  • I'm doing due research.

My Pawniard might be legit. from Fokko. ID is the same as other non-Shiny trades (29954) from when he was The-Veteran (I checked four). It was hatched two days before I claimed Dark type, so wasn't bred specifically for gain in any way. Lilith said that the ID changes every time - key word, EVERY - that the Shiny hack is used, and it clearly did not here. I think it's legit. and I asked Lilith's opinion on that, so there might still be a chance I can use it.
I know I have received other trades, but that is the only Shiny. 5IV and Egg Moves are so easy to do now (possibly two or three in a day) that, even if my other trades from him are hacked, I have no way of knowing; since he only hacked Shininess, I'm keeping the non-Shinies. I might also breed a baby from the Pawniard before sending it out since Pawniard is part of my battle strategy ATM.
I did. It is. I told Lilith Jr's ID, 29954. Since others may be named Jr (hey, I actually found a "Cyclone" out there, don't laugh), I figured that might help.
Also, if I do not EV Malamar's Speed, it means Malamar itself also gets a first strike against a good opponent if it's so lucky. :)

In any case, I have a new Azumarill with 5IVs (cutting Special Attack, that was lucky) and about to EV train that one. The Lv.37 6IV one I have might become trading material. Or I can keep it to breed with a 5IV female. Undecided.
Exactly. Mega Absol or whoever would have to go before it, then Malamar in the fourth or fifth slot to employ it for Azumarill in the sweep position. If the battle goes poorly before then, it doesn't matter whether this happens or not; it it goes rather well, it may not even occur. In an even match with two left, if Malamar can't get a weakness on someone, using Trick Room will be the deciding gambit since it could get murdered in that scenario; the hope is that a strong physical move gets to go first and gives me the winning chances. Since it only lasts, I think, four turns once Azumarill switches in (Malamar would have to go last to activate it, -7 priority), it has to be a late gambit or it has to be timed perfectly to give Azumarill a good opponent, and I can try to plan for the opponent being switched instead of the opponent in front of me because it will surely be switched. This ties in with the fact I play chess; trying to think two moves ahead.
Hmm. Here's an interesting idea. Using Trick Room to give Azumarill a Speed boost. It lasts five turns; Malamar can use it in a tight spot, potentially getting knocked out the next turn (or swapped), and Azumarill then jumps in with its 50 in Speed and can wail away with Aqua Tail, Superpower, and Play Rough for three turns with its Huge Power. When Trick Room wears off, it can use Aqua Jet for the go-first status until it's defeated. This might make it a good late-battle strategy.

    Thoughts/improvements?
BTW, I did get my 6IV Houndour, but I used two Destiny Knots instead of sticking on an Everstone, a nature error. I ended up with a Bold one instead. I can fix that later, I'll use what I bred for now and if I have time to change it before things open, I'll use that 6IV and the proper nature Ditto to do it. Otherwise, no biggie for now. I need to have a weakness anyway. :)
Very good then. I'll go for the Adamant set, then. I think Choice Band is exclusively a Maison item, though; looks like I have to delay getting my last four TMs! I think I have enough for that item...
Yeah, I had those three moves set up for a Physical plan as they are favourite moves of mine. It literally has to outspeed whatever it goes up against with Belly Drum, however. Since 50 is the base speed there, as well, anything else with maxed out EVs invalidates Belly Drum. I see the point of Huge Power, but if teams are announced and they see my Azumarill with Huge Power, I have a feeling it will be planned for. I definitely can't lead with it and have to time its entry.

I know that Ice Punch and Ice Beam can be left off (Dragon weakness to Fairy makes that an option), but people like the Choice Band with Azumarill. That and Huge Power makes it a OHKO knockout machine. No?
Hey. I posted this on Euphoric's page but you're online, so going to copy it to you.

I looked up Azumarill and everyone advises give it a Physical moveset. However, its base SpA and Att are identical, at 50 each. Why does no one explore the Special move options?

For instance, I currently don't have access to Ice Punch. Until Move Tutors return, I clearly will not have access to Ice Punch on a 5IV-6IV specimen. I could move tutor it in 5th gen.; I just can't move backwards to get it. So if I want to cover Ice, I have to use Ice Beam, which is a stronger move. Coincidentally, if I put the EVs into the SpA instead, it becomes something a Dragon better not stand in front of.

