People exaggerate it a bit for the meme I think.

Honestly, I'm not sure it's as bad as people say. It's probably just got its crazy corners like anywhere else that large.

Twitter has been a pretty mundane experience for me but I mostly engage with writer/author Twitter.

yeah i think youre definitely at a disadvantage in terms of catching readership just based on what you prefer to write- a lot of people gravitate toward reading canon chars at the very least and shipping is still what tends to be "missing" for people out of canon as well. it def puts us with OC and non-ship writing preferences at a disadvantage in terms of scooping up hits and comments! the most i get outside commentary on really is just like, when i submit to writing contests. but it's fine, cause im just doing what i want bc i find it fun!

i really think we're in a weird place with comments like all across the board- something about the way the internet functions nowadays doesnt encourage them. but 71 hits is great! as is expanding the oc collection haha. a delightful pool of characters to play with!

It's very fitting for the world you're playing with to have everything have layers upon layers of depth, honestly.

Can't complain about the one I found most interesting getting the longest segment!

i get the vibe lmao things VERY quickly get out of hand when i write as well. it just ends up being so much fun that it expands like crazy!

unfortunately I just don't know enough about Genshin to immerse myself into associated works. i gave the thread a glance though and was super impressed by the scale of the project, holy crap!

I repeat: that is insane. Impressive, but insane. Then again, I've been worldbuilding for like 1.5 years now for a ttrpg setting which is also more worldbuilding than went into my book lmao.

My published novel is shorter than that. That is insane.

It's a genre that could do with some reinvention. I'm not a big fan of acrostic, but I like the idea of a poem or bit of prose hidden within a poem like that.
