Party or videogames?

Generally I'm the one who asks others about going places and whatnot, but I'm kinda both. Parties > videogames.

That said, I've changed a lot in the past year. Before that I'd have been like most of the people in this thread - videogame-playing introvert who would go to a get-together if invited, but would never plan anything.
I'm going in the other direction these days haha. I think uni time kinda filled me up with partying for a lifetime. Although, by that I only mean the huge parties with loads of people you don't know. I still am the one to arrange smaller parties in my own home or arrange get togethers and stuff with my closer friends from time to time :D I've just come to appreciate the phenomena of socializing differently since finishing uni. Or perhaps since I broke up with my ex and dared to be myself a lot more.

I can definitely think of a fun evening skype call with my RP friends and perhaps some online gaming with them as a small party in itself, haha. I no longer think that's a hermity way to live. It's just socializing differently (:

No, I totally agree with you that internet friends are just as real as irl friends, and can often even be better friends - I'd consider most of the Discord crew just as good friends as most of the people I know, sometimes better. Skype Discord (ahem, discordmasterrace) calls are also quite fun. :) However, I'd still say I prefer real life parties.

On a related note, does anyone get annoyed about the term "real life"? We all agree that internet friends and relationships are just as real, but I'm not sure what other term to use.

If i'm invited to a party 9/10 times i'll go, I love chilling out myself with my games an netflix but I wouldnt want to miss out what could be one of the best nights of my life for something that I can do any other time, also as a really shy person I try and force myself to socialise when I can so I dont isolate myself.

totally depends on the day. most nights I'm willing to go out but it's rare for me to go to an actual party type thing, although I'll do it (slightly begrudgingly) if I'm invited or w/e. I've been going out on some level most nights the past couple months, which has been a lot of fun but it does get tiring after awhile. I figure I need to live it up while all my friends still live within 10 minutes of each other, though.

Depends where we going. I love being social, getting together with people and having get togethers at our houses and going out to eat but I'm kind of over going out to clubs/bars. I did that to death in my late teens/early 20's

I think both can be fun ^-^. I love playing videogames but I don't mind partying as long as it is just with my closest friends. I celebrated my last birthday at my mom's café with just my best friends and it was really fun. I'd do it again.

Parties. Imo video games are pretty boring, anyway. No real potential for any sort of developments, will probably do more to stunt your social life than bolster it, and one'll generally cost a lot less for what you're getting than the other.

Just, uh...careful not to Party Hard. That's illegal.

I don't like parties...okay, I guess that's a bit harsh, I just don't prefer parties, and I actually get cranky if I'm out late and can't find a place to just sit and relax quietly...

The answer is obvious. Video games!
Although online gaming with people is totally an acceptable thing to do even late at night.

(heh, would potentially involve a different type of party then, especially if it's an mmo.)

I rarely ask if anyone want to hang out as I'm not good at suggesting places/activities so instead I'll go out if someone asks. If I were to choose between party or videogames, most likely videogames with close friends as in parties there are bounds to be some folks I don't know and not feel talking to them.