Looking at other options, Surf is a move I already used with two Azumarill with great effect in the playthrough and in the GT11 challenge (I had to make it a Rain Dance user to meet the requirements, effectively making it a three move user; I had to use Leppa Berries during the E4). At this point, I can include Play Rough for Dragons or omit that (since I have Ice Beam) and use something like Aqua Ring, which may or may not be useful; perhaps combined with Leftovers. Superpower maintains itself where it's the only Physical move, so lowering Attack means nothing since my other attacks are not there.

    Thoughts?
It works, but requires more maintenance. We have to go in and delete blank entries. A more streamlined form would solve that, and I actually think the existing form is long-winded myself (hence why I never submitted my own info - granted I keep dealing with a full friend list and randomly adding people through profiles for trades anyway).

Just my opinion though. I'd still be happy to do a demo of it, I think I could bring you around. :)

It could even be two steps: FS type could be in step 1. I separated because it would be a long question.
Haha, I didn't think that idea would HM02 (did you see what I did there?). It would be some 68-72 per list, and I can see how that would be annoying.

HOWEVER...you could make it multi-step (I did this with an Animal Crossing "Stalk Market" poll once, I can show you). It would work like this:

Step 1: Enter username and friend code. Submit.
Step 2: Enter type of Safari (bulleted list, choose one). Submit.
Step 3: The poll will read the answer from Step 2. That answer generates the Pokémon in Slot 1, Slot 2, and Slot 3. You will only see those options.

If you'd like, create a copy of the poll on a new sheet and give me form access (it would have to be tested if it were to be officially used, afrer all). You and I, then maybe Endless and some other people as well, can just enter random (fake) data, or even enter actual data from the existing sheet at random in a single poll. It would be foolproof, easy, and there would be no blanks. They'd be properly ordered, too. :)
I deleted three blank entries from the Friend Safari list today (from the newest entries). They were people who signed up, on August 3 or August 6, and never returned (that being the last visit date).

When date joined = last visit > 3 (I took a gamble with the August 6 one, call it a vibe), the entry should not be made in the first place.

I think another TP edit is required. "Please only fill out the form if you know what your Friend Safari Pokémon are!" We can also change the Type, Pokémon 1, Pokémon 2, and Pokémon 3 fields to dropdowns with all the Pokémon in those slots as per Serebii's listings, thus requiring them to fill them in; that would cut down on blank entries and create less maintenance.
    Here are some suggestions:
-Replace Tyrantrum with something like a Carracosta. That further helps you against Fire, and Carracosta can Shell Smash. Your Fire types also synergize with it, being able to switch into Grass moves aimed at it. Tyrantrum isn't that great, imo, although if it's helped you, feel free to use it.
-Change Zard to X: I know I said that Drought would help you, but Zard X is more versatile and bulky than Y, and with a better typing. A defensive set would also form a nice core with Diancie imo.
-Maybe sub a Tyranitar in somewhere? This is more of a meta suggestion haha because Tyranitar is such a versatile and known as a good Pokemon in addition to being able to Mega Evolve, forcing your opponent to think about which Mega you could be using. Maybe good for one of your substitutes.
-Ninetales: By switching Zard X to Y you'd be giving up Drought, which Ninetales reinstates. It can also carry a Heat Rock, unlike Zard. It's also good for support, with Hypnosis and Will-o-Wisp. Overheat and Power Swap is a fun combo.
-Heatran: Mainly for its Steel typing, which is a very strong combination. Your team also tends to lean towards physical attackers, which Heatran obviously isn't. I'd suggest swapping one of the above two (Ninetales only if you're changing Zard) for Darmanitan, Infernape outclasses it imo.
Hey, would you be interested in battling my tentative team and looking at it? I could do the same.
I'm agreeable with Surf; my existing Lv.100 Torrent Greninja uses it instead for that very reason. Volt Switch would be a shocking reason (see what I did there?) to employ Dedenne on my team; 6IV mandatory for that if so, numbers are weaker except SpA and especially Speed. However, as noted, it might be faster anyway. The question is, can it be outsped for the one turn, then give its damage-inducing parting-gift? I can't EV-train it for Speed in that case, but training for other things seems almost pointless (SpA already planned, which Volt Switch acts upon, and physical sweepers don't necessarily have high SpD).

U-Turn I was questioning myself, but Volt Switch could be used here if I find a good application. If we get to know about teams coming to challenge us, I can even plan to install Volt Switch as a move where I see it being useful, but that commits Dedenne to my team. I better collect Heart Scales in that case, too...or technically, clone a Dedenne and keep both, swapping them in and out for challengers since they ARE the same Pokémon, quite literally, just different movesets and saves me Heart Scales...
