Why, Ash? Why did you do that?

Charizard, like Squirtle and Gliscor, wasn't "let go". It can be called upon at any time to battle and has made several appearances since he was put into training. And he was let go because Cyndaquil needed time to shine. Bunch of whiners in this thread.

    Pokemon show silly questions

The game locations in the anime are similar to what they are in the games. Kanto and Johto are connected by land, I think Ash even just walked to Johto. Hoenn is far away, as is Sinnoh. I think Ash took a boat to get to both areas (and May took a boat to get to Sinnoh when she participated...

    Not Gotta Catch 'em All

Ash's was and still is to be a Pokemon Master. "Gotta Catch em all" was a tagline for the franchise, and is a translation of the Japanese line which is still in use today. The Japanese line is much simpler, roughly saying "Get Pokemon!". Also, it's just not realistic for someone to own...

Order of Pokemon Seasons to Movies

Most of these are the episode that aired the week before the movie opened. That isn't necessarily when the movie timeline takes place. Most of the movies don't reference current continuity too specifically. You'll likely see all of the trio's Pokemon, so you can judge based on evolutions and...

    Ash's Dad???

Only once, and in the Japanese raw, Ash's mom mentions his grandfather in the same sentence. I find that hard to believe. I doubt any interview revealed that, otherwise it would've been big news on the various Pokemon sites. No one said or implied that Ash can't have role model. But at...

Why Do Most People Hate Ash?

But according to like 6 other Internet Fans, he never loses. I like this complaint. Half the people are all like "he LOSES against newbies? lol" and the other half are "he never loses." Someone isn't watching the same show as I am. Cartoons are not the real world. If you wanted something...

Why Do Most People Hate Ash?

Not only that the anime takes on a more "realistic" battle so evolved doesn't automatically mean better, but even in the games, some lower evolutions do things that the upper evolutions can't. Pikachu has exclusive access to Light Orb. Magmar and Magmortar are both faster than their 4th gen...

Why Do Most People Hate Ash?

This isn't even remotely true. You mean he uses different Pokemon based on the region he's in, just like what happens in the games? How DARE a show promote the games! Also, you're again, wrong. Charizard, Bayleef (one evolution), Quilava (one evolution), Sceptile, Torterra, Infernape. The...

    American?

The poster above me pretty much nailed it. Localization of the franchise doesn't make it less Japanese in it's "raw" form. The entire Sinnoh region's plot is basically Pokemon's own take on the Shinto religion, the indigenous religion of Japan.

What makes the Pokemon anime so good?

I can't believe people are still complaining about this. Having two reoccuring rivals and a strong Team-something with an actual plot (along with Hunter J) has added a lot more action than usual. Or at least more action that means something, rather than meaningless battles with COTD...

Why Do Most People Hate Ash?

There is more to Pokemon battles than the typing of moves or Pokemon. I like how many Ash haters have to go back OVER A DECADE to dig this electric on a ground type thing up, and justify how they hate Ash for it. First off, the game mechanics, especially when it...

Can the anime redeem itself in 5th gen?

I remember it happening in the first movie. The only ground type I remember being attacked by Pikachu in recent movies was when Ash battled Torterra in Movie 10's opening. In his defense, Torterra doesn't really look like a ground type. And Torterra just shook off the Thunderbolt attack...

Can the anime redeem itself in 5th gen?

When was the last time an electric attack hurt a ground type? The only times I remember this happening is in Kanto, which seems to get glossed over by the KANTO IS THE BEST crowd.

Can the anime redeem itself in 5th gen?

The trainer as a view of the entire battle field. Pokemon only have the view of wherever their facing. Unless you're Claydol, which has like, 4 eyes (technically 8, but it's sprite depicts only 4 being open).

Can the anime redeem itself in 5th gen?

Have you people who are complaining about the lack of plot even been watching Sinnoh? Or complaining about fillers while worshiping Kanto and Johto? What are you smoking?
