    Lol. Guys, don't scare away healthy competition! Anyone is free to sign up with an application, not just our active fan here!

    This is precisely why I am going to hold off on making any application for Spirited Away, at least for a good while as to give a fair chance for others to join -- heck, maybe Star might come back from his real life struggles? And while I am absolutely flattered people want me to join, I already expressed my issues on receiving any special treatment earlier before. Jauntier explicitly stated he won't be accepting any reservations (I hate the practice myself), so it seems odd to make it seem like I have more priority over others. As much as I am ecstatic to join this RP, I'm actually quite curious if there's anyone else out there that would want to join and would love to see what kind of character they'll make and see how they contribute to Cornered.

    Besides, no matter what, I am going to cling onto you guys like the pathetic parasite that I am, so it's not like I'm ever going anywhere.

    wow look at all these words that aren't an SU oh how charming of JUST MAKE IT ALREADY YOU SCRUB

    I do hope we get multiple SUs, though! Love to see what some people come up with. Sad to see Silver go, though, moreso because she didn't even get to see the working day. :/

    I am curious about how she's gonna get written off. Maybe she'll be an employee that's puppeted? I think it would be rather tasteless to have her up and disappear without a trace (aka the Kaze route.)

    If anyone makes a female Weavile to win over Gabriel they get my vote. Just saying. Bias there and all.

    i should have changed my name

    hey, come now, I already accepted the offer to play as a super pansexual Kirlia for Jaunt's dumb ballet troupe, what more do you want from me

    Actually, that brings me to a question I should have asked earlier. Say, I do join. what happens if I apply prior to the Kirlia's debut, whenever that may be? Does that character suddenly become forfeit and Kaze'd? I am not planning to use her for Spirited Away anyway, considering she was designed specifically for FMN.

    If you joined SA, then my original third Kirlia returns to the part of the troupe. Maybe if you'd want to keep up that background, they all know your Kirlia from when they did/do ballet together.

    I suppose that would make it fair. It wouldn't make any sense for me to simultaneously play as a guest as well as one of the cast members. So, I guess I have that choice of either participating as an official player or just stick to the ballet troupe that is yet to come. Hmm, if the ballet troupe is able to interact with members from both stores, then I find being a guest is more favorable since I'm able to frolic with both stores rather than just devote myself to one of them.

    Edit: It was so late right now, but thankfully I don't have to do anything tomorrow. Maybe I can finish a few things, like my Dust app and a portrait of Gabe.

    Maybe I'll actually draw the Cigoro comic

    So. Uh, good night.

    No, go for it. It is open to everybody; get writing.
    Kiyo! You're here too?

    Sorry that it's not fancy or anything, I wanted to get it in as quickly as possible.

    APPLICATION FOR: Spirited Away

    NAME: Neophytus (Neo)

    SPECIES: Umbreon

    GENDER: Male

    LEVEL: 16

    MOVESET: Double Team, Helping Hand, Pursuit, Sand Attack

    APPEARANCE: Neo looks like the average Umbreon, but the tips of his ears are a snowy white. He always wears his favorite white scarf around his neck.

    PERSONALITY: Neophytus, still being quite young, is a little childish. He's constantly trying to prove himself, coming out of a family of successful Eevees. He's energetic and playful, usually getting into trouble as a result. Generally, Neo gets confused easily, sometimes by not paying attention (for his attention span isn't that large), sometimes just because he doesn't understand.

    BACKGROUND: Being the youngest and the runt of his litter, with eight other siblings, Neo's parents, his mother being a Leafeon and his father a Zangoose, never really had a lot time for him. It also didn't help that all eight of his brothers and sisters evolved before him, essentially robbing Neo of all attention from his parents. Because of this, while his family was sound asleep, Neophytus would sneak away and explore the town of Jubilee. It was here where he was happiest, with all of the bustling shops; he would even use some of his pocket money to buy a treat or something. It was because of these strolls that allowed him, five months after his siblings, to evolve. He was the only Umbreon in his family, according to Neo's mother.
    One night he walked across the boulevard and looked into one of the shops, Spirited Away as a matter of fact, and saw a white scarf. Neo bought it and has never taken it off since.

    Around this time, the Jubilee Summer Festival was the talk of the town, starting in a couple of weeks. Neo loved the Summer Festival, and this year, he wanted to show his family that he isn't just some runt. That he could be independent. Luckily, Spirited Away, the shop that he bought his scarf from, was hiring, so he filled out the application form and waited.

    There is no rush. Take your time with your application. I would advise after reading the entire first post that you also read through the Spirited Away applications, so that you can better understand your character's potential co-workers, and try to craft a character that falls into a unique niche that helps make for an interesting player who diversifies the store dynamic. Forget-Me-Not applications are secondary to you (save for Amaryllis the Florges), but useful in understanding the overall dynamic and how every character brings something immersive to the table.

    Have you done this prior to your sign up? If not, I will not be reading your application until you have confirmed to me to have done so and whether or not you feel inclined to change your character after reading.

    Alright. I'm assuming you know if I read the other sign ups or not due to the large amount of time it took me to respond. {XD}
    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Neophytus is unique enough to your liking. ;)

  • APPLICATION FOR: Spirited Away

    Alright, time to review.

    Your application is pending.

    Foremost, this is not Jubilife City. This is Jubilee, a non-canon Pokemon-run town in an undisclosed region. Do please correct this.

    As an aside, may I ask, how do you pronounce your character's name? Is it like Neo-FEE-tus or Neo-FIGHT-us?

    And now for the meat of it:

    Neo's personality overall, you describe, as "childish." While that isn't an inherent issue, I'd like to know to what age you liken Neo. Remember, a Pokemon's level in this role-play is not necessarily representative of their age, too.

