  • I'm still with you, as always, but I think I've been venturing away from fakemon. In my opinion, we should stick with maybe finishing the chains that we have and leaving the amount of fakes to that number. I think it would be a lot better if we focused more on good scripting and events. I don't go on MSN anymore, but I check this forum every day or two, so writing me a note here is fine. c:
lol Windows 7 is a good OS too. I just got it, It's simple and convenient...I feel like I'm advertising it. Yeah Hacking does have some barriers ha ha, just remember Game making does too, but that's limited to your abilities or what you're willing to try or learn.
I didn't Ignore it lol. I just haven't found time to reply to any messages yet. I just got a bit of time today so I responded to all my VMs. That's good to know though lol. What made you change?
So Mac... this is Vanitas~, formerly XIV. Just wanted to let you know who I was before I added you. I'm gonna be using this as my main for awhile, so I thought I'd add you.
I'm decent at drawing people. Decide for yourself:
Cole and Melanie. Two trainers for my project =P
Well I don't think I can do any Battle BGs =P Haven't even got to that stage on my project as well XD
Sure. School ends in about a week, so I'll be happy to help you out. Hey, question. Torzach's a hack and all I know... but what would you think about changing it to a real game? I mean, not a hack, but something to go in the "games" part of the forum as opposed to that "hacks"
yes I do know it xD. You have really good fakemon, want to see how it will look like now that it's a game ^^.
I just asked if you went to the beach because I couldn't think of anything better. ~_~
    Your Chinese is epic. n_n

    Oh, really?
Bonjour, monsieur. Est-ce que tu va la plage? Je ne t'ai pas vu depuis un moment. Où avez-tu été?

    Aha, working on my French.
Unless your decision isn't finalised, then no. Discussion of hacks is only tolerated; discussion of games is in Game Development.
Mac? I don't mind sticking around and helping with a few odds and ends. I just dunno what kind of time I'll have. I'm getting ready for college, job-hunting, etc. Plus, I won't have a computer of my own til the first of the month if even then. However, like I said, I'm still here.

Just curious, and feel free to move this to PM, but what happened to you? You just dropped off from existence for like a month or so. Vannah disappeared, Lyzo for awhile, etc. Have you heard from ANYONE?
Sorry, nope. I kinda strode away from Torzach . . . I still have alot to learn about spriting though. Vannah was still training me. :)
Out of curiousity what program would you be using to make Torzarch in to a game? :) Either way, what ever you decide, I can't wait to see how it progresses.

    Swift
I have an hour off from school xD So I'm back home :P

Great that I can join :)

    About scripting:
Scripting in game making is a lot different from scripting in hacking. Scripting in hacking is making events (talking events, ect.), while scripting in game making is adding new features to the system itself, for example, the possibility of adding a dual screen or wifi trading. So you won't really need scripts unless you want to add extra features (or change things such as menu's or add mobile phones, or whatever xD). The main thing you use for making the game is events and making events is pretty straight forward :P

There are also many scripts out there that people have made public. You can just copy paste those into your game to get extra features :) Although poccils starter kit already has almost everything a Pokemon ROM already has, except for things such as online trading, mystery gift, dual screen and stuff of the newer games (such as the new moves of the 4th gen). Another major disadvantage of game making is that there are only about 10 battle animations incorporated :\ It'll take some work to either rip those from ROM's or to make them, but hey I'm getting way ahead of myself, you're still not sure whether to turn it into a game yet ^^

Anyway, I personally think that that there are way more advantages such as inserting (like you said, copy/paste :D), there are no pallette issues, you have much more room (so the game can be a lot bigger), and the tilesets can become huge which allows a big variety in tiles :), adding things such as moves and Pokemon is a lot easier, there are just a lot less limits to game making than to ROM hacking... :P

But it's your decision, I'm just giving you my insights xD

Oh, and has anyone else joined yet?
Me and a friend of mine are making a game of our own :P

He's mapping (and he's quite good really xD) and well I'm doing the rest :P making events, inserting stuff, ect...

Anyway, I got to leave for school now, but I'll probably see you tonight on msn... Because you should consider all the advantages and disadvantages seeing as it is quite different from hacking.

But I think either way (hacking or game making), I'd want to join the team again :) If you'd let me xD
