    @Arylett Charnoa

"Mhm." It's hard to talk with a mouthful of sticks, but she can manage some generally understanding sounds. She might not have the best attacks yet, and she's not the biggest or the bulkiest, but she's fast and pretty agile.

Still incapable of speech, she nods when Elly agrees to go looking for some more fun after the bridge is fixed. From the looks of things they're not getting that treasure...there's no way there's enough of it to split between everyone that's gathered. Gallant will probably take it back to Bronzong and they can decide what to do with it later. That's disappointing, but the right to say she helped the famous Gallant is a good enough reward.

    @Frozen Heart

The rumbling in the bushes causes her pause-- Elly too, it seemed. It didn't sound like an attacking Pokemon, it didn't sound urgent enough. Probably one of their guild trying to find Kirlia. The more help they get the sooner they can get this done, and the faster she and Elly can go somewhere else. She sets the sticks down long enough to call to the rustling. "We're over here!"

    @Dragon

While she was braced for something to suddenly pop out-- she was expecting it to come from the bushes, not in front of her. She jumps-- though not nearly as high as Elly. Her new pal falls in a heap, the sticks she still scattering, and then-- Elly exploded.

    @Fennekin210

At least, that's what Tahni thought happened when the beam burst from Elly's head, causing her to jump back-- this time bumping into that really happy Fennekin. Oh, Elly didn't explode...she just shot a really awesome energy beam out of her head! Okay, that's cool. If she can figure out how to help Elly aim it right, they'll be a real unbeatable duo.

She lifts a paw to lightly brush the dirt off Elly's backside as she speaks to the excitable fire fox. "You can help us get these sticks back up, that'd help." She then looks to Glameow. She can't find it in herself to be mad at the black cat, she didn't know Elly would explode when she hopped in to say hello.

"We were gonna help repair the bridge." She explains. "...Unless we all die first." She mumbles, her head tossing towards the Trubbish and his rotten log. At least that Gastly's smart enough to notice, but a team is only as smart as it's stupidest member. Yeah...they're in trouble.

  • Zuzu was already up before the bell rang. He liked to watch the sunrise and he was not much of a sleeper anyway. He slipped behind everyone else inside the longtent, and found a place by the side to watch. The guildmaster began speaking, or droning more like it, but Zuzu did not catch anything he was saying. He looked to the contracted Explorer besides the Bronzong that was sent to assist them. Just another one of those money-grubbers. A mercenary, as was every single one of them that was breathing in this place. Such rotten souls swaddled in seemingly clean tissues.

The guildmaster's dismissal snapped the Azurill out of his internal monologues. People had already flocked out to prepare for the expedition, all of them tempted by the prospect of coin and chest. Zuzu stared at the guildmaster who was conferring quietly to Snubbull.

One day, I will topple you.

The Guild Secretary left the Bronzong's side, rushing off in her usual state of worry. Whether Zuzu's presence to the guildmaster was noticed or not remained unknown, but the Bronzong seemed to pause for a moment to gaze in his general direction, before levitating up to the second floor, hiding away in his office.

"Any guild members nearby, a bridge leading to a rather appealing treasure has shattered. Flight and jumping the river seem impossible so we'll need to build another bridge. Gather all available materials you can and bring them to me at the westernmost river in this dungeon."

A voice sounded in his mind, and Zuzu guessed that it was the Kirlia sent by Team... Something. Some lame pretentious name. Guess this was a good opportunity to collect intelligence on this Explorer that was going to be with them for a good long time.

"Helping people out is so fun."

The Azurill bobbed excitedly on his tail before walking out of the longtent.

After bumping into the annoyed Espurr, Dávalos shook it off and said, "My, my! It's not every day I see people clamoring for the chance to see me personally! But no matter, I will help you recover these sticks."

    @LinearAxel
Turning to the other feline of the duo, he added, "So you say that this Trubbish fellow is using a rotten log for the bridge?! I suppose someone has to intervene! Come, we must show him his error."

Before he went to go warn the Trubbish about the rotten log, Dávalos ducked his head down to pick up sticks with his mouth. He picked a bundle of about 10, fairly large sticks and put them in his mouth. He decided to help the two felines by carrying them over to the site where they gathering materials where there was a group consisting of a Trubbish, Gastly, a blue Tyrunt and a Golett.

The blue Tyrunt in particular stood out to Dávalos, not only because of his unusual color, but because of apparent seniority. From what little time Dávalos has spent at the guild, he surmised the Tyrunt's seniority based not only on his appearance and body language, but from what other guild members have told him about the blue Tyrunt (King! Dávalos remembered his name from his initiation into the guild two weeks prior). Averting his attention away from King for a moment, Dávalos turned over to the Trubbish and exclaimed, "The great Dávalos would advise you to NOT use that log. For you see, it is quite rotten and unfit for the task at hand. But no worries, for it is I who will help you find a better log. After all, the great Dávalos is not one to back up what he is saying without greatness!"

    Gallant the Kirlia

The response from the guild members had been quick and admittedly somewhat impressive. Almost everyone from the small Litleo Tahni, to the bulky Golett Russel, to the incorporeal gas ball that was Gosu. Things were progressing exactly as planned.

He took the vines Gosu had handed him and nodded his approval. Speaking into the Ghostly's mind using telepathy to signal his approval. "Already fashioned into a rope, this will do excellently. Gosu wasn't it? Well done." Using confusion, Gallant proceeded to snap the vine rope in two, in order to support either side of the new bridge. Now the actual walking part was paramount, still having a support was already a great start.

