  • Hehe. Oops. I guess I miscalculated. My mistake. Yeah. I was afraid that Vivillon was gonna be a tough Pokémon to do thanks to that little fact.

In my defense I was quite tired writing these up and took a few double-takes to edit some stats and I guess I didn't check the BST right.

I'll give it one more attempt. With proper calculations this time now that I'm not as tired. Heh. Stats are based from your changes.

    Mega Toucannon

    Type: Normal/Flying

    Ability: Gale Wings

    Stats:
    HP - 80
    Attack - 120
    Defense - 100 (+5)
    Special Attack - 120 (+45)
    Special Defense - 100 (+5)
    Speed - 105 (+45)
BST - 625 (Actually +100 this time. lmao.)

Not sure what the design could be. But Gale Wings is an ability that I think could be distributed around a bit more. Mixed Toucannon is always something I've wanted to mess around with (Boomburst's sheer power coming off 120 Base Special Attack is a little crazy. So feel free to tweak the concept if you like it. It's still blanked by Ghost-types, at least.)

Other ability ideas are keeping Skill Link. Or perhaps giving it Sniper due to the "cannon" part of it's name. Cool to know Florges is getting a regional though! Thanks for being so receptive of my ideas even if my maths was totally off. Heh.
That's fair. I was mainly going on less about Special Raichu and more Physical. But that makes sense.

I guess I'm just underwhelmed with Misty Terrain and kinda let my own ideals get the better of me. You make valid arguements against both these points.

My idea was mainly for Florges (though I don't think it needs a Mega I do think we need some Gen 6 Mega Pokémon.) Which would look something like:

    Mega Florges

    Type: Fairy

    Ability: Queenly Majesty

    Stats:
    HP - 78
    Attack - 65
    Defense - 88 (+20)
    Special Attack - 132 (+20)
    Special Defense - 164 (+10)
    Speed - 95 (+20)
    BST - 622 (+60)

The design would be a more colourful head "bouquet" with a regal cape made of petals, using the original colour of the Florges (Red cape for Red Florges, White cape for White Florges etc.) And perhaps a staff of some kind. Florges gives me a sort of "Queen of the flowers" vibe. So I thought this would be a fun idea.

    And for another concept:

    Mega Vivillon

    Type: Bug/Fairy

    Ability: Multiscale

    Stats:

    HP - 80
    Attack - 52
    Defense - 100 (+50)
    Special Attack - 150 (+60)
    Special Defense - 100 (+50)
    Speed - 69 (-20)
    BST: 511 (+100)

Design wise I think this Vivillon could use it's powdered scales as a sort of "shield". Think like Mega Steelix's debris, but it has innate control over them. Fairy-type is to difference it from Butterfree and break up the abundance of other Bug/Flying-types. And I feel like a bulky bug as a Mega could fit a fun niche on certain teams. In terms of balancing it out overall. Probably remove Iron Defense from Spewpa. Giving it vulnerability on the Physical side.

Anyway. Hope one of those caught your eye. If you had a different Pokémon in mind I'd be more than happy to toss an idea or two your way. I tried not to come up with new abilities as to not make them too much more effort in terms of coding and the like.
That's no problem if you miss posts. You're only one person and I can only imagine how much is on your plate.

One thing I do also wanna mention is that the Pikachu line is a spot underwhelming. When I saw how few changes it got I was a little disappointed. Making Raichu compatible with Light Ball is cool and giving them both Extreme Speed is fun. But it's abilities are still a little bit "meh" in my personal opinion.

Maybe giving it Teravolt or something. Sounds like it would be funny. Especially given the amount of Pokémon with Lightning Rod (Or in Rotom-Fan's case, Motor Drive). Otherwise Reckless for Volt Tackle with Double-Edge to also make use of it could be cool.

Speaking of which, mainly for convenience. Would you consider giving Pikachu/Raichu Volt Tackle as a level-up/evolution move? Maybe just Raichu since getting the Friend Ball and catching a Pichu and levelling it up once, evolving it early on into learning a 120BP move seems a little ridiculous.

Also. Misty Terrain kinda sucks. Both in base Pokémon and IE since halving Dragon-type moves helps no one but other Dragons. Would you consider making it buff Fairy-type attacks instead? So it actually has a purpose instead of being a field-wide Safeguard.

Just my two cents, again. I like leaving my suggestions for you to consider and I hope I don't get too obnoxious or anything. You're actually really fun to talk to. Haha.

(Also just realising in my last message I said Dark/Ghost Inteleon instead of Water/Ghost. Oops. Heh. Also wanted to know if you'd like to hear some of my concepts for Mega Pokémon. Would be cool to see a concept of mine show up in a hack as prestigious as IE.)
Were you going to give the Gen 8 starters secondary types, or keep them Pure-types? I think I read somewhere on the thread for Inclement that their G-Max forms don't make good Mega sprites and you'd prefer to give starters (barring those that already have them) buffs instead of new Mega forms.

If that was the plan, making Cinderace (Easily the strongest of the three) Fire/Electric would be cool, though I can understand if you don't feel it fits. (Maybe give it an ability to buff kicking moves and give it an Electric-type Blaze Kick. 'Bolt Kick' maybe?) But I think it fits onto Cinderace more than any other Pokémon. (I suggested this on a comment in the thread but I don't believe you acknowledged it?)

