  • I suppose that's good. They aren't permanent so it's not like if whoever wins the Manga Caption Contest, for example, will have access to custom user titles for life, maybe they'll want to enter the Anime PAT and reclaim their custom user title. At my current post rate, I'd say it would take me 2-3 weeks to reach 50. I don't post a whole lot so 50 points sound reasonable.
I just realized that April is final exam month (where I go, at least) so the older crowd may not be as active... I see custom user titles as something that shouldn't be awarded very often because the more people who have them, the less valuable they'll be. But that decision is all up to you.
And I'll try to get at least 2 streams so the total should be 10+ streams/20+ points. To be fair for everyone we should announce the streams like a week ahead of time and have them at different times of the day due to everyone being in different time zones. Having a goal with a fixed number will let everyone know what exactly they're aiming for and the custom user title is the cherry on top :P
Maybe you could give a participation emblem for those who make if half way and another emblem for those who finish. A custom user title could be awarded to whoever reaches the goal first or earns the most points. I was thinking that you could give points when someone joins a stream.
I'm just sitting over here winging it when it comes to activity ideas.

I guess a master plan for activity improvement couldn't hurt, though.
That sawkward moment when 4 hours of sleep is normal... Forgot I had to print something before I would forget to do it in the morning, but real talk I'm done after this reply. I left you hanging because I have no idea as to what the twist could be. Maybe the prize will be Tier 6 Supportership lmao. The posts will be easy to count if you have participants keep track of their posts in a main thread.
    That would have been fantastic!

I'll probably have something that's not a post-a-thon going on then.
Just think how much better DP could have been with a bigger budget!

I want to do one soon, and I'll probably have it coincide with the tournament I'm running with Ozzy, or run it shortly after.
I'm calling it quits for the night though. I have to wake up in 4 hours :\
I'm with you on combining posts and points but what exactly will the points mean? Like when that person gets 7 points, do they reach their daily goal? My biggest worry is that the event is losing its originality. People might not want to do it because we stole someone else's idea. We need to incorporate a major twist IMO
It's ridiculous what actually throwing a little money at a show can do to revive it.

Idk. Whenever I'm not feeling like a tired old fart, I guess.
The VG one is clever because points go with video games, so it would be cool to associate some type of system with the anime (don't ask me how haha). I do like the points system more than the plain 3 posts a day thing. Like 10 points per post in each section, 15 points per thread in the main section, and 30 points per thread in the Ep. Discussion (because there can only be one Jap. discussion thread and one Eng. review thread per week). Although the VG seems awfully short being two weeks IMO. April sounds good because everyone will have recuperated from the current two by then. As far as the point goal and time frame go, you'll have to use your observations from your section's activity and trends over the past (insert time that you've been an active member of Pokémon Anime here). I think donavannj is doing one for the TCG so you might want to talk to him about it because participating in multiple Post-A-Thons at the same time seems like a tough thing to juggle.
What about doing one of these things once a year?

They sound fun and they promote activity (which will keep you even busier :P). Although I'd wait until those two are finished. Along with Feb. and Oct., that's a quarter of the year covered for events. Adding a caption contest, GT (which isn't Anime exclusive but it keeps everyone busy as a whole), and another month long event (to be decided), that's half of a year's worth of content. Have each event take place every other month - focusing on WAC and streaming during the off months - and there's a whole year of content.
If you plan on hosting events at the same rate that you did last year (??? before July, GT in July, Halloween in October, Valentine's in February) then I think the entry phases could begin when the events begin. Voting will occur during the following month, repeat.
I think we should have people make their cards from scratch and have people vote on the best design and for the best text. Perhaps you could modify the gallery event?
I'm stuck on deciding what to do. Are we going to use screenshots taken straight from the anime or will the templates feature an element from the anime?
Yes, power to the people. We're already judging one event anyways so it'd be fair to make this event a democracy. But with anything goes, will it be up to the participant to find an image or will we supply all of the images? Or will the participant have to make the card from scratch?
