I used to think Pok?mon Light Platinum was the best ROM hack but this one blows it out the water. The writing is sooo good man totally stayed into it the whole time and don't be afraid of long dialogues because there is so much world building. Love the filthy mouths everyone have too. Hello there, I just finished Beta Three. I decided to play it from the beginning, and yes, I cheesed the game again by using Beta One. And in the process, I realized the biggest cheese of them all: Alakazam.

Here's how this works. First, you have to earn 4,680 coins at the game corner. Find a good slot machine and use save states to make triple sevens much more common, and you could get this in fifteen minutes. Afterwards, you'll have a Level 9 Abra with Shadow Ball (assuming the betas didn't change your ability to get the Coin Case before your first mission). Bad news, Abra's a sitting duck to any normal types right now. Good news, it shouldn't be too hard to get him up to Level 16, and that's when the fun begins.

You see, the game is entirely populated by Gen I pokemon. So, this game has zero dark types. None. The only steel type through the third beta are Magneton, which have poor Sp. Def, poor HP, and no Sturdy that I've ever seen. Scizor is a potential threat, but it'd be hampered by low Sp. Def as well. The only Ghosts are weak against Psychic type moves and can't outrun or outlast Alakazam. And while psychic types like Slowbro could give you a run for your money, investing in Shadow Ball will completely wreck them.

Unfortunately, Alakazam would still have a powerful check in the form of special walls like Chansey and Snorlax, so a physical fighter would be a welcome addition. Poliwrath would be your best bet for its raw power and healthy speed.

In other words, set out with a Poliwag and an Abra, and you'll completely destroy this game.

...but I didn't do that. I raised a Jolteon, Arcanine, Poliwrath, Alakazam, and Vileplume and cheesed the first fight against Red by using beta 1's glitch of having Level 20 Pokemon available in the wild just outside of Celadon. And now, they're all Level 45 and dying for the next beta to come out like I am. I was so excited to be an Executive, and I felt completely soul-crushed when I hit the end shortly after. The new missions were fun, and I'm excited to see where the game goes next.

I did run into one glitch during my playthrough, just a minor one. Opening up the menu while surfing caused the character sprite to glitch out (splitting into pieces), which was fixed after any battle encounter. I was also bummed out that I couldn't steal Bill's Dragonair, but what are you gonna do?

One last thing: screw you Ronnie.

of course you can make it easy or hard, that's up to the player.... cool could make level restrictions like other nuke hacks. its about the adventure , not the battles..

Completed the game completely this time. Along with obtaining life orb and completing the koga quest. The game's surely one of the best.
Also don't ask about how I completed the koga quest, its quite easy and fun to do. The game gives enough hints, It's better to try yourself.

Err I tried patching my old save file with the newest version, then when I walked out of the rocket base/casino I was in a whole bunch of trees and stuck. Is this me just being dumb? And should I just patch a fresh rom file?

P.S. I just tried flying to other cities, which worked fine but celadon is glitched in the way of, no npc and I can't go into buildings.

P.SS. I was able to fix it by patching a fresh fire red rom.

I'm at fuschia city and I went into a house and through their back door and then when I walked through it there was 2 people looking into their pond I guess, but the important part is that you can't move or open your menu while their.

So, there is more stuff that I can explore after all? I might have to do some more checking now that I'm at a standstill. It's going to suck losing the party I built, though. Some of them I even got through legitimate means since I'm quite lousy at being a bad guy as is.

Anyhow, thanks for creating the first hack that drew enough of my attention that I actually played a Pokemon game again. Seeing the storyline drew me in. I've mostly only been dabbling in some of the darker lore and creepypastas in the past month or so. (Man, some ghost Pokemon really do have some terrifying intentions for Pokemon and humans alike.)

Notes made in this version:
Red's room looks messed up (may be a mistake from patching? If anyone has the same problem than say it too please)
Several people in the lab on cinnabor island make the game crash if you talk to them
The thieves and scientists in the mansion on cinnabon island give a lot of money ranging 1,4k to ~2,6k (not that it matters with how ****ty the rocket shop is... can't shop anywhere with my currently 175k bounty... xD)
*edit: All trade pokemons are not exactly named... just a strange string of letters this includes all to me known ingame trades
The scientists in silph co also give ~1,6-7k $ per kil- er beaten scientist
Bill gives almost nothing and he is a boss battle... xD (why does he not have a chansey?! This things are rare as hell in those old games... xD)

Things I want to say
Please upgrade the rocket market over time especially since the rewards from stealing pokemons are crappy i mean... a quick claw, kings rock, a shell bell and a life orb... against the exp share, 30 hyper balls, lucky egg, tm earthquake and sludge bomb and so on from the police is quite... bad.
Apart from that... your game is awesome... especially things like the heist... I would like it to see more activities like the heist... like doing something like that in every market once the bounty is at a sufficent level...

*edit: what should i do for kogas quest?! I have got no idea... I know that I should "sneak" in.... but he doesnt let me and talking with the warden or koga doesnt change a thing Nevermind I found it out... the tip for others... speak with the employees of the safari zone

One can't challenge the celadon gymn... the guy that uses cut doesnt show up to free the way

If it works for you I assume that something happened while patching it (Does red's room look glitchy to you? And do ingame trades appear as messed up strings of letters?).... maybe the rom I used to patch it was faulty? I dunno, that cut guy doesn't show up is all I know. xD

Anyways nice bounty.... I wasted a lot of possible steals by beating trainers whenever I could and not waiting for the executive upgrade.

I love the side quest of this game, robbing a pokemart was a lot of fun. The koga side quest took my an hour just cause I didn't pay enough attention to what everyone had to say... And I liked how the pewter city poke center side quest and the I guess you could say underground business side quest went together. Also will the next update allow us to get promoted again so we can steal gym leaders pokemon? Because right now I'm waiting to fight gyms because I want that so badly.

Also is can you add a bribe 100,000 to the police officers because it take a long time to bribe off all my bounty so I could buy from poke shops and get the rewards from police officers.

Wait, there were side quests in towns we never needed to go to? Now, I'm going to go see about them. I should have known better.

Personally, I'm hoping there's some kind of endgame/ post-game sort of deal where you get that fake Trainer License that was hinted at, hit all the Gyms, the Indigo Plateau, Elite 4, and ultimately,
a rematch with Red. This would be after Team Rocket officially disbanded. It would set the stage for Gold and Silver with... 1. The 'real' reason Red went to Mt. Silver 2. Team Rocket's resurgence in Gold and Silver.

Lastly, another endgame/ post-game thing would set the stage for Gary becoming the Viridian City Gym Leader. It would likely be another rematch with him. One way or another, you'd or someone would convince him to become the Gym Leader afterward and he'd find his new calling.

Another idea I got from this is there would be more than ending, depending on your morale or that branching system/ thing. Sub-20k Bounties get one of the two Goodie Two Shoes endings, while people with over 80k/ 100k bounties get one of the two Dark endings. I have ideas on both of these but I'll just leave it at that. Did I say two?

That's because the battle is like the original battle with Red. You can lose the battle and have a different ending. The game will simply go back to your last save after the credits.
There is also the neutral ending but who cares about that

so i have a couple of question about youre great hack. do you intend to put a selling pokemon thing? are you goin to put vs seeker?. are you goin to put jhoto since rocket is part of the story there tho and since the story you made so far is so good i wouldnt mind for jhoto. good luck on youre hack beautiful work so far cant wait foor more :D also is it possible to add infinite amount of sidequest like go beat this guy steal that ect ect?