Gallant quickly turned his attention to the shiny tyrunt now beckoning him, he seemed to have a question and gallant most likely had no reason to answer. He pondered for a moment however, as the question itself was asked. An alternate route? Considering this was the edge of the dungeon it didn't seem likely that there was any well spread alternate route. Gallant gave a light shrug as his response before shooting a quick telepathic message the Tyrunts way. "I doubt you'll find anything, though you're willing to look... regardless, I feel like we'll be fine should one put any stock in your guild."

At this moment Gallant took notice of the litleo and espurr approaching slowly with their own supplies. Some more vines and a lot of sticks. Perfect for a base but still lacking a little substance. They were missing one vital part of this puzzle still. Using his psychic abilities he moved the sticks over to his own position and began to fasten them between the vines in a ladder like fashion... he quickly called out to the Golett, Russel whom had just crashed into a nearby tree. He seemed like the perfect candidate to assist with building. "Just line them out one by one and we should be fine..."

The bridge was finally starting to come together, but it looked like there were still something missing. It was too flimsy to use as it was. It needed something more solid to give it better support. At this moment a Glameow leapt from the bushes to speak with the other two cat pokémon... and this distracted Gallant just enough to see Gosu talking to a trubbish about odor... what was interesting however, was the partially rotted log that the trubbish had been moving forward.

"Intriguing..." Gallant thought as he stood up to walk forward. The gastly was telling the Trubbish, as gallant stepped in, that the log was unfit for use due to its partial rot.

"Not necessarily." Gallant quietly mentioned into the minds of both pokémon and any present to hear.

Gallant used telepathy as a sort of radius induced effect. he spread the psychic energy out from himself in waves. The closer you were to gallant, the louder it seemed, the further away you were, the quieter it got until it became completely inaudible. Gallant could also pinpoint specific minds and targets like he had done earlier, but that required effort and concentration and as such he prefered to use short range telepathy like that just described. it also worked better for other pokémon as it functioned similar to hearing in a respect.

"The entire log is useless yes, but if we harvest it for it's parts..." Using confusion, Gallant began to rip off various parts of still sturdy bark to the log... before affixing it to each side of the now finished vine and twig ladder to create a solid and walkable surface and sturdy underbelly. Once done, the bridge was somewhat flexible, while remaining very solid and resistant to weight. The vines ran along either side with the twigs offering a solid "skeleton" to the whole thing. The sturdy sheets of bark running along the top were perfect for walking and after having the guild members jump on it a few times to test its resilience... it was good to go!

"Right. It's time... everyone, heave this thing over the gap! On my mark!"

Instrucitng everyone to lift and move the bridge, after a few moments of awkward struggling. The guild had managed to bridge the gap successfully! The path to the treasure was open!

Gallant took the first step onto the bridge before turning to face everyone else. He spoke to them as a leader, or figurehead, his somewhat latin accent forming even as a part of his telepathy. Something he was unused to but... something he adapted to rather quickly.

"Now everyone, I understand you're excited but, we have to remain calm and approach this rationally. Rushing ahead has gotten better explorers than any of us killed. I'd rather avoid such an incident here. Stay behind me at all times and do not get too excited... now let us move out."

The bridge was a little shaky underfoot, but mostly stable on the roaring water. It was difficult to stay upright against the winds, but it was still possible for Gallant to slowly lead the guild recruits across with moderate safety.

Suddenly however... it became a lot easier. The wind came to a very sudden and abrupt stop and Gallant almost fell over with the sudden shift.

A sudden flashing blur of green streaked across Gallant's field of vision. A pair of bright wings and two flashing blades and the shining treasure was gone. Impossible... had it been a trap?!

    "Everyone! Turn around!"

But it was too late, from the flowing water jumped six pokémon three at either side of the bridge, cornering the guild members into the center of the bridge. They were all poliwhirl with aggressive expressions. Itching to fight. Flying in from above, a pair of beedrills began to swoop down towards the guild as well, taking advantage of the lacking wind.

WHile he was distracted one of the Poliwhirls lunged at Gallant with an aggressive Double Slap. Gallant swiftly dodged to one side however, and waved his arms in a striking motion. Several leaves from the shore line became infused with a purple psychic energy and rushed to Gallants side before slicing through the overly eager poliwhirl like blades... magical leaf was super effective and the poliwhirl wasn't expecting Gallant to have such power. The pokémon staggered gently before collapsing into the river to be rushed away by the current.

"Alright Explorers!" Gallant cried using his actual voice, which matched his psychic tones rather well. "Don't let these bullies take you down at the first hurdle! Fight with everything you have!"

    Gosu the Gastly

"Stand your ground children!" Gosu shouted. The Poliwrath closest to him fired an Ice Beam towards the apprentices. "Oh no you don't!" Gosu grunted focusing his energy into creating an Icy fist. The two Ice attacks collided shattering both instantly, spraying chunks of ice through the air. The Poliwrath looked around in confusion, but Gosu dashed infront of him with glowing eyes. "You're not getting away that easily." Gosu laughed as he prevented the Water/Fighting Pokemon from escaping. "In fact." Gosu chuckled as he let out a long tounge and slid it across the Poliwraths face. "Ghost types can inflict Paralysis with their tounges you know." Gosu explained to the frozen Poliwrath.

However unluckily for Gosu, it appeared that the Poliwrath had not actually been paralyzed. As was apparent when it threw a punch straight through the Gas ball Pokemon. "You can't hit a ghost pokemon you silly snowflake." Gosu sighed, focusing his ghostly powers to try and trick the mind of the Poliwrath... However it wasn't very effective. Normally Gosu would be able to dig through the Pokemons memories, but this Poliwraths mind was blank, numb. Gosu wasn't able to find anything but red hot rage burning inside him. "So this is the effects of spending too long in a mystery dungeon." Gosu muttered in shock.

