Ugh that's not good. They almost have no choice but to announce the game this month because if it's Zygarde centric then they need to strike while the iron is hot. Leave it too long and the announcement will feel anticlimactic and people won't be as excited as they would ordinarily have been. Fingers crossed they start hyping up the 27th next week.

At least it's Ash vs Alain this week, which a lot of us have been waiting for. I am SO hyped for it.
I wouldn't worry much about this. People will always get excited about Pokemon games (they still sell in the millions!), and any announcement will still be months before the game is released, so it's not like they won't have time to build up excitement in a careful, pre-planned manner whether they do it tomorrow or in half a year.

I personally rather it be done when it's ready, and for the game to be properly polished!

As usual, I'll urge calm with announcements about announcements. Expect a lot of them this year given it's the 20th anniversary for Pokemon, and not everything this year will be about Z (the likely main game release anyway). There's RBY re-release, Pokken, Pokemon Go and a bunch of things we don't know about yet after all, and a lot will be minor like, say, Japan-only events.

Which is why for me I have believed it is not Zygarde focused since some time now. Would be funny if the whole Z story is anime exclusive and the game is something nobody saw coming. Heck I would be cool with a person being able to control legendaries and you need to stop him. Kinda hoping the game is based in Kanto for the 20th anniversary but with a new plot over a remake. Still hoping for something out of left field over Z myself.

Come to think of it, we should be hearing about the "flowers" hint within the next couple months or so. Here's something in particular:

    https://www.nintendoworldreport.com...ting-director-teases-flowers-in-series-future

"And last but not least, can you just throw a cryptic word out there? Just anything. Something will get me to scratch my head. That, like, in eight months I'll go, 'That's what he was talking about!'"

The eight months that I had bolded was probably just a guess on the interviewer's part... but if that was a correct guess, that would put it around March of hearing something, because this article was posted back in August of last year.

"Look at the flowers." ~ Carol. Ok a bit too dark... LOL.

Anyway, I can't really guess on this. I know they loved flowers in Kalos and every town was named after a type of flower. (I think) This could mean more towns named after flowers or a flower trio of legends. Even the super weapon was a flower. With him saying 'flowers' that probably means more towns named after flowers as I said. Aka Southern Kalos as everyone calls it. Or some islands.

Grrr.... No one was paying attention when I linked that article for at least twice.

The flower is most likely about this:

If it isn't Eternal Floette like Sun and others have said, then perhaps it's linked to Complete Zygarde. Perhaps Zygarde takes on the form of a flower like how Xerneas is a tree and Yvetal is a cocoon.

I actually like the idea of Volcanion getting associated with flowers, the Volcanion as we know right now is the first ever Pokemon with the Water/Fire typing. Then why not a Grass/Fire as its alternative form? (: Perhaps this alternative form focuses on recovery, as oppose to the Water/Fire Volcanion?

Interesting note, but the Ultimate Weapon resembles a flower when it's opened up, and Lysandre's Japanese name is flower-related(and also related to French royalty).

Since we already see AZ's Floette in X/Y and that it's an important plot device so to speak, I think that instead of getting it in an event, it will be obtainable in the next game. This is why I think that if we do get our "flowers" hint between now and April(at the latest I think), it's most likely going to be main series game related. I think the Eternal Flower growing at the base of AZ's tree in Sootopolis was a hint to this, but that's just me. :3

Hehehe, I had the same idea before, but it seems unlikely :(

@ Wings of Bliss Well a lot of the character's Japanese names are flower related so that might not be so strong a link.
I actually think that Eternal Floette might be sleeping in Sootopolis xD. That or the flower it has is an extinct one that was brought back after we defeated the Primal.

I wonder if Complete Zygarde is gonna go rogue in the game, and we gotta use EF Floette to take it down... laughing as I'm typing this, I'm getting this image in my head of a tiny Floette taking down a massive Dragon/Ground monster. Light of Ruin should do the trick. :P

Well, we never know! Long before the announcement of Zygarde Core, we already predicted that part perfectly. ;) Minus the canine and humanoid forms.

