We are here praying for a coalition between the SPD and the Greens (with maybe eventual support from Die Linke). It's pretty ridiculous that we are here waiting for foreign elections but hell, we had a great party when Hollande won in France so we are kind of getting used to it. But the current policies of cuts and cuts and cuts won't help anything and only deepen the depression so our only hope is for the international policymakers to change.
As a political journalist, I know very well about Bild (the German Sun). I found it very ridiculous last summer than it was cheaper in Mallorca than some of our local newspapers. That already says a lot about its quality.
And I'm a member of a political party too. Hopefully Europe won't go to hell anytime soon but the more we do something about it, the better.
And about the US, well, what can I say. We are Europeans, we are naturally predjuiced about against them. It's worth noting though that their Supeme Court has rejected the paranoid allegations about Obama's first step to having something resembling a health care system being an evil plot from the CPSU to take over America. Some of them have a brain. Although I do wish they had candidates like Hollande and not Romney around...