"Poliwrath!" The Pokemon shouted, bringing an Icy fist up and smashing into the Ghost type Pokemons core. "Gahhh!" Gosu grunted, actually taking a hit for the first time in this battle. "Poliwrath!" The Poliwrath exclaimed triumphantly. A second Icy punch was came quickly, bashing into the Ghastly. "Alright enough of this!" Gosu groaned as he began to extend his poisonous gas over the Poliwrath. "Poliwrath?" The Pokemon panicked as he struggled to back away in time. "Don't worry, you'll wake up safe and sound in a few hours, I wouldn't be as cruel as to administer a lethal dose." Gosu grunted. "Poli...wra..." The water/fighting type gasped. "Sleep..." Gosu whispered before blacking out himself.

    ---Zwing!---

Gosu walked through the big empty house. Everyone had left in the years gone by. He brushed some dust of the mantlepeice and found an old photo hiding beneath it. It was a picture they had taken all those years ago, when everybody was still around... Gosu let out a sob as he fell to the ground clutching the photo in his hands. "I'm so sorry..." He whispered through his tears.

    ---Zwoong!---

  • He had been about to hear the Trubbish's response, ensuring that he wouldn't fall astray by unintentionally dooming the bridge. Then when Gallant showed up, everything seemed to be alright. The bridge was all set to go, Dávalos got to introduce himself to more people, and everything was looking quite hunky-dory for the eccentric Fennekin. Ah, what a fine show this is turning out to be, Dávalos monologue to himelf. It truly is like a real, breathing performance, complete with stars, a captive audience and camaraderie! All that is left is a little show from yours truly.

However, in getting wrapped up in his own thoughts, he didn't quite notice the approaching Poliwhirl until it was too late. When he finally heard the shouting of others, Dávalos took a deep breath and prepared to strike at one of the Beedrills in the sky with a well-aimed Flamethrower attack. Before he could do so, however, a Poliwhirl had approached from his side and let out a Water Gun, causing significant damage to the fire fox. Being the showman he was, Dávalos, even with a wavering voice and a pained expression, shouted, "Y-you think th-this will be enough to take down the great Dávalos. I think you fellows are s-sorely mistaken, for you see-"
The Poliwhirl, not caring for the theatrics or fair showmanship at the moment, let out another Water Gun attack, leaving Dávalos with severely drained health.

"D-damn it all! You sir did not let me finish my speech. That was very rude and unshowman-li-"

Being the naïve, adorable little magician he was, Dávalos could not quite grasp the whole concept of battling without the rehearsed speeches and unfortunately let himself open to another Water Gun attack. With a thud, the great and "powerful" Dávalos fainted.

    [@LinearAxel]

"Thank you..." She muttered begrudgingly in response to the Litleo's brushing of dirt out of her fur. As usual, things happened so quickly that she couldn't really object to them. Really, she could pick up those logs on her own. She didn't need that fox's help...

    [@Fennekin210]

Her irritated attitude was not aided by the pompous Fennekin now proceeding to take her logs. This whole situation was an embarrassment. Elly had become so consumed in her seething thoughts that she couldn't really follow the conversation they were having. Something about a Trubbish and a rotten log. Who cares about that? Thought the Espurr vaguely to herself as she picked up the remaining sticks the Fennekin hadn't and followed him over to the gathering site. Right now, she couldn't complain. Her control on her psychic abilities had been compromised, and any more outbursts would not be prudent.

    [@Deceptio]

When they arrived, Elly caught yet another glance of that... arrogant Kirlia. Why was everyone except Tahni that she had met thus far so self-important in their mannerisms? Even the way he moved the sticks into place, the way he quite unwelcomedly projected his thoughts into their minds... it reeked even more than the Fennekin's showmanship. At least he was sincere in a way. This Kirli...

    ...a?!

It was the moment she had been waiting for! The negative thoughts immediately wiped themselves from her mind as she eagerly struck a battle stance at these Poliwhirl and Beedril. Now she could show control of her abilities. The feline stood her ground against the Beedril, noting that the Gastly and Gallant had their attentions concentrated on the ground enemies, and the Fennekin had... attempted to an assault. Concentrating her irritation at the unlucky events she had experienced, the Espurr Leered down one of these insects. For a moment, it hesitated, its movements seeming to slow down, then went diving down at her. Elly grinned and concentrated her thoughts on the way his Flamethrower had appeared... heat coursed down her paw and she could feel it! It was going to happen! It was...

...Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Her Assist didn't work?

    "Dammit! DAMMIT, not NOW!"

The Beedril was getting close, and those spears looked mighty sharp and dangerous just about now. Suddenly, Elly was overcome with an odd urge. She opened her mouth wide, and a long tongue came spiraling out, Licking one of the Beedril across its body.

    "Bleh!"

Her opponent shuddered uneasily, thrown off-balance by this unexpected attack, and dove its lances into the mucky dirt. Whew. Looked like her luck had turned.

Not being one to leave things to chance again, the Espurr lunged her entire body at the insect and brandished a set of very sharp-looking claws. She snarled and hissed, viciously and mercilessly Scratching her opponent down. The two were locked in a struggle, with the wild Pokemon frantically trying to dislodge its spears from the wet muck.

    "You... will... go... DOWN!"

