There is small mistake in the jumpifstats part of contrary. The flag changes to 0x2 if it other than 0x3 too. The routine should only (change from 0x3 to 0x2 and 0x2 to 0x3).

I'll read it later, I used to read ASM tutorial on my old pc before it crashed, but if you're not sure what "01 78 00 92 02 20 00 22" do, then why do you think it's the best place to be overwritten?
I'm replacing "00 49 08 47 XX XX XX 08" with "00 48 00 47 YY YY YY 08" which means, before i replace it, the game goes to 08XXXXXX, but now after i replace it, it goes to 08YYYYYY instead without going to 08XXXXXX, is it ok?
