Eh, I guess you're right. I shouldn't worry so much about it. But what I really should worry about is my schoolwork. I've been falling behind recently so I have to go attempt to get back on track now. I'm also getting sick so I might be able to take tomorrow off and use the free time to get up to date in all my classes. Talk to you later.

I can't really explain it. It just feels like mine is sort of... noobish. Which makes sense, seeing how I did come up with it when I was in 2nd grade. Everybody else's just seems so professional or something. I dunno. I see posts by people with usernames like mine who obviously aren't noobs and they talk in a similar manner as the people I associate with but when I see their username, it just gives off a different impression. People like Thrace, Christos, and a whole bunch of the staff members all have usernames that are just one word and the first letter is capitalized (there used to be more). And for some reason, when a person's username isn't capitalized and their name isn't just a single word, I just get a different feeling when reading their posts. Looking at the staff list, I'm sure bobandbill and parallelzero are very smart and non-noobish people (well, I would hope not) but I just can't take them as seriously as I can people with the aforementioned style of username. It makes me worry that people think about me in that way.

Hey I was just wondering: is my username weird? I've never really thought about it, kinda like how I never really think about my real name, but I recently started, well, thinking about it and I realized that my username is sorta... different. Like, the first letter isn't capitalized and it doesn't seem to fit in with a lot of the usernames here. I don't know how to explain it. I'm not planning on changing it because 1) I can't :( and 2) "Colcolstyles" looks funny to me but I just got to thinking during my free period today and I sorta had an out-of-body experience where I pictured myself in someone else's shoes, seeing my username from another person's point of view. It struck me that the people that I associate with/talk to all have usernames that follow a general trend. I'd like your opinion, though, as an unbiased, outside observer.

Sorry, I'm leaving. I can't get off on Pokemon anymore. I'll probably never be back, but I hope we can talk over MSN again or something.

There are only a few tracks that really meet that criteria. Verdanturf and S.S. Anne are the only ones that I can think of.

Oh, I guess I'll try playing it if I can find some time. I've heard very good things about it but isn't it only available in Japanese?

Yeah, I've been playing a lot of the Golden Sun tracks recently and I'm realizing that that style probably won't go over well in a Pokémon game. Same for LoZ. Except I've been thinking mainly in terms of overworld music and I think that they might be plausible for battle themes, etc.

Oceanic Museum is just the S.S. Anne music (which is one my favorites) but with this really nice sort of solo thingy. It's really moving, at least for me.

I listened to Abandoned Ship and yes it's very sad but I think it's too sad. I'm looking for a sort of happy-sad, whatever that means. Like, moving but not depressing, you feel me? Anyways, a lot of the music in R/S/E I recognize not from the actual R/S/E games but from Rescue Rangers. I thought that destinedjagold did a very good job choosing music to fit certain moods and some tracks, like Abandoned Ship, I remember from his hack as opposed to the official games.

I don't think I'll have too many problems with the looping, though I haven't tried so I could be completely wrong. The thing is that the track is really long so I'd have to pick one section from it and loop that.

Alright I'll check out Mother 3. I'll probably look into some other Non-Pokémon games like Legend of Zelda and maybe Golden Sun. It has to be music that I know, though, or else it won't get the nostalgia factor, which, for me, is very important. I think I'll also look into the Mystery Dungeon games, too. Man, there's a lot of music out there.

Oh wow. I can tell that that site is going to become a favorite of mine for a while. I'll check out Mother 3, though I haven't played that game so it most likely won't evoke any nostalgia for me. I'll take a look though. Thanks for the link.

In terms of Pokémon music, I'm currently strongly favoring Verdanturf Town, Oceanic Museum (those first few notes of the interlude just kill me every time)/S.S. Anne, and a couple of others that I can hear in my head but I don't know what tracks they are. I also really like the Ending Credits from R/S/E but, from what I remember, it doesn't loop so I'd have to do something extra for that track.

What's great about Emerald is that it has all of the music from all of the 3rd generation games + some 2nd gen tracks. As I once said in an attempt to defend Emerald in terms of hackability, there's a piece of music in Emerald for every situation and every mood that you can think of.

Just make it seem like you want to work and I'm sure others will follow suit.

Hm, that's an interesting idea. I'll take a look at some other games but it's been a long time since I've inserted music. Maybe I'll go hit up Magnius' tutorial again. Any games that you would suggest?

Yeah it's a nice one. I'm trying to find a nice, nostalgic theme to play on the map. I don't want to use the standard Littleroot Town music so I'm going through all the tracks in Emerald until I can find one that fits. If you have any suggestions, let me know.

Well maybe you should ask Thrace for an assignment. If the thread has a little more activity, I think it will snowball and then everybody will be working.

Going back like 5 VMs: Is this one the map that you liked? That one has always been my favorite. I think I like it the most because it balances playability with beauty, you know?

Also, (notice the lack of capitalization and colon) is it just me or does the Seraphim thread move really, really slowly?

ALSO: Just some idiot who's post finally got around to being deleted by a moderator (yay for passive voice!). He was proposing that the reason why HackMew hasn't been posting updates in the Oro Sole thread is that he wants people to lose interest in his hack and have the thread deleted so that when he releases the beta, everybody will be surprised.
