  • Not one to brag, but come next July I'll be at around 10-12 per hour and have a plethora of benfits like free flu shots to dental and 401k, etc.

  • Not one to brag, but I make around $16-18 an hour after taxes (not really sure how much.) and I have a good amount of my benefits taken care of. ;D

Oh I guess when I'm a student that kind of stuff doesn't really matter to me, besides where I work is always free to all students for everything so they can't really give us much of a discount :x

I would pass on the free flu shots. XD
Do you have medical insurance and stuff now? Or any benefits at all? Or do you just make an hourly wage right now?

If I decided to get them, I could. But I'm all covered via Mommy and Daddy's nice policies like my 0 dollar co-pay and stuff until like, 26 or whatever it is these days.

    Most Impressive.

I can't get a flu shot so I have to get the stupid nose mist which I was told burns your nose.

But it can't be much worse than getting a cue-tip shoved up my nose extremely far when I was tested for swine flu.

  • Flu shots are pointless. They don't even keep you from getting the flu, and they're based on last year's strain of flu. I'd rather have the flu than get the shot. XD

And that swine flu test sounds awwwwwful. Getting your throat swabbed for strep and stuff is bad enough, but having one stuck all the way up your nose just sounds kjgnljfngfs.

  • Yeah. They shove it super far in and it like makes your head hurt and stuff.

But having the actual swine flu was 1,000,000 times worse. I pretty much woke up with the worse migraine I had ever had (which is really bad) felt like absolute crap my body ached all over and my dad was going to make me go to school. >_> But I didn't and I went to get tested. My dad said I'd have to go back the next day which would be absolutely crazy. My doctor told me I was quarantined for a week though.

But it made me miss 5 days of school so I didn't get to go to something called a star party and missed out on an awesome rollerblading trip at the end of the year.

    .

    I CAN TESTIFY TO THIS
Swine flu was a prick of a disease to have, to say the lest. I was sick for about a week and quarantined in my room for about two weeks. Needless to say, I hated every moment of it.

  • I'd never consider getting a flu shot, let alone any kind of shot. I.Do.Not.Like.Needles.
Me neither. I avoid getting needles unless I absolutely have to. The only shots I ever get are if they're required for school or something.

  • Eh they feel like a slight prick and there done just as soon as they get started. I'd rather get shot then give blood. I remember seeing some of my class mates arms after they were pricked from the blood drive not a pretty sight.

Must have had it worse than me.

    Some kid came back to school, never got diagnosed but said he had it and came back Monday when he got it during the weekend. I happened to sit by him ;;

I don't mind needles but I don't go out of my way to get them. tbh at school I acted brave with them because everyone else was afraid, totally showed them!

I've only had one injection in my life iirc, I think it was for meningitis or something.

My sister is nearly the 'hold me down cause I won't get one willingly' type at 20, so I always go out of my way to be brave when I'm around her. xD But needles are kinda scary, I remember crying the first time I had to have blood taken for a surgery lol.

  • Having grown up the child of a diabetic, I am used to being poked with medical devices to take blood samples and whatnot, since my parents would occasionally test me to see if I had developed some form of diabetes. I couldn't inject myself with needles, though, I don't trust myself enough with them to do it right, haha.
