  • That's great!!! Sands of Time is an awesome hack so far and deserves more attention. Well I just finished my spriting in PMI and am now only working for you and for Torzach . . . . (Your hack is still my true commitment though, ;)). As for Culvrein, I've been really busy with school lately and I want him to be perfect, so I think he will be a little while longer. :)

Yeah, I did hear that. Although it also seems that the follow-up to Octahedron sounds boring to Omar. Hopefully Cedric livens it up enough for Omar to release it, but then again anything that would bore Omar so fast might not be that great. :\
That sounds like something the Volta would do in a few years. I mean they haven't even been around for 10 years. If they continue to stay strong and make great music, I can see them making a two-disc set with songs that they've written over the past however many years but never decided to release on an album. Although with that idea, it might turn out to be great, or awful, haha.
Omar has so many side projects. His new stuff with Ximena is sounding great; he puts out more albums in a year then most bands haha.

Well I love The Mars Volta/Omar's solo stuff, The Red Hot Chili Peppers/Frusciante's solo stuff, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Muse, At the Drive-In (only punk band I like, haha). What about you?
I was disappointed that Octahedron wasn't a concept album because their concept albums are always better. Amputechture is still great because of Jon Theodore and how Cedric really started playing with Spanish in the lyrics, but Octahedron... some songs are great, Teflon, Halo of Nembutals, but it's like Omar just said "Okay, so we're gonna take Bedlam, cut out Pridgen and play acoustic." It was pretty bold, and I was a bit disappointed. But I still did listen to it non-stop for a good month, haha.

The first song I heard from them was Goliath, and that just blew me away. I had never heard anything like it. But if the first song I heard was off of Octahedron, I may not have been so inclined to keep listening to them, which saddens me a bit. But the Mars Volta's theory is to never recreate anything, so while I don't want them to make a second De-loused, I want them to make something just as good, with a different sound.
Is it possible to extend it like the nose of a calf? A bit like what Taurus has. Sorry for being kind of finnicky.
Same, a few months into 2007. I went to Italy in May and they were all I listened to the entire trip. My unhealthy addiction to them grew from there, haha.
I hope the Widow isn't your favorite song, though. That song is the least of what they are. De-loused is really the Volta, in my opinion.
Way too uncommon. But that just makes it all the better to find another one! How long have you been listening to them?
