  • Well, I figure I should share what I already have. Admittedly, this version of the RP is mainly about exploration and then just having a league at the end between the players. However, I did have a first draft that had more of a plot, so I'll be sharing bits and pieces from both. Most of what I have to share is admittedly just locations and stuff I thought would be interesting.

Was aiming for a simple, quiet start, so the trainers progress from Mahono Town to Nashimity Town to eventually Akurnai City (there's a beach on the way), which is where stuff actually starts to happen. I consider it to be important at least for the fact it sets up how Pokemon Gyms and training are really perceived in the region because that's where the first gym is. The idea is that the city is focused on so many other forms of entertainment such as sport or theatrics (which still incorporate Pokemon, but not really battling), that battling isn't really trendy anymore. I wanted to reflect this in the attitudes of the people who live there, etc., maybe even the gym leader (dark-type). The city's main quirk is that it's really close to the Hoenn region, particularly Rustboro City. There's a large bridge under construction between the two regions, was thinking of involving the Champion more as a political figure/influencer present there to showcase part of the construction as well as maybe the mayor or maybe a cameo from Roxanne/Mr. Stone.

Later on there's your stock-standard forest, another city (Vinylace) and gym (poison-type). I was thinking there'd be a ranch similar to Floccesy Town in Unova or something like where players can get an egg or something like that. Still not really plot heavy but I wanted the city to have a more traditional vibe compared to the modernity of Akurnai, so stuff like wooden buildings, etc. I was planning to have encounters in towns and cities too, so I was thinking that wild Timburr would roam the city and help out with construction what not but I haven't really fleshed it much beyond that yet. One thing I wanted to do with the RP as a whole is just represent how different places are by the availability of the Pokemon there.

After that the trainers go through their first cave, Magalamp cave, which is a cave which is illuminated by the trails of Slugma moving around the cave - a uniqueish gimmick I thought would be neat. Maybe some sort of fossil sidequest here? I dunno. After they exist the cave they're greeted by a nice greeny riverside thing with a wooden bridge carved in the shape of a Seviper (based off the Kintaikyo bridge in Iwakuni, Japan) before they enter Momoka City, which is based off Iwakuni itself. In my notes, I wrote that it rains a lot there, but I hadn't planned much else besides another gym (normal-type). Similar to Camphrier Town in Kalos, I made a route which heads towards an abandoned castle (based off Iwakuni castle - a lot of the places are based off places in Western Honshu tbh, with some liberties). Although not snowy, I described it as cold, perhaps from its spooky aura? I was thinking maybe it'd be a decent place to introduce an evil team or something?

In terms of encounters and the like, that's as far as I got, but I did brainstorm a bit further in terms of towns/cities, with the next one being based off Miyashima, I was thinking giving it a Pacifidlog Town-ish vibe, though a bit more spiritual? Then on from there, they'd head out to Highrose City, the biggest city in the region which is based off Hiroshima - very modern vibes to contrast again, though also kinda shady. I read up that the largest group of Yakuza are actually based in Hiroshima, so I was thinking of having some sort of evil team based on them - the placeholder name I've been using is Team Phantom 'cause they'd be working in the shadows, but yeah. My idea is that they'd control the whole port area of the city, I guess not unlike Team Plasma in Castelia City.

Anyway, I know that's a lot, but I figured I'd provide some sort of geographical context before trying to fit in a story hahah. I was honestly hoping that the roleplayers would create their own arcs, etc., so I'm a little stuck on that. Ideally though, I guess the plot would deviate according to what their characters' aspirations are, etc.

And yeah in terms of limits I guess I meant more character-wise.
Alright, I guess I'll try and revive this one then. If you're still interested in co- GM'ing I'd love to have you on board! I definitely do need to flesh out plot stuff so I was wondering if we can work on that together? I strayed from developing much plot because I was afraid of railroading like 10 people on one journey, so I was wondering how to compromise plot without compromising people's individualism? What are some good limits to set as well?
Hahah yeah - I guess the school year does make people sort of forget about these kinds of things. It didn't help that I was overseas for one month either during peak interest so it kinda faltered then. I'm also still newish to PC so I was a little disappointed that most of the RPs just fizzled out, not just my own.

I wanted it to be fairly flexible and try and not impose deadlines, but I feel like there's no other choice at this point - I feel tempted to just start-over with a new RP but I'm not too sure - is it worth trying to revive one or starting afresh?. As for GM'ing, there isn't really a story/plot for the RP - though I figure having some sort of structure would help. Honestly the toughest part about creating a region is making all the characters and the dynamics people can interact with - I wasn't really sure what to do for what. Planning environments, worldbuilding, etc. was relatively easy on the otherhand.

Anyway, I'm keen to work with you if you're still happy to. :)
Hey there, if you want I guess - but it seems like the RP's a little dead - no one's really posted anything or whatever hahaha
Hiiii! So you are a Cilan fan. In my opinion, he needs more love! He's a chef, connoisseur, a gym leader and a good guy. He's another green haired fella that i like, but i'm not really a fan. In that companion thing, i just didn't want Brock. Cilan seems like a gentleman,so....yeah. Nice to meet you!!
OH MY GOD CONGRATS THAT IS PEAK THRIVING

    I turn 21 in 20 days... That's all I'll have accomplished. I'm on Discord btw! @kaa#2333
Hahaha, well I was just getting some fishfood for my old when, and decided to walk past the bird section of a rather large pet store. they have a large table play area for some of the bird who are already clipped, you're free to pet them etc. Of course, most of the birds there were still rather afraid of humans, except for this particularly curious bird. Not only was he unfazed of my hand, he even ate out of it!
So yeah, after some hefty discussion with my dad and some pleads to the clerks about please not selling him in the meantime (he gathered a lot of attention) I was suddenly the proud ...owner?...that doesn't sound right. of a little red-Crowned Parakeet named Mango. Here's a picture of him. Look them up, the yellow ones are probably the closest things we'll get to real-life Pikachus. XD

    Alright, this turned into quite the lengthy message, I'll keep the rest for some other time! n-n;;

Man, I wish I could have a cat too...
Alright, first things first; I prepared for some bad news when I read "a lot has happened". but damn. DAYUMN. I was not expecting this, you really know how to make someone's day, don't you! =D Man, I'm real happy for you, that sounds amazing! Congratulations! May you be blessed with 7 sons and 3 daughters. /shot
Anyways, I switched majors for the 3rd time back in 2014, not proud of that but hey. Turned out to be the best decision in life ever, I'm close to finally getting my degree, and met some of the most awesome people ever! ...Though I'm having a lot of trouble writing my thesis. T-T Oh, and I got a birdy! ...Now that I think of it, THAT might've been the best decision in life, so far. XD
Hey Anna, haven't been on in a good while, and looks like we haven't even really spoken in much MUCH longer. n-n;; How have you been holding up? I mainly remember you from the nightclub rp/trivia threads, but you always were a nice and awesome person. =)
Doing decent. Fall is always a slow season in comparison to summer, though, you know? How about you?
