I've been on a Shiny Natu quest for ages and have managed to Wonder Trade away like five boxes of them. No shinies. How do you people do this 0_o

I just now hatched a shiny Cleffa as the second egg, I literally just now started breeding Cleffas. It's officially the fastest I have ever gotten a shiny unintentionally through breeding. Named her Greeny Genie.

I've chained a Shiny Stufful and I've been on Grubbin for 2 days, still no Shiny :(
But I did get a Shiny Lilipup in a random encounter, which haven't happened to me in ages!

On the 5th I found a second shiny Trapinch which I will evolve into Vibrava. It was 1,063 fs encounters.

On the 7th I found my 10th male shiny Nidoran at 948 hordes.

I?m currently hunting for a female Nidoran shiny via horde or egg. I?ve hatched 765 eggs so far and I?m at 1,066 hordes after the last shiny Nidoran male.

Does anyone know the percentage for the female? I know the Geodude in Makuhita horde is 7% since its in the 35% horde and I?ve gotten 2 of those, the Nidoran hordes are 65% so it must be higher then 7%...

I found a full odds random encounter shiny Volbeat while gathering eggs in front of the daycare on the 11th. Kind of wish it was a Pokemon I didn't have but I only had my Flame Body Talonflame on me so luckily it caught in a Quick ball. That's my 3rd random encounter shiny in Y.

Today I finally had the Unown cave in OR again, I found a shiny B in 73 Dexnav's, my first initial. Then 11 Dexnav's later I found shiny C.

I was bouncing between Burmy and Lickitung hunts when this popped-up yesterday:

N9juB1T.jpg

Not one of my current hunts, but I actually really like Magnemite! I remember as a kid daydreaming of having one IRL. Why haven't they made a remote-controlled flying Magnemite toy yet? >:I

Since I found it a day before release, I'm very tempted to use it as my main for my Ultra Sun play-though (I should be getting the game later today). I might evolve it into Magneton, but definitely not Magnezone. (I don't hate Magnezone, but I enjoy the simplicity of the earlier stages more. Also, Pok?mon Snap.)

EDIT: Now on Ultra Sun!

I like the "scatters things often" text. I imagine it not being able to control the magnets and sends silverware and such flying and causes trouble for your trainer :)

After not getting a pokemon for the entire SM Games and even longer before in ORAS, I finally got another Shiny pokemon!!

I was getting ready to challenge Hala in Ultra Sun and I was walking through Route 2. I decided to curve around to the player's house to heal up and BOOM! I get a Shiny Pikipek! My first ever shiny from Alola and my first Alola Shiny pokemon!!

Not only that, it was my first encounter with a Pikipek as well in US.

I just finished the Electric trial last night in Ultra Sun. While heading down from Mt. Hokulani, literally one step from leaving the last patch of grass, an Elekid pops-up. So I'm thinking "Ah, another Pokémon I've no interest in using for this playthrough. I'll just run awa- WAIT, DID IT JUST SPARKLE!?"

With its Naughty nature, I imagine it pretending not to be able to control its magnets. xD

Decided to do my first full odds random encounter shiny hunt in gen 6. I've gotten 3 random encounter shinies in Y before but I wasn't hunting for them.

I decided to do it in X in Santalune Forest since I'm breeding on Y for Nidoran F and wanted either Caterpie or Weedle most. Only needed Weedle and Metapod for either line. I don't have most of the other Pokemon either besides Kakuna and Pikachu so would have been happy with most of the options.

Today a shiny Caterpie popped up at 1,588 encounters. I don't have shiny charm but have gone over 2,000 encounters in FS and hordes so 4,096 isn't too crazy.

It appears that not all Ultra Wormhole Shinies are necessarily full-odds. I'm not 100% sure of the specifics, but it seems like a lot of people are finding Ultra Wormhole Shinies. I've yet to test it myself, but I've read that white wormholes with a rainbow glow have better Shiny odds.

Figured I'd share this tidbit since I only hunt full-odds Shinies these days and would be a little crushed if I thought I had found a full-odds Shiny and it turned out not to be. I wouldn't want other full-odds Shiny hunters to go though that.

They don't know the odds yet but it does seem that your odds increase if you go into wormholes that are between 3,000 and 5,000 light years away. Though people have found shinies in wormholes under 1,000. People are finding shinies within 10-50 attempts in a row.

I'm not sure if the wormholes change rarity as you go, like under 1,000 light years is 1/4,096 then 5,000 is 1/50 or something.

Did my next random encounter shiny hunt on Route 12 in X, my main targets were Tauros and Exeggcute.

After only 1,794 encounters a shiny Tauros popped up. Considering I don't have shiny charm and I've had both friend safari and horde hunts take over 2,000. I can't believe my first 2 full odds random encounter hunts have been under 2,000 encounters and have been ones I wanted.

My next full odds hunts are fossil soft resetting for Aerodactyl. And random encounters on Route 3 for Azurill or Pidgey.
Still going for a Nidoran Female, hatched over 1,000 eggs so far and have found 16 shiny Nidoran Males and Stunkys in hordes.

I also found 3 shinies today in Friend Safari including all 3 Pokemon in one safari in under 300 encounters total. I was in a Ground safari and I've found 1 of the Pokemon like 4 times before.

Today my target was Camerupt. I first found a shiny Palpitoad at 230, then Phanpy at 18 and finally Camerupt at 45.

What is this? I did 460 old amber resets for Aerodactyl late last year then put it on hold.

Yesterday I did 140 more resets then today I did 56 more old amber resets and got the shiny Aerodactyl at 656 total old amber resets.

I also moved over to route 22 for Azurill since it has a higher chance of appearing there. I'm going to continue fossil resetting but for Omanyte now.

I have my first Ultra Sun Shiny:

Shiny Female Nuzleaf (Paige)- Caught after about an hour or so of looking in Ultra Wormholes I was actually looking for Ultra Beast Kartana in this particular run but couldn't find a White Portal so went into a Green one. I was very surprised to see a red masked Nuzleaf watching me. She has a Quirky nature and is Level 60.

Whilst Ultra Wormhole Shinys are said to be relatively common I am very pleased to find a Shiny. What's more I am doing a Grass Monotype at the moment in Ultra Sun so this Pokemon can be used in my in-game team and will soon be evolved into Shiftry. :)

I'm still trying for that male Burmy (over 22,000 encounters so far), but I saw a video that made me curious about something.

There's a glitch in DPPt/HGSS that can drastically increase your Shiny odds if you use Cute Charm with the right gender and Secret ID. I've clearly not got the right ID for this trick to work (nor do I want it), but I was wondering if it's possible to have a Secret ID that, when paired with Cute Charm or not, might lock you out of getting a Shiny Pokémon of a specific gender. It could just be coincidence, but every Shiny I've found so far in my current HGSS files have been female (apart from genderless Magnemite).

I hope this makes sense. I just don't want to keep at it on these games if it's in vain.

Also, does closing the DS reset the RNG in DPPt/HGSS?
