Whoa, I'll check that out. Kanji is definitely my weak point too right now, but you practise writing it enough you'll get it. I find that rote memorisation is a poor technique, so maybe you wanna try something else to change it up! Nothing better than reading/writing/immersion :)

I've got Genki I and II in PDF format if you're interested. I started X in Japanese, but choosing to use Kanji was a bad idea for me too -- I'm so lost! The earlier games are kana only so maybe you wanna start there instead to get a better feel for it?

I also noticed your interest in Korean and Chinese (pretty must East Asian languages haha)...we're basically matching! Though my Chinese is much poorer and Korean is non-existent except for the writing system :(

Well, help is always necessary in the beginning. What are you using to study with? I've been using the Genki books, have been going since early September.

Just started to practise now by playing Pokemon Gold in Japanese. It's hard but I feel like just jumping in full exposure is the best way to learn, you know? You should try something like that sometime!