Shaymin's more boyish form was unexpected too, since its Land forme looked shy and girly.

It doesn't hurt to imagine, it's worse if one doesn't have the power to imagine, they are like dead man. (:

Getting back on Volcanion's Grass/Fire form, volcanic soils are actually beneficial for the agriculture. So it isn't entirely impossible.

    Web passage said:
One example of the effect of volcanoes on agricultural lands is in Italy. Except for the volcanic region around Naples, farming in southern Italy is exceedingly difficult because limestone forms the basement rock and the soil is generally quite poor. But the region around Naples, which includes Mount Vesuvius, is very rich mainly because of two large eruptions 35,000 and 12000 years ago that left the region blanketed with very thick deposits of tephra which has since weathered to rich soils. Part of this area includes Mount Vesuvius. The region has been intensively cultivated since before the birth of Christ. The land is planted with vines, vegetables, or flowers. Every square foot of this rich soil is used. For example, even a small vineyard will have, in addition to grapes and spring beans on the trellises, fava beans, cauliflower and onions between the trellis rows, and the vineyard margin rimmed with orange and lemon trees, herbs, and flowers. It also is a huge tomato growing region.

Hehehe, I actually mentioned this in the old thread awhile back, but it was more speculation for the movie than the game xP. But that was back when Zygarde seemed like the big bad, now it seems to be Volcanion.
You know it'll be interesting if we get a Z episode for the post game (being unable to catch the legend in the main story) that has Volcanion go into rage due to Team Flare's actions.

In the anime Zygarde - well, the cores - are very intelligent. One of the cores tells the other one to cut off contact with humans completely because they disrupt order, but the other core disagrees. It's fascinating that the cores seem to have different personalities/perceptions of things, even though they combine to form one "complete" being. So yeah i can't imagine Zygarde going on a crazy rampage or anything xD i'd love a really complex story in the next game involving the cores and incorporating their different personalities and how they go about restoring order. And maybe Floette is involved? Idk but it's exciting to think about.

I really want the story for the sequel(s) to be of epic proportions to make up for the lacklustre legendary storyline in X and Y :)

Well Az could look at the flowers and he ends up giving us Eternal Floette, but I wonder if it would evolve.

I still say it is highly possible for more town names to be named after flowers.

What is Kalos' town theme? Kanto has colors
    Johto has flowers
    Hoenn has two word names
Sinnoh is said to have no theme, but a lot of it's names in english are two word names like Sunnyshore and Twinleaf.
    Unova's is clouds.

Actually I thought it was flowers, but apparently it is this:

The English names of cities and towns in Kalos are derived from various ingredients used in fragrances. Likewise, the names in the European versions are derived from various terminologies related to art.

So maybe it isn't talking about towns. I thoughts they were all flowers though. However, Kalos is the only Region to have the lowest amount of towns to its previous generation.

Hoenn meanwhile has the most routes, but I guess that might be why we didn't get new ones in OrAs...

Getting back on Volcanion's Grass/Fire form, volcanic soils are actually beneficial for the agriculture. So it isn't entirely impossible.

California and Idaho also have the same situation; a large string of ancient volcanic calderas stretch from California upwards towards Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, all of which formed by the very hotspot currently beneath Yellowstone, which is responsible for the geyser activity. The volcanic soil in those areas is one of the main reasons why California is good for growing their crops(very similar to Italy, especially wine) and Idaho for their potatoes... or I like calling them 'taters. #VolcanoNerd4Life.

That reminds me... if I take Pokemon GO with me to Yellowstone, would that increase my chances of running into a Volcanion? 'Cause he has that whole geyser/volcanic hot spring theme going on...

BUT ANYWAYS... I'm thinking that the previously inaccessible parts of the Power Plant will have something to do with changing Volcanion Formes in the new game, if we actually do get Formes. But for exploration in the main part of the game, I'm really hoping that you don't need Volcanion to open up those other doors. I'm only dreaming here.

EDIT: Looks like Nintendo is having one of their annual investor meetings on the 2nd of February. Another one is on March 31st. If they say something, I swear to Arceus...
