I saw the Hobbit today. As I was walking out from the theater, I was thinking to myself: Wow. 18 children from Conneticuit will never see this awesome film. Nor will the other teachers who died with them. Nor will all the children killed in U.S. drone strikes or people who have lost their lives in the Syrian Civil war, the War on Terror, or anyone else who has died up until this point. They won't see this film, nor will they be with their families again, or enjoy the good things in life. Because someone decided to be a scumbag. Because someone decided that, instead of seeking help for his problems, decided to abuse the rights given to him to hurt other people.
I cried.
It's a weird feeling how the simple things in life make you think of others.
