  • Hey, I am using no$gba, okay, and you know how the max speed is supposedly 200%? Well, when I set it to MHz Disaster 10%, walking outside was at 200% about, inside a building was at 220-250%, and battles are at 500-600%! Faster grinding FTW! The menu is almost too fast, though, so it can get dicey when you're trying to switch your team around. If you set it to MHz Disaster 50%, walking is 150 and battles are like 350 I think. And there's no frame skip either.

Although I'm not too clear on whether you use an emulator or not. MHz 10 is better on HG/SS since you can use the mouse for everything except moving the character around.

I typically slow it down for gym leaders, though.
Well, I find that Sinnoh is less sucky if you play on Platinum - faster gameplay and the trainers give more experience, so less grinding at the end. Diamond and Pearl can get real annoying with a monotype, especially if you have 5-6 members.

The extra thing in Emerald is usually optional - beating Steven's L75-78 steel team.
yeah I'm working on number three and four - fighting and ground, hopefully I won't have to do Hoenn for ground again. Although I prefer to play each type by itself, rather than the games like you did for RBY, lol. Whatever works, I guess. Also, the third gen is much faster on Ruby/Sapphire, than Emerald due to the VBA speed button boosting to 700% rather than 400%, by the way.
ummm...what do you mean? I mean, time willing, I plan to try as many as I can, although it will be hard to do, especially since B/W is coming up as well. Monos are fun for me.
well, in my fighting monotype on Yellow I have three members - Poliwrath, Machamp, and Primeape, and I got them to L58 before Victory Road, which is high enough for the Elite Four already. Although Machamp is an in Game trade, so boosted exp, and I caught a Poliwhirl at L40, so I guess that helped. It just surprised me lol. I probably didn't need to fight all the Grunts in Sliph, either...
alright but to get alakazam you would have to trade to evolve him so why not just trade over an already leveled up guy? also you could save all the rare candies and what not till the end, catch someone on victory road and use it on them. and there was something else but i forgot XD
alrighty well how many people do you have so far? just me and you? haha we could deff work something out (are we sure this guy didn't modify his game in anyway?) we'll have to play through and figure every tiny detail we can about the game, like you said, figuring out what trainers give what for exp and so on and so forth
yeah man sounds insane though beating pokemon in under two hours? I don't own a version or red or blue anymore though :(
When you get the chance could you add me to the the list of challengers for the single monotype. Its ground type in Fire Red. Thanks
Cool, thanks for the tip, I was planning on using a team along the lines of Tauros, Miltank, Furret & Wigglytuff, so thanks!
thanks i wasnt actually planning on doing a UMC but then i realised that i had all the games except black and white so i thought heh why not :)
