Blue: Always has the same team since the start of the game. Thus he's pretty predictable & easy to take down.

Lance: Got a sweeper with an Ice attack? There goes at least half of his team.

Wallace: Never fought him, as I've never got to completing Emerald, but with my past times fighting him, I'm sure a Sceptile & an Electabuzz would have a field day with him.

Steven: He's got the typing that's made for tanking damage, but not if it's from fire & fighting moves. & since most of his team is slower than molasses, one can pretty much go through unscathed.

Cynthia: Now we're getting somewhere. She's got one of the best teams of any champion. The player needs both a powerful & fast pokémon with an Ice-type move, & an electric-type that specializes in physical attacks. Otherwise, the player will be in for a wild ride. Thankfully, I've got both of those, & once both of those are taken care of, the rest of her team falls apart.

As for Alder, I never got anywhere close to fighting him, as I got so bored with B/W's lack of a post-story that I just didn't care going through the E4 again.

  • Blue: First time fighting him, I didn't expect it, but I barely lost. Afterwards, I swept him 6-0. Balanced team, but not hard to beat.
Lance: First time, all I needed was my Milotic to spam Thunderbolt and Ice Beam. Afterwards, nothing changed.
Steven: First time, screw you, buddy. Afterwards, Blaziken. That is all.
Wallace: First time, Sceptile and Milotic. Afterwards, Sceptile and Milotic. He's that bad.
Cynthia: To this day, I still dread going against her. Ironic how the best champion is the only female champion. PS, I was using Milotic before you existed.
Alder: I was so disappointed when N beat you first. But I can see how he did it. Only one of your Pokemon does anything. Thanks for ruining the nearly non-existant post-game, Alder.
    So, in order...
    1. Cynthia
    2. Steven
    3. Blue
    4. Lance
    5. Both Alder and Wallace tie for last. I hate you both, because Wallace ruined Emerald, and Alder ruined Post-B/W.

God, Cynthia was the hardest. Her team was very balanced and her Garchomp actually took down two of my Pokemon. I lacked an Ice/Dragon-type move, so it took a few sacrifices, but I got it done. Her Milotic had a bit of blood on its... flippers as well.

I'm another that says "Cynthia." Her Pokemon team wiped out mine completely when I first challenged her. (Though maybe that's because my team had a weakness to Ground-types.) It took a bit of grinding to get my team ready to beat hers, and even after raising my team's levels, there was still some problems.

Lace is a horrible person. Him and those Dragonite. Ridiculous. Wallace is in second, always. Always. That Gyarados, Tentecruel, AND Milotic he has are all very ridiculous Pokemon. Way too strong.

Cynthia was the only champion I had any difficulty beating.

  • Cynthia, easily. I actually didn't have much trouble with her Garchomp, having one of my own and a Lumineon with Ice Beam, but her Spiritomb gave me fits, especially after the usual Full Restore one I got its HP down.

  • Lance, in SS. I actually had to soft reset a couple times, which rarely happens to me. I didn't bring enough items, which is often my downfall at the E4.

Cynthia was second, she wasnt that hard when I beat her but strangely even when I went back later postgame with my Level 100 Empoleon she was a challenge. Her types were diverse, and plus she was the only person that had a Milotic XD I remember being confused by the fact that it knew surf, I thought NPC's didn't have surf...to be honest I got lucky with her Garchomp, I had a sash thing that works like sturdy, otherwise it would have PWNED me.

I would have to say that Ghetsis was the hardest for me. Now, I know he technically isn't the champion, but he is the last battle in the main game, so I still count him. Unlike Cynthia, you can't just blow through his dragon with a single Ice Beam, and the rest of his team is pretty defensive and annoying to kill.

If I had to go with an actual champion, I would probably go with Cynthia. If you let Garchomp get in a hit, it will probably 0HKO whatever you have out, and the rest of her team is no walk in the park either.

I never actually lost against Blue. I was pretty dumb when I was 5, but the AI was somehow even dumber, and decided to just give me the win by making stupid moves. Lance is pathetic if you have an Ice type, but he's actually a decent challenge if you don't. Steven and Wallace both have a lot of weaknesses you can exploit.

...was Cynthia even in Pearl? lool, I don't remember her. ;; UM, however, I choose Alder mainly because his Volcarona is crazy strong. Lance with dragons? Pfft easy if you had the right Pokemon to face them! As for gen 1/3's I can't even remember. :(

  • for me it's blue, because it took me like 5 times to beat the guy until I won, the other guys well I just blow through them without having problems... well I lost to cynthia 3 times but Blue still takes the cake

Well, this is a tough one.

Lance was a pain because I had no access to any kind of ice attacks; eventually wiped all the dragonites out w/ my over-leveled typhlosion. (I'm talking about pokemon crystal, where the only ice attack I could get was ice punch and the 7th badge TM)

Steven was also tough; I can still remember the time when my Swampert didn't have any Earthquake or Surf left, so struggled with Strength with Metagross (which was Steven's last pokemon). Eventually, I gave up and beat him on the next try.

Still, I guess Cynthia was the hardest for me, especially on Pokemon pearl. It was a great challenge, with her level 66 (really?! 66?!!) Garchomp and all the others. Also, my whole team was so underleveled, none of them were over level 50. Eventually, I beat her, but it was a great challenge for me.

Cynthia's Milotic was the hardest Pokémon I've had to beat in any Pokémon League so far. This is because i had trained my team evenly so that they were all between Lv. 49-52. I had run out of electrical and grass attacks and soon all other attacks too and Cynthia kept on healing Milotic. So what I did was that I healed my Pokémon until Milotic was out of attacks and started using Struggle. Milotic ended up defeating itself [insert trollface]. It took some hours to beat the Elite Four that time but it was worth it for that epic story.

  • While I remember battling against Cynthia was tough, I still beat her on my first try. The only Champion I think I really struggled with was Steven. I didn't have any Pokemon that were really effective to his Steel types, so it took me a few times to manage to beat him.
