Oh. Well, that's too bad. The Imperial Japanese Military is probably one of the most melodramatic military in history. They win, hardly anyone of their people die. They lose, only a few men comes out of the battlefield. But yeah, the raids and the two big ones are the most discussed features of the American-Japanese war, unfortunately. The latter was a last ditch attempt to avoid further American casualties and war expenditure, but it's mostly referred to as a crime against humanity now-a-days.

Seeing as how the course syllabus of my American History class beings with "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of...power?", I'm not surprised that you learned to associate the American Army with that (I live in Canada, like you). But the German's military performance was admirable, and not the American military which zipped through the Pacific?

Edit: I guess I shouldn't say "my" American History class, but "my school's." I'm not taking that course because of credit and schedule complications.
