Hey dude I'm curious, what started the big love of Charizard? :3

3rd gen was when they finally gave Venusaur Earthquake. I think Gyarados and Dragonite got it, too, which was something to do with their Attack.

I don't use Frenzy Plant, etc., but it can be useful if you really need to kill something.

Thanks for friend request! I also like Charizard, I was a Venusaur fan but converted during 3rd gen.

Charizard's pretty boss, with higher Special Attack and Flamethrower learned early, you can muscle through opponents pretty easily, something you can't do with Blastoise, much less Venusaur. :)
