  • You mean as in when a Pokemon is captured? That's already done by doesntknowhowtoplay. I think it's in the quick resources thread.
Hi, the routines to do this has already been made. daniilS recently posted his index change routine, you would have to use that. I've also made a routine to change movesets, check out the main ASM thread for that. You would have to combine the two routines to obtain the result you desire.
Haha :-D wala akong talent sa hacking par. kaya lang ako gumawa para makalaro ng pokemon games.
I used Jambo's and Doesnt's routines and ported them to Emerald. They allow up to FF FF (65535 moves) though that is obscenely big and unnecessary. I only went to 1023 because its double the max amount of moves that you can have without Jambo's hack.

I will be redoing all the movesets for the existing Pokemon. Yes you will need to redo the move pool for expanded Pokemon, (check out Jambo and Doesnt's posts).
Emerald's at 1023 (that's space for like an extra 300 and something).
I would redo the Fire Red move system, but it'd be too much work, I might as well start from scratch.
That's the benefit of the Emerald one, doing it from scratch meant I could use some new routines.
Oh yeah It's all good. Just a bit strange is all, came out of nowhere really. I've done about 20 more sprites since I last updated the thread (mostly Gen IV though), which I'm waiting to release once all the First Frame Gen IV ones are done.
If I give you some addresses to try, will you do the testing? I can quickly provide you with possible limiter locations, but testing which ones to change and what they are limiting is going to take significantly longer. Let me know if you wanna do the testing for this.
You'd best wait for MrDS's patch. We decided to keep our projects as compatible as possible, so he is handling all the moves, abilities, etc. from the later generations.
Abilities are an incomplete part of the project. I abandoned implementing any abilities from later Gens when MrDollSteak decided to port his rom base to Emerald. What exactly did you want from the abilities hack?
Look around in the rom really. They're in the battle calcs, speed calcs, etc.
I gave the info for a few routines in Fire Red. From there you just add branches and new code that checks for your new abilities.
Same as in Fire Red, find the Ability Name and Description tables then expand it to how ever much you like.
There isn't an actual 'ability' table for effects, abilities are all handled through ASM so to make a new ability do something you have to find the right routine or battle script to put it in.
