always guaranteed a win. ^-~

I just noticed Dugtrio gets Sand Power from the Dream World. That means its Ground-, Rock- and Steel-type moves are increased in power in sandstorm. Tauros with Encourage too! Too bad Azumarrill can't have Huge Power and Herbivore on the same set.

I'm hoping some of you noticed that Gyarados gets Overconfidence this gen, and Farfetch'd gets Competitive Spirit, which boosts attack 2 stages when attack is decreased.
What is this, them giving Farfetch'd something useful?

Just found an encounter code, and now I'm doing in-depth testing of various move and ability changes.

Defog does indeed remove hazards from both sides of the field.

This generation is a sad day for stall. An amusing day for gimmicks. An epic day for heavy offense.

Going to continue to play stall anyways.

I love how Sun teams are sort of viable now thanks to Ninetales. I'm angry about Politoed though. Rain teams were already amazing.

*EDIT* Alright, I'm angry. Not only did they troll Entei by giving him Flash Fire, but now Arcanine gets Close Combat. What the hell.
