Yeah, architecture is one of the most underappreciated professions. Nobody gets to appreciate it except we arch.students and architects.
I mean, do you think a firm would last without even a headquearters? Do you think we would have all these technology had houses and buildings were non existent? Probably not. In addition to that, architecture actually dictates or somehow affects people subconsciously with their actions, moods, and culture. Its actually one of many things that makeup our everyday life that we dont appreciate most often. We actually get to learn a bit of everything. There's psychology, a bit of every profession. world history, etc. Doesnt really matter,we really enjoy it at least.Thanks =)

We draw everything manually aactually, that also includes rendering.
But this sem, we're taking it now digitally :) We use Google sketckup or 3dsmax to make a scaled model of a structure. We render it, find a good angle for perspective, take a snapshot, edit it a bit with photoshop and we're good to go! :)

Same here, I also need a lot of inspiration to draw something. What I do is go watch some in youtube or browse deviantart =)
Skilled at sketching? You bet! xD (braggart alert!) I draw portraits in charcoal and oil, but mostly I draw anime or caricatures everyday =) i have them in my sketchbook and my small doodle book =)

What do I like most in Architecture? Same as rom hacking xD You dont get enough sleep, You'd be drawing everytime. As in everytime. You get to design a house, structure, or a building and maybe some city or urban planning later. You get to learn that its not just the outside beauty but more. You get plates every week, professors sets an impossible due date.
You work overnight non-stop and you're definitely be sleeping in your morning class or perhaps skip it. xD
I mean, Architecture is a a really nice profession but one of the most underappreciated ones. We get to do soo many things and will be held responsible at the same time and then get paid little as that of a doctors' xD.
But still, It is really fun and i enjoy it!

Its pretty much same as mapping, but you also get to draw views(left,right, back and rear at 2d) and 1 perspective( 3d, human's eye view)
Plus, you get to render it with colors thru different media to make it realistic. You get to do scaled models too. Then you get to do it with the help of computers later =)

That's the spirit! Never give up my friend, always try! Practice everyday practice figure drawings, foreshoretenings and using mixed media! =)

What am I up to? I'am in college now. Taking architecture. Maybe after, I'll take some urban design or city planning at least and maybe take multimedia arts or fine arts afterwards =)) Well, they're pretty much the same as what I've been doing in rom hacking. :D

That's very nice to hear man! Nah, I already quit years ago. I was too naive back then that I could'nt really quit, rom hacking just makes up my day.
I've had numerous attempts to quit (which you already know, sorry about that man. I was too immature back then) but fails absurdly. xD

Actually,I came back to look for an old friend of mine. Guess, she's nowhere to be found 0_o. Anyway, I'll check PC from time to time, and maybe some chit chat with you and my other old buddies. =) Soo, what have you been doing lately?

Yeah, I'm just not sure how to go about it. People just create threads about the problems they're having and the "Share you writing" thread is for smaller passages. I guess it's an atmosphere we're going to have to build gradually. Just be as nice as we possibly can to new members. Maybe with a little luck our reputation will change.

I've looked into RPing a couple times, but I just don't have the time right now to get into it. I'm also a little concerned about my ability to stay motivated about posting. I'm afraid I would lose interest and then just never post again. It does seem like an excellent learning tool though.
