The Observation Room is below the Throne Room in the Obsidian Citadel; that's where the Emperor's airship has docked and that's where Garland is. Zack called everyone go there and Garland says they must gather and wait for the Emperor's arrival.

Stoneyard

Stoneyard is the biggest graveyard in Exathor, established officially after the cataclysm, the Great Sundering, a thousand years ago. In a corner of the Hesperian Sea of Grass, hundreds of rocks are lined up in perfect rows for miles; each rock is a tomb and has a name and two dates on them, and some of them have accomplishments and titles as well. Although the graveyard became known after the cataclysm, there are graves there with dates engraved in runes, numbers that did not fade in time - and research indicates that they're several thousand years old. Many heroes of war all periods of time have been buried in Stoneyard; it is considered an honor by the Hesperians to have a rock in Stoneyard as a tomb. It is being said that the rocks emit a special kind of spiritual energy, and many ghosts have been known to haunt the place, but the priests that have gathered there do their best to keep them away.

The Evening's Light Chapel

A group of outcasts from both nations has settled in Stoneyard, dedicating their lives to keeping the place in orders. They're known for gravediggers and priests and make their living off of burying and tending to the tombs of fallen heroes who are brought there to be buried by their families. Their main establishment is the Evening's Light Chapelat the end of the great yard, a more recent building than the rest of the graveyard.

The Mesa Monasteries

It's hard to say which came first - the great graveyard, or the monasteries that were built on top of the great mountains with the steep cliffs and flat peaks. One thing is for certain: they are both very old. The buildings crowning the mesas are made of a unique kind of stone which seems more durable than steel. Even so, some of them have fallen apart with time. The landscape around those mountains has changed drastically over the centuries - there are records of that - yet the mountains themselves seem to stand tall for as long as the memories of all Pokemon living in the area served.

The area has been said to be the birthing place of the Prophet Ali Kemal, the undisputed greatest religious and political leader in Exathian history, founder of the Dark Cult and first ruler of Stygia. The Monasteries were occupied by the Dark Cult for hundreds of years, serving as churches where they performed secret and vastly unknown rituals. That was a thousand years ago, before and after the Great Sundering, which changed the landscape of Exathor massively, but for Stoneyard. The Dark Cult continued to rule over the Monasteries and Stoneyard for as long as their Prophet lived, for approximately eight hundred years, excluding the conflicts with Hesperia in which rule changed only for a short period of time.

The chambers in those buildings once held a vast, diverse source of knowledge. Historical records, millions of books of all kinds, maps of Exathor and the world below, physics and explanations of natural or Pokemon-made phenomenons... they were all destroyed with the Dark Cult, when General Ingvar of the Illinkar, the Third Threat, arrived in Hesperia. The monasteries, being so high up in the sky, were impregnable - laying siege onto them was impossible but for flying Pokemon. General Ingvar did not command a large army, but it was enough for his purpose; the weather changed by his command, it snowed heavily for seven days, and he worked, building a bridge of ice for his army to scale. The Monasteries survived his onslaught, but the physical treasures of knowledge were mostly gone. What remains today is but a shade of that knowledge - runes of old times, when the language of Exathor was so different, it was an entirely different language. However, the place hasn't lost its prestige as a source of ancient history.

The four mesas - the Middlemesa, the Sun Rise, the Moon Rise and the Spirit Summit are all connected with bridges, allowing passage between them. The buildings on the Sun Rise and the Moon Rise have crumbled and are sealed; only the Middlemesa and the Spirit Summit are being used currently.

The Middlemesa

The Middlemesa serves as an orphanage that is ran by the same priests who live in the Evening's Light Chapel. Generally, it is seen as one of the best orphanages of Exathor; also, the Middlemesa serves as the entrance to the rest of the Monasteries, as it has an elevator that lifts a number of Pokemon at a time from the ground below to the Monasteries at the top.

The Spirit Summit

The Spirit Summit serves as a home to a family who lays claim over the Monasteries. There are two parts in that building: the palace and the Family Vault, which is known to be sealed tightly from the public. Currently, no one is living in the palace, as the descendants of the family have been deceased, mostly, and the rest are gone from the place. And with good reason, it seems: there has always been talk of the Spirit Summit being cursed. The whole mesa is brimming with a dark, dreadful presence which has yet to be explained to anyone, but is enough to quickly drive people away from it. It has attracted curious Pokemon in the recent years, of course, and it has become the center of many folk myths in Hesperia.

