6th Gen Pokédex completion rewards?

In Emerald, when you would complete your Hoenn Pokédex, Professor Birch would give you the choice of one of the Johto starters - Chikorita, Cyndaquil or Totodile. That was the last game to give any real reward for Pokédex completion until Black 2 and White 2, where you had the Nature Preserve ticket for viewing everything in the Unova Pokédex, the Oval Charm for catching everything in it, and the Shiny Charm if you ended up getting every single Pokémon under your grasp. X and Y brought back the two charms, with the Oval Charm only requiring you to see everything in the Kalos Pokédex save the legendary birds and Mewtwo.

Do you think that rewards such as these will be brought back in these games? Are there any different things you feel would make for better rewards for these achievements? What else would you like to see for it? Discuss.

Perhaps we'll get the Oval charm for viewing all of the Pokémon on the Hoenn dex. Our choice of a Johto starter (and their Mega Stone) for completing the Hoenn dex. And the Shiny charm for viewing all the Pokémon on the national dex (which doesn't include events of course). And a Manaphy egg for completing the national dex (minus events) :3.

I think we will get a Sinnoh starter, since we have never received those as a gift before, and maybe Gamefreak would want to copy what the orginal RSE did in giving us the Johto starters. Remember that in RSE, we received a Johto starter because there wasn't a Johto game we could receive them from so they were essentially unobtainable. Now, Sinnoh starters obviously aren't unobtainable nowadays, but the last time we received them was in DPPt, which is 2 generations old.

Johto is also two generations old. Also unlike the Sinnoh starters the Johto starters had no special event in Gen V where one could get them (and with their hidden ability too). So I'm thinking they'll give out the Johto starters again (hopefully with their Mega stone). If they do give out the Johto starters with their Mega stones, it'll mean GF will be done with the first half of the starter Megas. Plus unlike Sinnoh's starters the Johto starters already got their region remade, so there probably won't be any better chance than for them to get Megas in ORAS like how Kanto's got them in XY.

Personally, I'm of the mindset the Johto and/or Sinnoh starters will be handed out in a similar manner to how the Hoenn and Kanto starters were handed out in HGSS. In other words, you won't need to complete a Pokedex or anything in order to obtain them, but you do have to complete a certain event (such as beat the Champion or complete a post-game sidequest). Though, if they were to be handed out for completing the Hoenn Dex, I can see the Johto starters being handed out over the Sinnoh ones due to the fact their HAs aren't available. It'd be cool if they did get Mega Evos. for ORAS, 'cause then I could use Mega Feraligatr <3

Anyway, starters aside, I can see you receiving the Oval Charm (along with the starter) for completing the Hoenn Dex and the Shiny Charm for completing the National Dex. Receiving something else in addition to completing the Nat. Dex would be cool, though it'd have to be super special seeing as there are some people who would have trouble completing it. Additionally, I can see a possible reward for viewing all the Pokemon in the Hoenn Dex (but not registering all their data). Maybe the starter could be handed out then?

I do remember that in HGSS, you had to defeat Red before Professor Oak would give you a Kanto starter, then after that Steven would give you a Hoenn starter. If other region starters are given out, maybe they'll have their Hidden Abilities? Just some speculation.

I think the non-Hoenn starter should be when one completes the dex. And the Oval Charm when we view them instead.

Unova starters would be a nice one if they go with getting another region's starter as the reward, given their hidden abilities were never released. In fact, I wouldn't mind having my beloved Oshawott alongside me in glorious 3D rendered Hoenn!

Still, I hope they don't give out something disappointing like just a boring diploma without any extra reward like most games had.

I think we'll get the Johto starters again, along with their mega stones. I dunno, I can see them pulling a move like that.

I'm hoping for Hidden Ability Johto Starters, and IF they have Megas, the stone to go with them.

what was the other starter trio with unreleased HAs? Unova I think? I'd like them too!

You are correct, Johto and Unova were the only starters with unreleased hidden abilities. Sinnoh and Hoenn's had theirs through a 5th Gen event while Kanto and Kalos can be easily obtained via X/Y's Friend Safaris.

The suggestions said earlier about Sinnoh starters being given out as a Pokedex completion reward isn't too bad, as well as Johto's like how Emerald gave them out.

I'd hope that it was the Johto starters to be honest, then possibly if you complete the national pokedex you get the Sinnoh starters, that would be a nice touch - possibly alongside the Oval Charm and Shiny Charm. In an ideal world that'd work though ;)

I think I would be a little disappointed with just a charm for the National Dex, considering the amount of Pokemon that we have now. ;) Though I guess, what else is there to give us if we've already logged all the Pokemon?

I don't think you need event Pokemon to be registered to get the Shiny Charm irc (I haven't gotten it though). So maybe an event mon? Maybe the map item that is needed to find Mew from Emerald could return and be given out?

Omg I didn't know that happened!! Clearly I didn't complete my Emerald pokédex lol xD I was gonna suggest a starter giveaway similar to HGSS where you get the starters from the previous and succeeding gens, so Johto and Sinnoh ones this time around but if the Johto starter thing was a feature in Emerald then I pray this comes back for ORAS cause it doesn't get much better than that for me haha :)

I sure hope so. The Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn starters have been available in very generation since their introduction except for V. Since the Kanto starters are in XY, and the Hoenn starters are obviously in these remakes, it'll mean the Johto starters are left. My hope is that they'll be in these games, but if not then I can see them being in Z/X0Y0/X2Y2

OMG I would flip if they made it so you could get a set of starters after you complete the Hoenn Dex or even the National Dex. I have a feeling they'll just stick with handing out the Shiny Charm, but it would be awesome if they handed out a set of starters (I would think 2nd gen or maybe 4th gen starters) maybe with egg moves and/or good preset IVs? That probably wouldn't happen, but I can dream.

I would really love if Birch gave me
    Spoiler:

as a reward for completing the Hoenn Dex, only after I take it becomes truly complete.

I kinda hate event mons because GameFreak made them basically unobtainable; you get them only during a certain time period when their game comes out & after that there's no way of getting them even in later games (except for the Japan-only events which never reach the west), & to top it all they can't be traded over the GTS...

Oh my gosh I never realised that! :) That's pretty logical, when you put it like that it's hopefully more likely gonna happen then :) I feel like if it was a Hoenn game they were included in before then Gen 6-wise if they're gonna appear at all it'll more than likely be in the ORAS games, fingers crossed anyways!! :)I also feel like they will for GTS / Wonder Trading purposes, starters are pretty popular on there so including the Johto ones makes a lot of sense :)
