Yotsuba is a wonderful little comedy series.

Voices of a Distant Star is a romance story written by the giy that made 5 Centimetres Per Second.

Sundome is another romance, clearly aimed at an older age group though. It actually made me cry at one point.

All 3 of those would easily be in my top 10.

Not the genre you asked for on MAL but you should read Yotsuba and Voices of a Distant Star.

And a series I somehow forgot about when putting the recs on mal, Sundome. This one is pretty strange but it's still awesome.
