You should totally give programming a try! Unfortunately that's the only part of game development that I have any real experience in, but I've been trying to get into the digital art and modeling lately.

If you're looking for something funny, I would whole heartedly recommend Kill La Kill. It's a great series, and absolutely hilarious at times xD a few others off the top of my head...

The first one I watched? Let's see, that's a tough one...but I believe the first one I ever sat down and watched was Gundam Wing back when I was a kid and it came on Toonami :)
