Pursuit's effect does not take place if your opponent uses Baton Pass, I'm pretty sure. It works only when your opponent switches their Pokémon out. d:

I've heard some shiny Pokémon are "shiny locked" as in they never spawn as a shiny; specifically Yveltal and Xerneas. Anyone confirm/deny this?

Mewtwo isn't one of them, so you should be able to catch a shiny one :)

Mewtwo may not be on the Shiny Locked list but I haven't heard of anybody getting a Shiny Legendary on XY. As far as I know all of them are Shiny Locked this Generation. We may have seen the end of Shiny Legends. Unless of course anybody can personally confirm they have caught a Shiny Legendary in XY.

It's stupid that they do this now, why bother to make Shiny versions AT ALL if they're going to prevent them from appearing Shiny? Although, they did make up for it by making EVERY wild caught legendary in X and Y have at least 3 perfect IVs, so I can get over never having a blue Yveltal, Red Xerneas or Purple Zygarde (there's pics online showing the shiny versions of the Kalos Legendaries)

I thought I was sure which Vulpix/Ninetales moveset I wanted, but now I'm debating. So can I get some opinion please?

(Both are Timid nature with Drought Ability)

Extrasensory
Confuse Ray
Solar Beam
Heat Wave/Fire Blast (Bred with Heat Wave, might change to Fire blast when I get the TM)

Hex
Hypnosis

Hex could be stronger than Extrasensory if the foe's affected with some form of status effects (if I'm not mistaken), so I'd probably go with moveset 2. :] If you like though, you could replace Hypnosis with Will-O-Wisp. It's got better accuracy, and it also halves the strength of all physical-attackers.

I was thinking of Will O Wisp, but I already have a fire type move that COULD inflict a burn (even if only by 10%) so I didn't want to have two of the same types of status effects in case I came against something that couldn't be burned, I could put it to sleep, or if something couldn't be put to sleep, I could use the fire move and hope for the best.

Why I add a person with the safari I want, it only shows up two pokemon and no HA. But when the person came online, her safari will showed three pokemon and HA can easily found. Is this suppose to be this way or is it only me?

Yeah, I believe it's like that.
You both need to be online at the same time so you can get their safari poke's HA and the third slot*

*if they already beaten the league.

I'm still waiting for my friend to be online so I can start getting HA Shelgons. xD

Playing on the computer

I just wonder if anybody can help me with playing pokemon x and y on computer. I can`t find any good emulators for nintendo 3ds. I also need a room for one of the games.

There is currently no working 3DS emulator along with the roms in existence. I know buying a 3DS/2DS with the game is expensive, but you really have to stick with the actual legit games in order to play Pokemon X and Y. It's way more fun to wait for a few months to buy the actual games and console, than to get banned everywhere (and yes, from the game too) because of illegal activities regarding playing and obtaining Pokemon in these games.

Maybe save up some money to buy them eventually? The 2DS is also a bit cheaper than a 3DS and also comes with a bundle (2DS + Pokemon X or Y) :) Or you could try to get them second hand? There are a lot of people selling their consoles along with the games because they already completed the game several times and grew tired of it, somehow ;)

I saw a 3ds with Pokemon X locally for $100. You can find a good deal if you look hard enough. However, I've tried looking and any 3ds emulator is unsafe and WILL give you a virus, so I advice you to be cautious.

just a note about legendary shinies and if they can be obtained. I looked on GTS and found a green MewTwo with Kalos pentagon
I saw a shiny Kalos-marked Moltres on GTS earlier. Wanted a 91-100 Male Gourgeist but before I could get one and ram it full of rare candy it had gone :(

for anyone curious Shiny Moltres is PINK?!

does anyone know when a legendary birds shiny/non-shiny state is decided? First encounter? Or final encounter

Hey guys, I'm currently training a Super Luck Absol to take advantage of the ridiculous changes that were made to the Critical chance this generation (for those of you who don't know already, it's almost as messed up as Gen I; Super Luck + Scope Lens + move with high Critical ratio = 100% Critical Hit chance). The current setup is:

Nature: Jolly
Item: Scope Lens
EVs: 252 Speed, 252 Attack, 4 HP
IVs: 31/31/30/21/31/30
Sucker Punch
Night Slash
Psycho Cut
Stone Edge

I can't help but think the moveset in particular isn't quite right. The coverage isn't all that great, but I can't think of any better damaging moves, and I think support moves would be wasted on Absol. What do you think? Maybe replace Sucker Punch with Me First or Shadow Claw, or even put Perish Song in there somewhere? Swords Dance? Or something completely different?

Relying on crits is an unreliable strategy, even with the new crit mechanics; critical hits also inflict less damage than in past generations. Absol is still better off using its Mega form.

Unreliable? There's a 100% chance of a Critical with the setup that I'm doing :P You can't get more reliable than that. I've tried it out in the Battle Maison too to make sure it's accurate; after 15 rounds, every hit was a Critical. You're right though, Critical Hits only do 1.5x damage now instead of 2x, but that's still pretty amazing when it's guaranteed. Remember the Choice Band only increases Attack by 1.5x too, and that limits you to one move. Having said all this, I agree that Absol is better in its Mega form, but I think that spot in my team is better used by someone else.
