I don't think the form changes to the mascots is as unforeseen as one may think. People actually thought they were going to give Lugia and Ho-oh formes during their remakes. Sadly they didn't. Guess GF finally decided to use that idea. Now the mystery is if they're forme changes or Megas...

Maybe not for the next gen legends but definetly Zygarde is going to get what they are having. And maybe if Diamond and Pearl remakes come Dialga and Palkia are going to have something like this going on but... I rather not think about it for now. Not that I'm absolutley looking forward to Diamond and Pearl remakes since I'm happy with the remakes we will get right now. As for the tao trio pff... They don't need no mega. The only thing they need is a new item that combines all three. That forme will most likely equate to a mega with a 100 BST boost from it's base forme Kyurem. I do wonder if it will be classified as a forme of Kyurem or it's own pokemon. Went a little of topic there. But yeah if they make remakes things like this should surely happen.

Yeah the Tao trio need to be one...that or they make Original Dragon have two formes of it's own...

Ontopic: It certainly add an aura of mystery back to the old legends, as if we never truly knew everything about them. And here I thought the third versions gave us that feeling...what with the "full story" saying Rayquaza played a part in the last conflict.

I just thought of something Rayquaza related, maybe it could warn us about the awakening of the other two. Perhaps not directly as I'm sure the character will freak, but maybe by flying over the region in a certain pattern which has to do with the Omega and Alpha forms.

@topic: Well, it crossed my mind right away that these may be unplanned Mega Evolutions that probably don't exist in XY. As I'm sure most people know, there were hidden Mega Evos for Latios and Latias discovered by ROM hackers some time ago, so it wouldn't surprise me if Game Freak went and decided that they actually wanted to give more Legendaries Mega forms as well. It wouldn't surprise me anyways.

Hey. A point I made earlier in this thread but everybody decided to ignore. There are people speculating about if Groudon and Kyogre will have new abilities such as permanent weather conditions and both getting the positive effects of their weather regardless of who came last to battle and if rain down sides fire and vice versa. What do you think will be Rayquaza's new ability? Will it remain air lock or will it have like a boost when weather conditions are in effect maybe powering up flying type moves and have it learn a powerful exclusive flying type move by forme change or perhaps it will learn the other two's moves and take advantage of the weather or something.

Actually I did respond to that abilities questions :) I said Solid Rock for Groudon (if it's to become Ground/Fire it'll have only one weakness and Solid Rock will weaken that one weakness somewhat...that weakness being water).

I think Rayquaza will get something like MegaPinsir's ability. It will turn it's hyper Beam into a powerful flying attack...and Extreme Speed too which will also get Stab if so!

Yeah, and it'll also make it feel like it's a true sky/wind legendary. I feel that it's dragon part is paid more attention to even though the flying type represents it being the lord of the sky...

The orbs. THE ORBS. The orbs are all behind this! They could become an item, specifically a key item, and whenever you give it to Kyogre/Groudon it will give them those markings, and hopefully better stats, similar to Lati@s and the Soul Dew.

It could even be Mega Evolution. Dunno though, because they don't look different enough to be mega evolutions. For example, look at Gardevoir and Mega Gardevoir. You can easily tell the difference. But for these, they don't look as different.

It could even be Mega Evolution. Dunno though, because they don't look different enough to be mega evolutions. For example, look at Gardevoir and Mega Gardevoir. You can easily tell the difference. But for these, they don't look as different.

What if Groudon got retyped for the new version?

Before I played RSE, I had no clue Groudon was a Ground-type. And the box art of OR/AS pretty much confirms that we're either getting new formes, or new mega evolutions. It would be pretty awesome if maybe, Groudon's new form got a retype to Fire, or maybe ground/fire?

And it's ability, Drought, even powers up fire-types!

Hey there Dragalge, I moved your thread in here since it's pretty much along the same vein as discussing the new formes really. So feel free to discuss how you would feel about the retyping of Groudon/Kyogre in their new state here :]

Also for myself, I really think too that the orbs are going to affect the duo in some way. Whether Mega Evolutions, or just new states, I have a feeling we're going to get some new information tonight. But it seems very likely that the orbs will have a more serious part to play in these remakes.

I always thought he was a fire type as well back in RSE. My guess they would add a 2nd type, probably fire. If they do that, I hope they add another type to Kyogre as well. Just not sure what. Maybe Water/Dark. As long as it isn't Water/Ice I would be fine.

Water/Ice could be a possibility too... whats wrong with it? xD and its a long shot, but maybe Water/Fairy? Speaking of fairies there might be s'more Fairy retypes in ORAS. Keep in mind, alot of the retypes in X and Y were mostly normal types.

I'll laugh of joy if Kyogre became Water/Ice and Groudon Ground/Fire as I made my fake megas in the "make your own Megas" thread those types. I made Mega Rayquaza into into a Flying/Electric type to fit.

That's something I was thinking too. Maybe the Red Orb/Blue Orb becomes a hold item only for Groudon/Kyogre, and it gives them a stat boost or something and they look more like the box art. They just don't look different enough for Mega Evolutions.

Or watch, Game Freak will pull something entirely new for them.

That tweet is by Toshinobu Matsumiya who is one of the people who helps make the games. How is that not a reliable source?

Unless he is the sole developer of the game or in charge of the story, A. Developerman's blogs are not the greatest source, especially for an upcoming game. The games are the only reliable source for game cannon.

To be honest, I thought there were more Water/Ice typed pokemon, but there is only 6 or so, but I guess that would be fine.

But I think Kyogre would have a better chance at becoming a dragon before a Fairy, but I don't know.


You Know, I wouldn't count out both of them becoming dragon type, although we already have a water/dragon legend. But it kinda makes sense.

Rayquaza is Dragon/Flying. Groudon could become Dragon/Ground and Kyogre becoming Dragon/Water. Sky Dragon, Earth Dragon, and a Water Dragon.

As for the retypeings to fairy, I doubt it very seriously. They would have to make a patch or something for X and Y if then are compatible with ORAS, so that everyone is equal in online battleing.

Now we could get more megas that add Fairy as a type.