In her violent assault, however, she had failed to notice that yet another Beedril was speeding straight for her, aiming its stinger directly at the back of her head...

Once Gallant got to work everyone fell quiet, it was like magic. Even more like magic was his ability to make something out of that rotten log. Guess there's something to be said for not looking at something as a whole, but for the parts it can provide. Huh...maybe she'll try that.

Just a few minutes and one group effort later they had it, they'd made a bridge! Now it's just a matter of crossing it, grabbing that shiny thing, and she and Elly can go find something a little more easily split-- at least...that was the plan. The wind that had prevented Gallant and Gosu from just floating over suddenly stopped, and things became very quiet very fast...

A harsh buzzing sprang from the quiet, growing louder and louder in a matter of seconds and manifesting itself into a green blur, flashing by and grabbing their treasure. Just as quickly as their treasure had been taken, they were surrounded; trapped on a bridge by a group of Poliwhirl, and from above came two beedrill. In a flash one of those Poliwhirl was taken out by Gallant's magical leaves, and from the corner of her eye she could see Gozu smashing through an ice beam with his invisible fists. Okay, that's two Poli's down, the rest of the guild can handle the other four while she and Elly take out those Beedrill--

I think you fellows are s-sorely mistaken, for you see-"

Dávalos?! The lioness turned just in time to see the fire fox shot by a powerful burst of water. What's he thinking?! Trying to take on a water Pokemon?! And he wasn't even attacking it! He was obviously down for the count, yet the Poliwhirl kept blasting him. Tahni could feel the anger growing inside of her as the far too innocent Dávalos collapsed.

HEY! FIGHT SOMEONE WHO HAS A CHANCE! She thought as she opened her mouth, forcing a loud Noble Roar from her stomach. The vibration from the roar caused her body (and likely the bodies of those around her) to shake before she jumped for the bullying Poliwhirl. She charged and her head dipped, smashing right into the center of that spiral belly with a powered up Headbutt.

"Back off!" She snapped as the Poliwhirl flew back from the force of the lion's head smashing into his gut. She bowed her head to prepare for another when the buzzing of a Beedril far too close for comfort took her attention away from the frog Pokemon. Her head jerked towards the sound to locate it, but it wasn't coming for her-- It was coming for Elly.

With no time to take aim, Tahni fires her ember in the direction of the speeding Beedril. The tiny little fires graze its wing, which knocks it off its course for the Espurr's back, but it's hardly enough to stop it.

    "Elly! Watch your back!"

    King the Tyrunt

    tyrunt.gif

    Of course.

King groaned at the appearance of the Beedrill and the Poliwhirls around them. The building of the bridge took a lot quicker than expected. King didn't expect that Gallant's psychic prowess extends to bridge-making but I guess most of the work could be attributed to a lot of the other guild apprentices, over-eager Bibarels who wanted to impress. King was disgruntled as his suggestion was shot-down immediately by the Kirlia, saying that there is none to be found. He still has respect for the senior guy, he just hates that his idea was shot down and he contributed absolutely nothing at the mission.

Then the Pokemon showed up as soon as they are crossing the bridge. As if on cue. Kirlia opened attack with a Magical Leaf and implored the other apprentices to do the same. King is confident of his fighting abilities but he's a little scared of the Poliwhirls as he can't do much damage on them. His fellow apprentices were attacking here and there so he decided to join in on the fray. His jaw erupted on fire. "ROYAL FIRE FANG!!!" King snapped at the Beedrill lunging around them, trying to bite something down.

"Elly, watch your back!" King heard the Litleo roared. He saw a Beedrill coming for an Espurr at a very quick speed. There was no time to think. King pivoted on his spot and charged at the Beedrill. His jaws clipped one of its wings and its flight turned erratic, crashing into the ground. "Are the both of you okay?" King asked the Litleo and Espurr but had no chance for the reply. There was a fainted Fennekin nearby and the amnesiac Gastly that was chatting Gallant a while ago was fading. "Hey, old man! Snap out of it!"

King roared as fire continue to spew out from his jaws.

    Gosu the Gastly

"Hey, old man! Snap out of it!"

Gosu's ethreal eyes flickered open. The other members of the guild were all fighting their best. "Ugh my head... which for me really means my everything." Gosu groaned. He looked around and saw a familiar Spinda using copy cat to launch pin missles back at a beedrill. "Clever." Gosu mumbled while floating around dazed and confused. "Back off!" The litleo named Tahni roared at a Poliwhirl. Behind her lie the fennekin, Dávalos. "Poor kid." Gosu muttered as he floated towards it.

"Hey whats going on?" Tahni exclaimed as Dávalos began to float. "Hzmplgfuzz" Gosu explained. Upon seeing the confused look on the Litleo's face, the gas ball Pokemon groaned and focused his ghostly powers. "I'm taking Dávalos back to the guild where they can make sure he's alright." Gosu grunted telepathically. Several replies echoed back at him, none of which he could distinguish, but the litleo no longer seemed worried that its friend was slowly floating away with a ball of gas.

Gosu began to float back, with the unconscious fennekin floating behind him, mumbling in its sleep about how it was the great and powerful Dávalos. Gosu was tempted to pry into the creatures mind and see what it was dreaming, but ultimately decided against it incase he needed the energy to get back to the guild...

    A short time later...

