News: More Sun and Moon news July 1st

Iwanko and Nekkolala english names will probably be revealed amongst other things. I'm happy we'll have something to discuss for the month of July atleast.

That's an interesting point. I specifically remember being underwhelmed when I had first read that on Serebii. But then, their true intentions came as a complete surprise when I had started playing the game myself.

I wonder if we will get evil team info next week, it almost feels a little too early. This time, SM is being released a month later than XY were, so I was expecting not to hear anything about the evil team till a little later. I could be wrong though, and I can't remember when Galactic and Plasma were revealed.

N was revealed to be an antagonist in 2010's July release of Corocoro too. I'll go and check if that's after or before Plasma. BW were out in September so I wouldn't be surprised if Plasma had been shown in June.

Given what you said about Team Plasma likely being revealed in the June 2010 CoroCoro I wouldn't be surprised if the pattern continues and we have the villainous team revealed next month.

I'd rather have the evolutions of the starter Pokemon. They should keep the villains under wraps so it's more of a surprise. Although I do understand why it's revealed. Perhaps a new villain team and a return of team rocket and battle it out. The legendary Pokemon could be on the side of each team and the catching of it purifies it if you will. Effectively making the legendaries the bad guys.

I cannot see starter evolutions being revealed next month, it'd be too soon to reveal them plus they are usually kept under wraps until it gets closer to game release day. I'd probably expect it to be around October since the pattern tended to reveal them in the last CoroCoro before game release day, assuming if it's not revealed in the CoroCoro released a few days before game release day (the games come out on the 18th and CoroCoro usually releases on the 15th).

Villainous team could be more likely for next month since most previous villain teams were revealed around the month of July.

I could see that getting revealed since I recall it was around this point during XY pre-release that we got Clauncher/Skrelp and then Swirlix/Spritzee afterwards who were our first version exclusives outside of legendaries for that game. For SM so far we haven't gotten any version exclusives besides Solgaleo and Lunala so far (because you know, they're the mascots) but hopefully that will be rectified soon.

2. Kekoala and Iwanko's official reveals in English alongside with another new Pokémon

If it's the latter, then I'm expecting the new Pokémon to be based on shark due to July 1st taking place during Shark Week. And if these animals are indeed based on endangered/extinct animals, then it's gotta be a tiger shark.

I can see them give the Tiger Shark teeth like those of a tiger's similar to how they gave the Lumineon line tails that looked like actual butterfly wings.

I am also kinda expecting a shark pokemon being revealed with it being Shark Week and what not. The official English site sharked something with Sharpedo to link it as well about Shark Week.

I am also expecting the evil team to be reveled soon and new pokemon and possibly so additional screen shots and other parts of the first island.

As for what Pinkie-Dawn said, I think it is a bit low. It is a special announcement, so it is likely to be rather big info dump. Just the english names of already reveled pokemon is a bit low. Not to mention it came from a Japanese site, so the English names would be nothing at all.

Wasn't Duoblade's reveal before XY's release considered as a "special announcement" despite being the only Pokémon revealed by them?

That was reveled at the Japan Expo. So no. It was a special for that, but that is all. Nintendo and Game Freak are making the announcement over the internet on their main site. So it would have to be something sizable. They wouldn't give times out for everyone if it was just something like the Japan Expo. I mean it could be, but I highly doubt it.

Is it likely that what has just been leaked is the early news that was scheduled for 1st July? It seems way too close and not to mention Japan is a few hours ahead. Perhaps the international versions of the trailer will just drop tomorrow at the scheduled times.

It seems likely that tomorrow is just dropping the English version of that trailer. Guess that means we still won't be getting Iwanko and Nekkoala's English names until much later, likely having to wait until the game release before we have that revealed, I guess.

Yeah, to me it seems like they hit the share button early. We might still get the evil team and maybe the English names, but I don't see much more.

It wasn't supposed to be shared for another 24 hours. So I have a feeling someone got the wrong times, it leaked and they just went ahead and reveled it.


And again, we already got every single english name for the new pokemon, so I don't know what is going on with the dog and koala.

I seen the reveals and just busted out laughing because of the timing. Like what Blue said, I think what we'll get tomorrow are the international videos and the website updates on the new Pokemon. But, I'm still thinking we may get a couple more things like the dog, koala, and maybe a Gym Leader or two.
