Thanks, I'm very new, I've come a ways in knowledge since I joined the community, but I've still only been at this some 20 days or so.
I'm familiar with the terms though, and been using the master file from fire red decomp to help me find and understand a lot of stuff.
Alright! I didn't realize that was part of CFRU, I wasn't sure if I could use it since I made my own changes to my rom, like different type relations and adding a few types, etc.
And I've heard you're not supposed to, or aren't able to, continue edits after you've installed cfru, so I was unsure if it was something I should use.
So my worry was installing CFRU would overwrite my change or prevent me from making more.
My typical work flow right now is cross referencing something in the masterfile, then seeing if hex maniac has a table for it, then see if I can
understand or read anyhing in the script or thumb view, to try and figure what if any I want to change.
I want to change some items and abilities so I was going to learn asm next, to try and understand how to edit the thumb stuff to do what I want.
My plan was to build a vanilla rom with disassembly to help find the offsets where the data I want should be.
(I've heard if I do that right I can use the .map file to help find things)
Thanks for explaining the new game+ thing, I got unbound so I'll probably give it a look too, to better understand it.