The Midnight Shrine

Water emerges from the bottom of this shrine; it feeds the streams in the surrounding relics and slides through canals into the entire Stoneyard. The Midnight Shrine was a Sky Nexus, before the rising of the Dark Cult. After their destruction and the fall of the Illinkar, four hundred years ago, the Sky Nexus was restored by Zane Tyrael, hero and founder of the Gold Tribe, and the people allied with him. The same people who fought by his side built an edifice which is buried underground now, that serves to protect the Sky Nexus; it's tip protrudes from the ground, and it is still called the Midnight Shrine.

No. Only Zane Tyrael is known in Exathor. Read the final post of Odyssey and this Vaults of Reflection entry; these two links fully explain what happened, I believe. For those of you who haven't read the last post of Odyssey, you should; it's well-written and it's a good chance to get acquainted with Zane, as he, too, plays a role in Crimson Dawn.

Appearance: She pretty much looks like a Glaceon. Really, she doesn't have any defining characteristics over any other Glaceon. She does, like any other Gold Tribe member have a trinket that displays her allegiance - in this case a small golden crystal-shaped pendant.
Personality: If you were lucky enough to have known Petrina in peacetime… the relative peacetime… you'd have known her as the nicest Stygian anyone ever met. Finding the ways of her own nation abhorrent, she cares deeply for everyone who has faith in her as their protector - which is why she became a part of the Gold Tribe. Although her ideals match those of the Tribe, this rebellion has brought back out some traits more known to folks of her nation - any threats against her people are responded to with a violence many Stygians would be proud of were it for other reasons.

The one value of the Gold Tribe she takes to heart is the protection of her brothers and sisters. When she failed them, when they were lost, it shattered her, made her lose restraint. Although formerly she'd have fought to protect, now it's questionable if there's any upstanding reason for battle left in her. The normally kind pokémon will now go into battle screaming bloody vengeance against every rebel and spending the time between to mourn everyone she couldn't save, that for right or wrong she blames herself for.

Petrina is a steadfast ally. Despite all that she's lost, she still recognises that her brothers and sisters left are something to fight for, and she would be ready to lay down her life for any of them. Perhaps even a little too ready... a few could accuse Petrina of a death-wish as of late. She certainly seems willing to take unnecessary risks with her own safety, but she would deny it. There is no help she could be to the Gold Tribe as a cadaver, she says.
History: Xeo is a small village in Stygian lands. Its only really notable feature was its mountaintop position on a pass between Ascanfell and Wrogthar. Home to a small Gold Tribe contingent, even as a young, wet-behind the ears Eevee, Petrina looked up to them - they were their guardians after all - and as soon as she understood what they did, she wanted to be one of them.

As soon as her fifteenth birthday rolled around, she enrolled at ECUL, eager to serve with the Gold Tribe, along with her brother, Percival, and two of her best friends from the village, all of whom had agreed they would attend ECUL together and stay together as brothers and sisters of the Tribe. It didn't quite go to plan, as their Tepig friend repeatedly came unable to meet the cut for Gold Tribe, but Petrina joined the Gold Tribe as "Vanguard", whilst her brother in blood took the title "Jester".

In the following years, the peace allowed the people of Xeo to undo the damage the First Rebellions had caused, even two years down the line, the limited resources available to a place like it made rebuilding a slow and painful process. During these humanitarian efforts, whilst the village was as hurting as it was, it was a ripe target for bandits and other assorted scum to loot, and the worst part was that there simply weren't enough Pokémon in good shape to keep the land safe. It was this, not the Rebellions as Petrina had hoped that proven her worth to the Gold Tribe, but against these bandits, she formed a band of some of the other Gold Tribe that wanted to stop the bandits - still not able to defend their land, she instead brought her band down hard on the bandits, making them reluctant to target Xeo out of fear of swift and merciless retribution.

Things went well. Petrina's raids were noticed, and another three years after the first Rebellion, when Xeo had become the thriving village it had been before, the council decided that their presence in the area could be reduced. Between Petrina's record and the fact she was a local, she was left charge of the Gold Tribe at Xeo. It was a small band, but many were the same that she had raided the raiders with in the past. The Glaceon and her team were exactly as close as was expected of them, as they stood ready for when they would next be called.

