assuming you were the one who stickied it, thank you! sign-ups were kinda slow but i'm sure if the thread weren't stickied sign-ups would have been slower. i actually put a cap on the game for a maximum of 12 players so as of yesterday the game is full, yippeee! the games are usually bigger (20-30 people) but i figured it would take quite some time to fill considering the interest base isn't very high. i was actually thinking of starting the game today around 6/7 EST just so i don't lose interest (i realized that 7 is approaching quickly so i might start around 8). what do you think about it starting today?

Oh, hey. I understand. I know that the system is set up the way that it is for a reason.

I was just referring to my own feelings which are extremely discontent with the whole upvote downvote structure of modern social networking. Reblogs, retweets, reddit points. I hate it - even though I have to use them in my field of specialization. I just have a longing for interaction which I feel these systems hinder. (Extremely restricted character counts and karma whoring)

I know it's just part of the modern structure of the internet and my feelings aren't necessarily true from an empirical standpoint - People up/downvoting may very well not have contributed to the discussion otherwise. (However small I may find it.) I view these systems as the social equivalent of potato chips. Which makes it dreadful seeing as how so many people use the internet/electronics for communication and take a lesser commitment to interpersonal relationships. (There's nothing immoral about it, I just find it unhealthy and crippling in the long run)

So yeah, that was just sort of my personal preference 2 cents pitch in which I thought raised some issues at least worth considering about online communities.
