Hey if you're still in need of a Venipede, I have a shiny one that's been sitting in my Black 1 PC for over 2 years. It's Jolly and has both Toxic Spikes and Spikes as egg moves. Or if you need/want anything else/help let me know! :D

Gligar has 85 base Speed. If we use that in the formula, we can see that it needs at least a 30 IV to reach 7 at level 1. Pretty neat.

As you can see from the formula, stats are dependent on the level, so the difference will grow as the Pokemon levels up. You gotta love Pokemon math {XD}

It could be possible it it has a very low Attack IV and a very high Speed IV. If we're talking about Gligar, then if you apply the formula, it means the 2nd one has at least 30 in Speed.

That 7 means that it has better a better IV in Speed than the one that has 6. Or that its nature favors Speed, though you haven't said anything about natures, so I'm assuming it's the same?

I'm not really familiar with Gliscor, it seems he has quite the Defense stat, didn't expect that from its appearance. I googled a bit, and it looks like smogon is dead, but serebii seems to have him covered.

You can either restart, or just play on an emulator. I definitely won't restart, plus I want to try out one of the older games like I said, and since I don't own anything previous to Gen 5, I'll be using an emulator. I hope I'll like the Pokemon, but either way, that's why it's called a challenge, right?

Oh yeah, I forgot. Before Join Avenue, there were only EV-reducing berries, so yeah, maybe it won't be so hard.

And I have so many favorites, some based on appearance and some on strength. I we're talking Gen 5, then let's see. Seismitoad and Darmanitan are beasts. N's Krookodile was really strong too, but that may have been due to his IVs too. Leavanny was a very, very pleasant surprise, definitely exceeded my expectations. And my favorite designs would be Serperior, Swoobat, Lilligant, Swanna, Sawsbuck. And then there are some Pokemon I like because of their origins, like Golurk, Volcarona (also really beautiful), the Swords of Justice, Zen Mode Darmanitan (this one is really tricky to use). Oh and Purrloin, because it's a kitty, hehe.

I saw a TCG challenge this morning here on the forums, where you use the Pokemon you get from a booster pack, and I might try that. I had TCGO installed, though I've only played for a couple of weeks a while ago and haven't played since. Well, apparently tomorrow I'm getting a free booster pack, so I'm going to see that as a sign and actually sign up for that challenge with the Pokemon I get, hehe.

Though that would mean less time to play my Black 2. Aaah I don't know what to do :(

You don't really need to chose your in-game team based on competitive reasons though. Plus, if you really want to try competitive battling, you'll need to EV train the Pokemon, and that'll be a lot more difficult if you've already used that Pokemon in your game.

I don't really know, I have so many favorites. You already have 3 Special Attackers, so maybe try a Pokemon based on Attack?

Poor guy was pretty much collecting dust in my PC, he's much better off with you -- please don't feel like you have to use it though. He's probably my favorite tiny legendary, mostly because I saw that movie where he ate macarons, and I love macarons ♥

It's funny, because I never used any of those in my teams. My hall of fame teams were:

White: Serperior, Darmanitan, Seismitoad, Carracosta, Swoobat, Durant.
White 2: Samurott, Liepard, Ampharos, Arcanine, Lucario, Golurk.
Black 2: Leavanny, Krookodile (N's), Swanna, Stoutland, Magnezone, Jellicent.

I did drop some on the way, like Pignite, Golduck (I really wanted to use her, but she was so weak :(), and Panpour. And I've also trained and used Altaria, Starmie, Gallade, Clefable and others in the post-game battle facilities.

Maybe you should consider the remaining gyms and the E4 and champion's teams to chose your final Pokemon. Or is it more or less a blind run?

I'm... conflicted. I wanna do some more post-game stuff in my games, but I kinda want to play a challenge in some of the older games, like DPPt, RSE or FRLG. Decisions, decisions {XD}
