Discuss your thoughts about the double typing!

I think that Chaoboo and Emboar shouldn't be fire/fighting. I think they should be plain Fire.

Dewott and Samurott should be Water/fighting (seriously, Samurott is Samurai + Otter. No fighting type?)

Servine and Serperior should be maybe Grass/dragon?

Also i think Deerling and Sawsbuck should change types according to season:
    Summer - Fire
    Autumn: Grass
    Winter: Ice
    Spring: Normal

    What do you think?

Grass/Dragon would be too overpowered for a starter unless they added an Ice secondary as well. And Oshawott's evolutions should have been Water/Fighting and Tepig's evolutions should have been just Fire.

I would've liked it if Samurott was Water/Fighting and Emboar to be Fire/Dark. I don't get why GF decided not to do that.

So... we're discussing thoughts of types as a whole? Kay.

    Well, I agree with mentioned about Deerling, but I think fire/fighting does suit Emboar's line. Pignite, especially, looks like a fighter, or a sumo wrestler, so by it being a fighting type it actually makes sense. As for Oshawott's, yeah would've been better as ice type but whatever. ;__;

One typing that should've been different though was Keldeo. I honestly don't get how water fits into its typing and should've stayed fighting, or at least got normal as a secondary typing at least. :x

Serperior would never be Grass/Dragon, because there will never be Dragon/??? Starters simply because it would be OP.

I do agree with Tepig's evolutions being F/F even though people whined at the thought of more Fire/Fighting starters...

I say Oshawott should have evolved to Water/Steel too...
I don't think there is ever going to be a Grass/Dragon starter...
Really? Water steel? Hmmm, looks more water/fighting to me.
Grass/dragon would only happen, imo, if the other two types were able to balance it out. Serperior would have been a great grass/dragon.

The two alien things, Elgyem and Beeheyem just scream "Rock type" at me for some reason.

I think Accelgor should be Bug/Ghost or maybe Bug/Dark. I thought it was a ghost pokemon until I saw its page on Serebii. To me, it looks like it's about to do Dark Pulse or Shadow Ball.

Kerudio can cross water though by ejecting water from it's hooves, appears at beautiful watersides, and runs through the oceans and rivers ;)

So I think water suits it quite well :) Plus it's body is blue too.

Deerling changing type would be very nice. All the Formes would still be part Normal-type, with only the secondary type changing. Normal/Fire and Normal/Grass would be very nice. I think Spring Forme could be Normal/Water though, due to the frequency of rainfall.

And Daikenki should definitely have been Water/Fighting. Makes much more sense than a circular humanoid tadpole, at least.

Cofagrigus should've been Ghost/Ground or Rock. It lives in the desert,

    Agreed.

    Double Typing?

Why do people keep on saying that a Dragon-type starter would be overpowered? It would already have a 4x weakness to Ice-type and 2x weakness to Dragon, Flying, Bug, and Poison-types. Emboar can always Poison Jab it and Daikenki can use several Ice-type moves against it. Emboar could also unexpectedly learn Ice Punch (hey, if limbless ball ghosts can learn punching attacks, Emboar can learn ice moves! And hey, it can already learn Boiling Water, a feat no other Fire-type Pokemon can do...)

Game Freak can also nerf the stats and/or movesets of a Grass/Dragon Jaroda if needed to give other Pokemon a fighting chance. And we've already had a Steel-type starter, which only lets Grass-type moves hit for neutral damage. Not only is Torterra weak to Empoleon's Ice-type moves, it's also forced to rely on its secondary Ground-type to deal super-effective damage. Last time I checked, Ground-type was not part of the standard "Fire/Water/Grass" triangle. So yeah, a part-Dragon-type starter Pokemon is totally valid, as long as necessary precautions are taken to put said starter on equal footing with its counterparts.

If we are talking about all new dual types in general, lets go to some of the weird ones!
    Like the new ghosties!
    Double Typing?
Ghost/Water makes for an extremely annoying type combination. It is immune/resists all priority moves, and checks a lot of once powerful sweepers. Plus, he is also very defensive stat-wise.
    Double Typing?
Ghost/Fire, another interesting typing! Very good attacker, though is dominated by Tyranitar. D:

    Double Typing?
Ghost/Ground, really doesn't fit what he is. He's like a big giant robot megazord thing, he should be Ghost/Steel, which would be an epic typing! Though, his does grant him three useful immunities. :3

Kinda... but kinda not agreed. Yeah sure they look bubbly, but whether they learn any water moves is kinda important imo. If they wanted a bubbly design, they could've made a Pokemon based on that, whereas these three have a deeper meaning behind their creation (if that makes sense?)

These are definitely my favorites of the newly introduced double typings this gen. People have been asking for a Ghost/Fire type since forever, so naturally it's great to finally see one.

As for ones that shouldn't or should have been... Emboar really could have been something else. I must say that when I heard it was yet again another Fire/Fighting type, it pissed me off. I've made my peace with it now though, but another typing would have been greatly welcomed. As for Oshawutt's final evolution, a secondary Steel or even Fighting (with the whole samurai type thing going on) would have been great.