Gosu slipped through the open Infirmary door and saw the young smoochum sitting at the front desk. "Well hey there silly gooses!" The little smoochum at the front desk called. "Oh dear, did another adventurer get themselves hurt again? Maybe all the need is a biiiiiiggggg kiss." The nurse giggled. "Doctor mime, you've got some new patients." She called after eyeing the condition of Gosu and Dávalos. A second later a long outstretched arm apeared from the back of the infirmiry. Shortlt after the rest of the Pokemon popped into view. "Hey there you beautiful little guy!" The doctor said whilst rubbing his hands together. "What seems to be the problem." The Mr. Mime giggled.

"It looks like the little Fennekin took a big old nasty water attack, and the Gastly took some hits to the core. We're so lucky they were even able to make it back here like this!" The Smoochum replied quickly. "I'm fine really..." Gosu said as he bobbed from side to side. "No, nonesense you, come here and let Doctor mime take care of all your troubles." The Mr. Mime said, using some form of hypnosis to get Gosu to obey. "There was that so bad?" The Doctor said while giving Gosu some form of potion. "I... sleepy..." Gosu muttered before falling to sleep. "We're going to need to get these kids some beds to rest up on. Can you handle that while I tend to the needs of our young Fennekin friend here Nurse Smoochum?" Doctor mime asked. "You got it boss!" The young pokemon said hopping to her feet and scurrying away.

    TREY

Trey had been so lost in thought about how well he was doing, he didn't even notice when Gosu floated over to him and started talking. He finally came to as Gosu mentioned how his log was rotten and may not be useful. Shocked and heartbroken at this revelation, Trey drooped his eyes and lost his energy. To make matters worse, Gosu had also pointed out that a stench was infesting the area and everyone could tell it was the the little Trubbish. It wasn't his fault that he leaked the trashy smell when he got excited, it just sort of happened...

Trey was ready to leave when Gallant stepped in using telepathy and explained that Trey's log was actually still very much helpful. He watched as Gallant used his psychic attacks to tear off the non-rotten parts of the log and put them together on the bridge as steps. Trey was impressed by Gallant's ingenuity and realized that though he may not have saved the day, he still was part of the solution and his dream was still intact. With this in mind, Trey recaptured some of his spunk, and followed after the others onto the bridge, treasure in sight.

Trey was frozen. Beedrill and Poliwhirl had just exploded onto the scene out of nowhere and were attacking. Trey had been caught right in the middle of it all and had a solid view of what was happening. There was the Fennekin, Davalos he thought, that had received a direct hit from a water attack, seemingly down for the count. Then there was Gosu doing his best but quickly fading. Lastly, there was the Litleo and Espurr, Tahni and Elly, fighting strongly. Certainly one not to forget, Trey also saw Gallant and King battling left and right to protect the group as well. Everyone was battling so hard and all Trey could do was stand there and watch. He didn't know what to do. Trey had battled plenty of times but against Pokemon like these. With all the guild's work, the attackers kept coming back for more. This battle needed to end and Trey knew he needed to help in some way, but he was scared.

Trey's fear finally took over and he couldn't handle it anymore. Here he was, in the middle of a battle and he wasn't even doing anything. Meanwhile, all his friends and fellow guild apprentices were being attacked and getting hurt. If Trey was to ever be the leader he thought he was, then he needed to act. Trey began tensing up, focusing his energy inside his body. He could feel it welling up, all the gas, just waiting to burst out. As he saw a Poliwhirl rush towards him, he acted quickly.

"Everyone cover your mouths and noses! Don't breathe!" Trey called out to give warning to his friends. As he finished saying the last word, a large, purple, noxious gas cloud emitted from Trey's body. Immediately the Poliwhirl felt faint and collapsed the ground, feeling the effects of the poison. The cloud hovered over the expanded over the bridge, poisoning anyone who breathed it in. Trey could only hope that none of the guild members were one of those poor few.

  • By the time, the Azurill had reached the site of the bridge, the explorers had already completed its construction. Well things probably moved faster when there was a telekinetic around, Zuzu guessed. The Kirlia led everyone across the bridge, and Zuzu fell back in line, behind a Spinda who reeked of berry juice and body odour.

"Everyone! Turn around!" The Kirlia exclaimed just as Beedrills and Poliwrath jumped out from the river water and cut off all their escape routes.

Great, mobbed by a bunch of wild animals. Fights instantly broke out as every Explorer defended and tried to take down the wild Pokémon. Zuzu heard a loud buzz from behind him, and Splashed out of the way. Needles of white pierced into where he was just standing a few seconds ago. He fired a cluster of bubbles at the Beedrill, which somehow chased it away. Yeah, just because I'm small doesn't mean I don't sting like a Beedrill too.

He turned away and saw the Spinda from before facing on a Poliwhirl that looked way stronger than him. The Spinda seemed to stare at his paw, likely daydreaming into another trip. What kind of berries has he been eating? The Azurill groaned mentally and Splashed his way over.

He fired a stream of energized water at the Poliwhirl, meeting it's own Water Gun, but his was smaller and weaker. The impact of the water pushed him back to where the Spinda stood.

"Hey!" He squeaked. A swift glance told Zuzu that the Poliwhirl had begun rolling towards them, charging up some powerful Fighting technique. The Azurill wiggled his tail in a cutesy manner, hoping to distract the Poliwhirl.

    "Do something!"

    Russell

With the bridge done, Russell felt proud of himself. He had helped make something useful, and now they would get rewarded. It almost made him reconsider his role in life...

And then they got ambushed, and he promptly forgot about all that. "Alright! Time to throw down!" He started off by tucking his limbs into his body, while everyone else charged forward. He appreciated their enthusiasm, but he had a strategy going here. Rather than just duck and cover, he started spinning in place, his Defense Curl leading straight into Rollout. He shot past his new team, intending to run over one of the Beedrill, when a squeaky voice caught his attention.

