Oh, another thing I would like would be battle arenas. Don't get me wrong, I loke the blue one we have now, but I'd like to see something different Inc in a while. They allow us to select Music, so why not a Battle Arena?

My hope would to not allow moves that aren't status moves to status or flinch players. It's really unfair, and can give the less skilled opponent or player who played worse to win

To be honest, all of them did need Megas to be viable in VGC though. I'd actually be a little bummed out if there were no new Megas. New Mega evolutions means we get to see Pokemon that wouldn't be viable otherwise see usage

Thats because they lowered the level of the first few gym leaders teams. As I'm sure you have realized by now it gets harder I found Drake a bit challenging tbh but other than that, they still weren't that hard. But then again R/S/E weren't that hard either.
