PC's First Sword and Shield OU Tournament

I got chewed up by D_A. Good luck in round 2. (Got bodied so hard I've uninstalled Showdown and left my pokemon Discord channels, haha)

Count me in! I haven't played competitively in a loooong time. Gonna be interesting...

    6th Gen Mega Starters Confirmed!

They had a chance to make things right and Sceptile got the short end of the stick again. Lightning Rod is kind of redundant when Grass/Dragon has a 4x resistance to Electric moves already... :( Might prove useful in Doubles, however, which is the only metagame that exists in Nintendo's eyes...

6th Gen OR/AS Chit Chat + CoroCoro Discussion

That makes sense. Looks like Mega Blaziken was foreshadowing the other MEvos and thus these games. Hopefully they take the chance to give Sceptile another lease on life. I'm pretty stoked for these games, so hopefully they don't drain the magic RSE always had.

    Ohhhh Controllers

Get out of my head, you wonderful, wonderful person! I use a Wired 360 Controller when comfort>precision. Razer Mamba+Blackwidow otherwise. Although I've been considering rigging one of these up for emulation: looks like bliss, although the triggers/shoulders apparently leave something to be...

I've never used a case. I've tried them and I just can't stand the extra bulk. I'm very careful, though, so my phone is in really good condition, despite 3 years of case-less use. If it's your first SSD, you're in for a nice surprise. The ONLY downsides are reduced space (not really an issue...

For clarity, ULV is ultra low voltage, which designates low-power versions of CPUs. Try are generally assigned "U" suffix, but if you stay over 2GHz, you're pretty safe. Come back to us with the specs when you think you've decided on something, Axeliira. I use 192kb/s, as the DAC in the iPhone...

Specs, yes; portability, no. The reason laptops can fit so much in such a small space is that they use proprietary parts, which they can have made in any particular shape, such that it fits within their design. Should they be using standardised parts (which would be crucial for...

It's just recalculating the remaining charge more accurately. It's not actually going back up :P I'm still very impressed with the battery life I'm getting out of my iPhone 4. It's about 3 years old and I still get up to 2 days out of it. It's pretty damned slow on iOS 7, but the battery is...

It seems I have different music tastes from other people here :P , but here are my choices: "Fortress" - Alter Bridge "House of Gold and Bones Part 2" - Stone Sour

My computer needs to be cheap, can play games, make coffee, etc.

Traditionally, memory refers to RAM, not drive/storage capacity. Personally, I just do my own builds for desktops, so I don't have to compromise unless price becomes an issue (which it would be at the moment, but fortunately, I already have what I need). For laptops, build quality and battery...

    Mathematics, discovered or invented?

Precisely. The Apple exists and has its properties regardless of whether we choose to describe or label it. The words and labels have been invented, but the reality they describe is discovered. What do you all think about the notion that maths, being perfect a perfect system (100% consistent...

    Ratchet & Clank

I only ever played the PS2 games (and Size Matters on PSP - the PS2 port was horrible). They were all great, although I'd have to rank them: 1. Going Commando (Locked and Loaded) 2. Up Your Arsenal 3. Ratchet and Clank 4. Deadlocked (Gladiator) 5. Size Matters When I have the money, I intend...

yo, check out my fast internet speedz, man.

Yeah, Uni internet is a beautiful thing: My home connection is somewhere in the order of 5MB Down/1MB Up, though. Faster would be nice, but it works well and it's super-stable. I can play with the ADSL profile to bump up to about 6/1.2, but the ping goes up and it's not always 100% stable.

    Mathematics, discovered or invented?

Maths is a perfect self-contained system. We represent it with an invented language and numeracy system to model things that we perceive and concepts we've invented, but maths itself is not invented.