"Hey! Do something!" It was an Azurill, shaking its tail at an approaching Poliwhirl, who appeared to be winding up for a powerful punch. Russell charged in, rolling over one Poliwhirl and bouncing off its head. With the extra speed and momentum, he dropped out of the sky onto the Poliwhirl. "CANNONBALL!"

The Poliwhirl turned away from Zuzu, intent of knocking Russell off course, but Russell phased through the punch and slammed into Poliwhirl's head. He pops his limbs back out in midair, landing between Zuzu and Poliwhirl and raising his fists. "Pick on someone your own size, kid." He joked to Zuzu as the Poliwhirl gets back up. "I'll handle this one."

Russell faced off against the Poliwhirl, as a stinking cloud spread throughout the area. Anyone who breathed it in starting getting sick, except for the Beedrill flying overhead. "Someone punch those flyers!" He shouted over the commotion.

    River Belle Path

Hexoc had been gathering the materials listed in the job requests for awhile now. After that encounter with the Fennekin named Dávalos, he had chosen to avoid helping with the bridge, as he assumed most everyone had that idea. He had been in a few fights here and there while going about his tasks, but nothing really harmful.

He was heading back to the guild to deliver the requested goods when he found a Mareep crying on the road back to the guild.

Having a flashback to the time he was kidnapped, Hexoc decided to ask what had happened.

The Mareep said she had been robbed by a Mime Jr. and couldn't find the thief after searching for a good while.

"I'll get your item back for you." Hexoc said.

    "Really? But you look busy."

"Never to busy to help in a situation like this. Now, what did the outlaw take from you?"

"A Thunder Gem. My mom gave it to me before she left to join an Exploration Guild. It means everything to me."

The other jobs could wait, Hexoc had an Outlaw to catch.

    Gallant the Kirlia

The battle was growing wild as combatants were striking and falling left and right. Gosu was proving already to be one of the more reliable pokémon of the bunch as he created a fist of ice to strike down the opposing Poliwraths beam, it was an interesting tactic for a gastly to use... but Gallant was impressed at its innovative use and practice. All was not well however, as the gastly began to shudder a little after receiving a few direct attacks... as he began to fade out he managed to take his opponent with him... and the now severely weakened Poliwrath was the second to fall to the preying waves. However... not without a great cost to Gosu himself.

"Damn it, Go- Agh!" Gallant was forced to leap back as a misfired pin missile almost struck him down. There were only two beedril yet their attacks were so enraged that they came at multiple pokémon from multiple directions.

Gallant wasn't paying attention after the attack and he only saw Dávalos take the attacks when it was already too late. The poor little Fennekin hadn't even gotten the chance to fight back due to his theatrics. Damn... he had to pay more attention lest more of the guild fall while under his watch. Two of the Poliwhirl began to run down the bridge and Gallant struggled to unleash a powerful confusion to push them both back. He held them there momentarily, stopping them from becoming too involved in the fray.

Elly the Espurr had managed to knock one of the two Beedrill to the shore line where she quickly retreated to continue giving it a good pounding... however her rage had her blinded to the attack coming from the rear! Tahni cried out to warn her but it seemed her aggression was consuming her senses. The little fire lion shot an ember that grazed the Beedrill's wing and Gallant was admittedly impressed with her aim for such an awkward angle... especially considering she had already weakened the foes attacks using noble roar and had headbutted one of the poliwhirl into a retreating position.

Tahni's attack distracted the beedrill long enough for it to turn around and look in a blind rage for the one who attacked it. However in its confusion it struck out at Hash instead. This Beedril was a considerably higher level than the other pokémon present... and it seemed more than capable of taking a beating, even from such super effective attacks. Five pin missiles shot towards hash, with two nailing him directly while he seemed to drunkenly dodge the remaining three. The pokémon hadn't seemed very useful before... but it's ability to mimic the attacks of other pokémon was clearly rather powerful. Hash shot a pin missile of equal power in a haphazard fashion and gallant growled as one of the five almost struck him instead. Unbelievably however, three struck the attacking beedrill head on and seemed to do an impressive amount of damage! The now severely weakened Beedrill made a "bee" line back to its original target in a panic, it flailed its stingers around and shot at the nearby Zuzu, whom easily dodged the flustered bugs attacks by using the water to his advantage... with one final water gun from Zuzu the beedrill fell to its last burst of energy as it charged towards Elly once again... determined to strike out with the deadly "Fell Stinger" attack.

It looked hopeless, yet out of nowhere it was King who leaped in to save Elly, he grappled the beedrill with his flaming fangs just in time and tossed it harshly into the dirt beside Elly and it's beaten ally. Both aerial bug types were finally down. Now the ground forces were all that remained.

One of the remaining Poliwhirls, the one injured by Tahni, had chosen a new target in the already damaged Hash. Who tumbled back a few paces from the water gun... he seemed to be trying to copy the technique again, but upon the move failing once more... he chose instead to look at his hand in confusion?! What an odd pokémon...

As another water gun rushed forward, the little Azurill Zuzu launched up from the water. His water gun was much weaker than the poliwhirls, but it managed to block the attack regardless. Rolling backwards a few paces to land by Hash... he said something to the dazed Spinda to try and get his attention as the poliwhirl attempted to roll towards them with a powerful fighting attack! The type advantage would take Hash out completely! Gallant was about to intervene but it soon proved unnecessary... as Russel charged full force forward, meeting the poliwraths roll with his own and pile driving the opponent down while phasing right through the fighting type attack thanks to his ghostly powers!