    Neo knows Helping Hand, which is curious to me. In-game, it's a move that boosts the power of an attack. Since the idea is that there will be very minimal chances for an actual battle and more so a focus on the social aspect as imitated in human society, can you tell me how you'd employ Helping Hand, the effect you'd have it incur, and an example of how your character during the role-play would ideally use it in a non-battle sense?

    I think Neo's family background on the surface has a lot in common with Who's Kiyo? (formerly Collect Elwood; he changed his username yesterday)'s character Cicaro the Furret. Cicaro, from Forget-Me-Not, has a large family, was the first shiny in his nuclear family much like Neo is the first Umbreon in his, and they both felt overshadowed by other family members and set out to make a life for themselves through a job in Jubilee. Maybe they two can identify together, should they ever meet long enough for that conversation. Or, if you personally feel like you are, in some way, infringing, you are free to change your background as well. That part is all up to you.

    I will ask though, what makes Neo's family so successful? Is it just that they evolved from their basic stages?

    I also want to know, since Jubilee is only three years old since being re-colonized by Pokemon, where did Neo's family reside before then? Are they Jubilee residents now, or do they live on the wild outskirts? Or did they come from another town? If they came from another Pokemon-run town, I will mention since this isn't information I felt needed to be explained in the OP that these particular towns are spread far apart.

    I feel like, at some point, almost everyone made that mistake. In all honesty, I also keep thinking Jubilife instead of Jubilee. I probably do this because I don't want to associate the town with one of the lamest X-Men characters ever.

    BARNACLES, SOMEONE ACTUALLY JOINED

    So you guys lose a Dark-Type just to get another Dark-Type. Gabe must feel pretty relieved that he will always have a fellow Mon.

    I kind of like how Neo is explicitly young compared to the other members, or at least I'm assuming that's what you're going for. I feel like he would serve as an interesting counterpart to Sam; instead of a man-child who just sucks at life, we have an actual adolescent trying to take on more adult responsibilities. The idea is very cute and could be endearing, especially when working alongside some of the more seasoned SA cast members. Thank the Lord he's not working for the flower shop. There's already been a murder over there.

    I kinda feel like the character should be more neotenic in appearance, though. Umbreon doesn't really give me that "childish" vibe (unless you're deliberately going for that irony). I could be wrong, but based on Sam and a few other details in the RP like the Leveling, I've always interpreted evolution separate from age; Neo can be still the oldest of his siblings but maybe he's apprehensive about evolving or something. Maybe that could also serve as another thing that urges Neo to prove himself, since he feels a little insecure about the fact that he still hasn't evolved and feels he's bringing his family down.

    But hey, maybe these aren't optimal to the setting. Don't listen to me, I'm an inept writer who spends more time trolling in OOCs than posting in ICs and I'm just trying to steal Jaunt's position as the most infamous GM ever.

    Huh? *checks post* {D:}
    Whoops. :3c I've been playing a lot of Platinum lately, force of habit I presume.

    As an aside, may I ask, how do you pronounce your character's name? Is it like Neo-FEE-tus or Neo-FIGHT-us?
    I actually thought of it as Ne-OH-fi-tus, but either way is fine. Just call him Neo. ;)

    And now for the meat of it:
    I like meat.

    Neo's personality overall, you describe, as "childish." While that isn't an inherent issue, I'd like to know to what age you liken Neo. Remember, a Pokemon's level in this role-play is not necessarily representative of their age, too.
    I wanted Neo to be a teenager, like the Pokémon equivalent to a 14-15 year old human, how ever old that is. While I knew that his level isn't dependent on age, I wanted him to have a low level (because he doesn't really battle), but still be high enough to have some decent moves.

    Honestly, and this is a very weak excuse, it just felt right. It was either that, Tail Whip, or Tackle (I had already used my TM move, which was Double Team).

    I just want to make something clear. I did not steal your idea, Kiyo. It was original. Or at least I thought it was. {XD}

    I will ask though, what makes Neo's family so successful? Is it just that they evolved from their basic stages?
    Well, that (It's successful from Neo's point of view), and his mother's side's achievements (A.K.A Stuff that I wanted to add later for plot building purposes if possible).

    They did at one point, but his mother, wanting a change (Plot building again), decided to move to a new town, thus being Jubilife City Jubilee Town.
    Most of these answers are weak, I know. {XD}

    I feel like, at some point, almost everyone made that mistake. In all honesty, I also keep thinking Jubilife instead of Jubilee. I probably do this because I don't want to associate the town with one of the lamest X-Men characters ever.

    I really like your idea. I think I might change it now and have him evolve later. :)
    ...Wait, Murder?!

    EDIT: After thinking about it, I'm starting to really like your idea.
    RIP Disclosed. Died by choking to death. What a way to go (I think, I don't know the full story).

    To be fair, Sinnoh was boring in general. But I heard everyone likes the snow

    Jubilife at least had some relevance with the GTS. I mean, sure, it no longer works now since Nintendo is dumb and got rid of the servers, but back then, that was revolutionary.

    Jubilee from X-Men shoots fireworks, so she can gracefully save everyone a fortune when July 4th comes around again. Sure, she can emit an miniature atomic explosion because science, but let's be honest, comic book writers can make anyone OP. It still doesn't change the fact that Jubilee, in any incarnation, is a SNORE.

    Also, don't worry Cat. The murdered employee became a zombie well verse in Shakespearean.

    I'm so glad none of you clowns made a terrible pun when I said neoteny regarding someone named Neo. Glad to see this place has some standards, unlike me
