  • I'm pretty sure that '\' is the only way to trigger the :\ smilie. I dunno, I guess it just looks better to me like that.
What I meant was that I need to have an area mapped out before I can script for it. Otherwise, my applymovements might end up making somebody walk over a tree or something like that.
Don't worry, I'll make a decent map one of these days and post it. In fact, I might just make a map for fun. Actually, that big map was actually made just for the competition but halfway through, I decided that I could probably use it in my hack as an event for a legendary pokémon.
Sure thing. I made a route recently but it's nothing special; just a simple route that comes early in the game. I'm not too fond of it so I probably won't post it. I think the problem is that I squeezed out every ounce of creativity I had and put it into that one map. So now I've got nothing left D:
I think I have to take a break from mapping for a bit, maybe focus on scripting. Though the problem is, I've reached the point in my scripting where I need to do some mapping in order to be able to script :\
Maybe I'll just go back and fix up some old scripts and stuff. I think I'm overdue for a general polishing of my work.

Yeah I saw Austinia's map. I don't like the mountain shape or the tree placement (it's too natural in my opinion) but it's still nice to see an old face return.
I was just talking to Vrαi about that :O
It'll be good to see your face around these parts again. Don't forget to vote in the ROM Hacker Awards thread, by the way. Now that sasquatchd00d is ineligible, I finally have a chance :P
Yup. Schools starts in less than a week so I'm trying to squeeze in as much work as possible while I still can. My goal is to get a thread up (and a release of decent length, if I can) by the end of the year. It'll be too late for HotY but 1) I'm not expecting to win anything and 2) I believe that in order for a hack to be eligible, it should have been around since June at the earliest. Distant placed as well as it did last year because it was new and fresh in people's minds at the time of HotY nominations, despite the fact that very little work had been done on it.
Yup! :( Man, the part I cried on was when Edward and Al were riding away on the train, and Ed saw Hughes on the station and Hughes was waving at him, then disappeared. I was like "O_____O ... ;________;" XD
Yeah. Wasn't it you who pointed that one out to me too? ^^
Well, I'm off to go do some graphics work. I think I'm going to either design a new textbox or edit the battle screen graphics. Or maybe the Pokémon screen (the one accessible from the menu). Hm, possibilities...
Maes Hughes was the guy with dark hair, scruffy beard, and glasses who went on and on about his little girl through the entire series.
Hm, that's weird. I was able to get AdvanceMap running on my Mac using Darwine but I don't think I've ever seen those tiles before. Yeah, they kinda look like the tiles in Mossdeeps' Gym but they're a little different. What's weird is it's not just a tileset, the programmers actually made blocks with the tiles and even gave some behavior bytes.
Well, if they aren't used by any map, then I don't know what to say. I guess they're just unused tiles
Oh, Sho is awesome. xD There's also Josh, but I know a lot of people dislike him.. :/
I don't have access to AdvanceMap at the moment but I'll check on my hacking computer later tonight and get back to you about that, probably tomorrow.
