I'm self taught. 90% of my highly talented musician friends know squat about music theory. I played piano from 1st to 3rd grade, and xylophone from 3rd to 8th. Picked up piano again in 9th, dropped it in 10th. But those were the times I played seriously. Even now, I jump on it once in a while and just play something.
I'd rather just teach myself everything tbh. Much easier that way, since my schedule is always so packed and volatile.
Big programming projects are dumb. They violate the fundamental principles of software. Even in 2015, people are still making this mistake.