It came another six years in the future. The Stygian Rebellions didn't only recur, but came back with twice the ferocity of the last ones - and yet again Xeo was directly in the firing line. Petrina ordered counter-attacks. By staging a guerilla war, she and her band managed to preserve, but only for a time. She knew, and everyone else in Xeo knew they couldn't hold out forever. As soon as it was clear how dire the situation was, the Glaceon ordered the village evacuated. Her troops and her made one last stand, expecting to die to give the civilians time to escape. Most of them did. But by some twist of fate, Petrina survived. She didn't know whether to attribute it to luck or judgment, but the route from here was clear, as painful as it may be to leave home behind.

OK, I'll explain real quick: it means we're going to explore our characters further, share our thoughts of them, comment on other people's characters and speak of possible routes of development the characters could take. 1. Are you satisfied with your character(s), currently? Do you have any regrets about making them the way they are?
Partly. I wanted to give them a lot more thought, at least my main characters: Zack, Romulus, Garland & Jacob. I feel like they are too generic and 2d at times. But I've no regrets - I believe I can still do better with them.

2. What were your inspirations for their creation?
Zack - I'd say he was made after a hot-headed and goofy engineer with a deathwish and love for danger - always wanted to play one of those. Plus, he's smart. He's designed to solve problems that seem unsolvable to others and notice details that some may have missed.
Garland - a leader of a band of peacekeepers who is disappointed by how things are running in the country they are protecting, but most importantly, by whom they are ran. I wanted a thoughtful, brave and honorable hero to lead the Gold Tribe, one that would stand out from the other political leaders of Exathor for his kindness and selflessness, rather than his ruthlessness, greed and self-preservation.
Romulus - the badass dragon-type Pokemon killing-machine simply cannot be missing from my character roster. Romulus was created as a quiet tool who obeys orders without question, but is also willing to put himself through danger to carry them out. Whatever the cost, in other words.

3. Do you think your character(s) are the best Gold Tribesmen they can be? And if not, do you wish for them to be better at what they do, or worse?

Zack has yet to prove himself as a good Gold Tribesman. That time in the Deathbringer's Mark was just a fluke. But, I have yet to decide if he's going to love or hate the Gold Tribe's ways. His idea of peacekeeping is very different than the standard, and since he has not graduated from ECUL like others in the Gold Tribe, he is more likely to stray.

Garland will remain a true Gold Tribesman by heart, and judging by his bravery and honor, he's likely to sacrifice himself for the cause.

As for Romulus, there's no need to ask. He's already forsaken all of his vows by killing a good many members of the Gold Tribe, and chances are he is going to kill a lot more of them.

4. What do you have in mind for them in the future? Would they change along with the story, or would they remain pretty much the same - for the sake of funsies?

Zack is already changing. He's maturing, I believe, even though he's still the immature one of the company. Garland will cease to be so moody and solemn and will stop distancing himself from his brothers and sisters.

5. Do you feel like any of your character(s) share (or could share) any kind of relation with another Playable Character? Tell us more about that!

Zack and Pendro have potential, I believe! The results of their conversations could either be profitable or catastrophic. They're both geeks, but of completely different things. Pendro likes books, Zack hates books, he loves engines and airships. Seeing them cooperate to overcome a challenge would be really interesting.

6. Who is your favorite character in the whole RP? Except Asaito, guys. Asaito is everyone's favorite. xD

I've a lot of favorites. From my own characters, the Trade Prince Achilles is my favorite. He is politically astute, he is observant, acute and successful at what he does and he displays intellect and knowledge with subtle badassery. Enough said!

From the Playable Characters, Tavhir has to take the honor of my favorite character. Gobs is doing an excellent job with this troubled character.

For those who actually give a flip, I have ~~finally~~ posted a third vault entry. You can go click these words right here and read it if you want. This one could actually be considered important, since the character Eli is introduced, and he's showing up in the events of the RP now. If you wanted to get a better idea of him, then check it out. :D

I feel like I'm writing too many of these... but at the same time, I like it, so who cares? Though really, there's only one more planned before I can consider these characters' backstories fully explored. The last one will focus on Cassandra again, and a very important event in her life. STAY TUNED... or don't. I don't care. xD