The Poliwhirl was launched back a few paces... it stood up strong again for a brief second, giving the impression it was ready for more... but the earlier damage from Tahni proved too much when combined with the new attack... and it stumbled, falling back into the river.

"Everyone cover your mouths and noses! Don't breathe!"

It was Trey, striking out with a noxious cloud of poison smoke! One unlucky poliwhirl took the full brunt of the gas and passed out immediately, falling into the flowing waters below. While Gallant appreciated Trey's tactic... it was still dangerous! It had the potential to do more damage to the team than to the limited enemy. Finally releasing his confusion grip on the remaining too Poliwhirl he turned and opened his mouth... letting out an incredibly potent and powerful battle cry. His own unique variant of disarming voice. The power from the screeching cry was enough to blow the gas away and Gallant gave Trey an approving nod... to show that he understood the young Trubbish's intentions.

The two poliwhirl, now further enraged and released from their held back position. Rush towards Gallant and fire dual water guns. Gallant, enraged, turns to them both... the world seems to slow down in his mind as he calculates the battle at hand. The exact damage of the water guns had been severely weakened due to the effects of Noble Roar and quite frankly... Gallant was in a state of mind where he was just about finished dealing with these pitiful and enraged creatures.

Their numbers were gone. They were nothing now.

He let out an ear piercing cry of rage with another disarming voice... the water guns met the sound waves and were dispersed into nothing but a fine mist. The two poliwhirls felt the eyes upon their heads widen as they took a step back. Gallant gave no mercy however, raising both hands, he uses his confusion powers to slam the two poliwhirl together, dazing them and knocking them to the ground. Calling out to the shore once more, the leaves of the land answer his call as two bursts of magical leaf burst past, slicing through the weakened poliwraths for extreme damage.

    "A critical hit!"

The two poliwhirl stagger back and bump into each other as Gallant, now getting physically tired. Strikes his hand across the bridge in a sweeping motion... and with a final confusion he tosses the weakened poliwhirl into the water haphazardly.

Gallant leans gently onto one knee to catch his breath. It had been a while since he had had to exert himself that much... especially against enemies that were in reality rather weak. He supposed he had tuckered himself out further with his attempts to protect the guild recruits. Yet regardless, he had to admit that they had preformed admirably. Bronzong was a powerful leader and a good teacher. He knew the iron bell pokémon rather well at this point... due to his discussions with him over the expedition and Gallant's little protege, Tyke. The two psychic pokémon had grown to develop a mutual respect.

Standing up slowly, Gallant turned to the guild recruits and spoke through his radius based telepathy once more.

"Well done... we are victorious. Your guildmaster will be made well aware of all you still standing, and your fallen comrades valor. Now then... is everyone alright? We should cross quickly... the bridge has taken enough damage."

With his words said, Gallant quickly moved to the other side of the flowing river. This extended and cut off area of the dungeon had slightly darker grass and higher hills, with a few paths leading in various directions. The Scyther must have headed down one of them.

"Fan out recruits. The attacker who took the treasure and set the trap must be around here somewhere..."

    Terra

Terra remained in absolute awe of all of her fellow guild members. No sooner had they finished repairing the bridge did they suddenly find themselves under attack from a rather dangerous looking Scyther and his cohorts. Terra wanted desperately to help them, she really did. But just looking at those razor-sharp blades on the Scyther, the pointy-tips of those Beedrill stingers, and the rather tough, durable looking Poliwhirl group made her cower even more than she had that time she and her brothers were attacked by a Luxray who wanted their hard earned berries.

Terra's brain was practically screaming at her, demanding that she turn tail and run. It was something that the little Cubone had every intention of doing as well. However, as she prepared to flee back towards the guild's camp, she caught sight of some of her guild friends, being carted off from what had once been a peaceful bridge turned battleground. Clearly, they had been either overpowered or exhausted from the long fight. Terra really was not sure, as she dare not bring herself to watch any of the fighting if she could help it. That said, she did feel a twinge of guilt in her heart as she watched them being carried off, most likely to the infirmary.

"W-What... what if something happens to them?" Terra whispered, clutching her bone club even tighter than she had been before. "They could both be seriously hurt or... or something worse... and it's m-my fault... I was too scared to help them fight."

Glancing back out to the battlefield, Terra found herself mentally debating just what she should do. The guild, those who were left fighting, seemed to be handling the situations rather well. It was something that made her feel great relief within her heart, yet as she scouted the battles... Terra suddenly realized something was missing. Or rather, someone was missing.

    "Where's that Scyther...?"

No matter how hard she looked, Terra did not see the Scyther involved in any of the battling. And if that meant that he was not there fighting, then chances were he probably took off back across the bridge, no doubt with his eyes on keeping that treasure to himself. A sudden burst of determination shown through in Terra's violet eyes. She had failed her guild when they needed her, both in repairing the bridge and with fighting off the intruders. However, she would not let this Scyther get away with what was rightfully theirs. It just would not be right! Slinging her club over her shoulder, the small Cubone began to waddle her way as quickly and stealthfully across the bridge as she could. She had to track that Scyther down and get the treasure... She just had to!

The Beedril sputtered, the Beedril slowed. Elly had just as much energy as she did when she started attacking this thing. She would keep at it until it collapsed... her eyes glaring down at the creature with a sort of manic energy. A sadistic grin spread across her face.

    [@LinearAxel] [@Infinite] [@Varys]

But something snapped her out of this odd state. The Espurr heard a familiar voice shouting at her, telling her to... saving her from...

