  • Oh, glad to meet you buddy! :)
Sorry for late reply, i've been busy lately.
And about that, my PC is new, so my works are lost, i think. But you can download it at PHO. I think it is still there :)
Go back to the original table, find the address, make it a pointer and replace all instances with your new pointer.
Oh, sorry about the A0 thing. I was thinking wrong. It's because the decimal value doesn't matter. The value of Fairy is A8, mana is AC, Chaos is C0. You make the mistake of not counting the very first row, the one with the glitches poke all. You should have gotten the offsets for the new image when you inserted the image using NSE. You would press 'insert' then you press OK, then it'd say, 'insert at (address)'. The offset of the table is the the offset where the table starts. Like I said, add one more set of 00s and FFs before FAIRY in your name table.
About your second post. ..A0 IS 100. I don't know how you got 160. However, you are incorrect about the way to get the coordinate. It should be ((rows - 1) x 20) plus ((columns - 1) x 4). Remember all the calculations should be in HeX.
For the name table, it should be M A N A ff 00 00 C H A O S ff 00. Also, you have to add a new set of 00s and FFs between The previous set and 'Fairy' because the new type starts at 0x17
And yes, you have to repoint no matter what now. Or else you overwrite data.
Okay, about your first post. It's in the tut section. Just Ctrl+F 'DestinedJagold' or look for 'adding new types in Ruby'
I think DestinedJagold's tut has offsets for Emerald. But if it doesn't, sorry, can't help you. I'm don't really hack Emerald
Well, judging by your work, it is a simplified version of my tutorial that can only be done once, correct? So yes it will definitely help a beginner get their feet wet since mine can be slightly challenging if you have never used a hex editor before. So yes, I do say that your's is the easiest way to do and it will help beginners.
I literally wrote a tutorial that does this exact same thing, albeit in different wording.... I'll approve it, but idk man.