Rillaboom would make a fine Grass/Ground type to offset the Earthquake/Bulldoze nerf those moves suffer during Grassy Terrain. Also. It's roots travel underground during Drum Beating. So it feels the most appropriate. (Also STAB Earthquake coming from Rillaboom's Attack sounds destructive.)

Finally, I think while a lot of people would argue Inteleon to be Water/Dark. That feels a bit too common for me. So I think Dark/Ghost would be a cooler, more interesting type combination. (Especially since it can learn Shadow Ball already. And a move like Shadow Sneak sounds perfectly befitting of a spy.)

Don't feel pressured to keep writing back. Heh. It's just super cool to discuss my random ideas with the creator of probably my favourite difficulty hack. I think you even surpassed Drayano, who previously kept me hooked with BB2/VW2. Keep up the good work.
Being a complete beginner to difficulty hacks, should I play in set or shift style, also if I do shift style is that cheating and being cheap or is it okay? Same with level caps.
Haha. Crazy. Great minds think alike, huh? It's really awesome that you're so receptive and kind to queries and feedback. It takes a certain kind of person to have patience like yours. You seem like an awesome guy to hang out with.

As for the abilities. I never would have thought about giving Boltund Speed Boost. That's such a perfect ability for it! Keeping it mixed also allows you to build it into your team rather than having to build your team around it. Which is always a plus.

Gravity on switch-in sounds powerful but would only really work if it's moveset accomodated. So hopefully you give it some low accuracy moves without going too overboard. (Thunder/Hurricane Compound Eyes Orbeetle sounds absolutely terrifying and I love it. Haha. Though you probably have a better idea.)

It's a little saddening to hear progress isn't going as quickly as you'd like. I would absolutely help in any way I can if I had the skills and knowledge, 100%. But I feel you wouldn't have time to teach someone your crazy tech-wizardry that's far out of my understanding in the present moment. Haha.
Hey Buffel! I know Gen 8 data has been implemented already. But I wanted to give some suggestions for buffing otherwise underwhelming Pokémon.

My first suggestion is giving Greedent Harvest as a Hidden Ability. Being a Pokémon focused on berries. It feels appropriate and also could be quite a powerful ability in tandem with Stuff Cheeks. No stat changes required, as I feel that would be enough to tip it over towards being a bit more desirable. Could be fun in Drought teams as well.

My second suggestion would be to give Orbeetle (or Mega Orbeetle, if that was a plan) an ability to increase the power of moves in Gravity. Pushing a niche move into something more usable. Whether it automatically sets up Gravity on switch-in or not is entirely up to you for balancing purposes. If not. Perhaps automatic Trick Room could make it a fun, viable strat for slow teams. (Permanent TR, perhaps?)

As a final suggestion. Change Boltund's Hidden Ability to Moxie and give it Strong Jaw and Defiant as it's normal abilities, and a little more Attack.

Not sure how much you've changed on these Pokémon. But some ability changes I feel would push their potential a bit more. Especially to be in line with your phenomenal hack.

Of course I'm unsure how much effort any of my suggestions would take. And I don't want to apply any pressure on you especially since I can only imagine how much work you put into this free hobby of yours.

Whether you accept these suggestions or have your own ideas in mind for all these Pokémon. Just know I'm super stoked and IE 2.0 can't come fast enough. But make sure to not let the pressure get to you, pace yourself. And have fun with it. Your "when it comes" mentality is something I can appreciate.

Best of luck in your future endeavours, whatever they may be.
What's your favorite regular Pokémon, Mega Evolution, and Gigantamax form? For me it's Oddish, Mega Altaria, and Gigantamax Cinderace.
Hey, I really love your RomHack. And the best part is you have mega Kingdra.
I have mega kingdra sprites if you wish to use
    Spoiler:
One more small one for now, will the brand new mega evolutions (like Flygon and Milotic) that will be added to future versions possibly be from more recent generations like 4, 5, 6, and 7? Because I always found it a little disappointing that generations 4, 5, and 6 only got 7 out of the 48 mega evolutions.
A couple small questions, one is would mega evolutions for the Johto starters be possible for a future version? And two are you going to add an effect for when a terrain is active? Like how Radical Red makes it look greener for a grassy terrain.
What about the pokemon in the special encounters doc like: Keldeo and Celebi and Mew? Can they be shiny?
Hello, I have a question regarding your USUM rom hack. Are the version exclusive legendary Ultra Wormhole pokemon shiny locked? like Reshiram being in UM?
Hey! I'm new here, but I made this account to tell you something and ask you a question:

-First off, I absolutely love this hack to death. It works perfectly on the *"44670 vgba-next-wasm"* website I use on my Iphone, date and time works fantastic, framerate is smooth and everything is perfect. I beat the game 3 times, once on hard strict lvl caps, once on expert strict lvl caps and once on normal no lvl cap but nuzlocke. I have done everything postgame except complete the pokédex too :)

-The question I have has stumped me for a while. I can't figure out why this emulator works so perfectly with your hack using system time but Radical Red absolutely does not. I'm very confused as to what is going on, and if you have any insight or ways to test solutions I would love you forever.

-ps. i'm only trying to play RadRed because I have completely milked your hack dry because I love it so much ❤️

-Emulator I use for iOS that has worked better than Eclipse by a long shot for many games

Ok, if you don't mind can you give me a quick briefing on how egg move transferring works in Inclement Emerald? I want to give strength sap to Vileplume for my planned team. (Side note is strength sap a good move for Vileplume?) I have no idea how breeding and egg move transferring works in any Pokémon game.