...Another Beedril. The series of events unfolded quickly before her eyes as she absent-mindedly continuing her clawing of her pinned down Beedril, not noticing that it had eventually ceased all movement and struggle. Tahni let out an impressive roar. some random Spinda pinned it down, and an oddly colored Tyrunt crunched the thing into oblivion, causing it to fall harmlessly beside her. She had to close to gaping open mouth from the amount of coordination and teamwork they had displayed.

"I've got to step up my game..." Uttered the feline to herself as she stepped off of her insect prey. That familiar feeling of doubt began to consume her, and she quite abruptly lost that vicious spark within her. That was the one thing that was painful about feelings; they just came and went whenever they pleased and it was so difficult to control the transition. She could feel so fired up, so ready to take on the world one moment. Then the next, she would lose that to sadness.

    [@FireSnow]

    And then she choked.

She had been so consumed in her brooding angsty thoughts that she hadn't noticed a disgusting Trubbish warning others to hold their breaths. The noxious odor slithered its way into her lungs as Elly desperately wheezed out for relief, her eyes watering wildly. Trying to escape what was possibly the worst thing she had ever smelled, she stumbled around as drunk as that Spinda and then crashed to the floor. Though the odor eventually dispersed, the effects were quite vividly felt. It felt as though there was a weight thrust upon her bones, insidiously feeding itself upon her energy as though it were some hungry parasite. All she could do was continue to lay on the ground, face down, knowing that any sudden movement would cause this noxious affliction to flare up. Knowing that she was now useless.

Things were going so well too...

Tahni made a note to herself to thank Gosu when they got back to camp. She could have protected the Fennekin if it was needed, she could have stood over him and shot off embers to keep the rampaging Pokemon away, of course...they could fire back at her, and they were mostly water types, and no matter how much she leered that only seemed to power up attacks where she physically touched another Pokemon, it did nothing for ember... The point was that her little pal was way better off in the invisible arms of the more experienced ghost type, on his way back to the tents to be healed...by that creepy Mime...hopefully the doctor only acts so bizarre as a joke. A very, very bad joke.

Anyway, she can't worry about those two right now. If she doesn't give this mission her full attention she could easily find herself in one of those traps. They were going to give that thieving Scyther what for, teach it what happens when you steal from their guild. Her little tail flickers with determination as she listens to Gallant's praise and plan of action. Alright! The target this time is a bug type Pokemon! This was going to be a lot easier for her than fending off a Poliwhirl-- if she gets to fight Scyther.

That big green bug saw their party as he flew by, he knows they're a pretty big group (smaller now, but still pretty big). He's probably gathering some more recruits to fight with him, just in case they got out of this scenario, and who knows what those Pokemon are going to be. She'll have to battle through those Pokemon to get to Scyther, and in the time it would take, someone with better attacks will most likely have gotten to Scyther already. Well, that's a bummer, but she will get to fight something, and who knows? Maybe that something will give her enough oomph to learn a new attack...or even evolve.

Now even more pumped she starts her way back across the bridge. This was better than her and Elly's original plan; this Scyther's got to be way stronger than anything they could find at random. Speaking of Elly...Where is Elly? She's not up ahead...Tahni turns around to see if her new friend is following. The answer: She's not. The little lioness looks around their previous battlefield until she takes note of a little grey pile of fur.

    Oh...crud.

"Elly!" She calls, darting back across the bridge. When she reaches the kitten, she uses her paw to turn her around, so she's not lying face first in the dirt. What happened? She was handling herself so well! She took that Beedril down like no one's business and then... and then that stupid Trubbish tried to poison them all.

"Man down!" She alerts the group. Okay, woman down, but that's not a phrase. "Does anyone have a Pecha berry?"

    TREY

    @LinearAxel @Arylett Charnoa

Trey stood there within his Poison Gas attack as he watched its effects. The Poliwhirl who first got hit had gone down pretty quickly but he wasn't sure how everyone else, friend and foe, had turned out. The gas was so thick. Then all of a sudden it was gone. He looked over to Gallant who was the only one capable of doing such a thing. At first Trey was upset but one look into Gallant's eyes and an approving nod told him he had done alright, though maybe a different tactic could've been used. Trey looked down with a somber smile and blood rushing to his face. Once again, he had done okay but not perfect, one of these times it would happen though. With the battle seeming to be just about over he looked around and noticed a small grey Pokemon laying face down on the ground, slight convulsions noticeably coming from its body.Trey recognized it as Elly, the Espurr and sped off to look for a Pecha Berry. His Poison Gas clearly had not done exactly what he intended for it and that was not good. If he didn't hurry, Elly would be in serious trouble. He left Gallant to deal with the last couple of Poliwhirl to search the area for a single Pecha Berry.

Trey quickly ran into the forest and turned around a corner, just about running into a Pecha Berry tree. He gathered himself, grabbed one of them and sprinted back towards the group. As he rounded the bend that lead to the group he could hear a voice.

"Man down! Does anyone have a Pecha berry?"

It was Tahni, a fiery Litleo. "I've got one!" Trey shouted as he ran towards everyone, "Elly is going to be alri...woah!" As fate would have it, a stray root from a tree was jutting out and with his typical luck, Trey tripped over it, losing hold of the Pecha Berry. "Oof! The Pecha Berry!" Trey yelled out as he struggled back to his feet. He quickly realized that he wasn't going to reach the berry in time though as it sailed for the river. If it got to the water, it'd be lost forever. Without a thought, as usual, Trey went into a Rollout attack, quickly gaining speed as he rolled down the hill. Just as he was about to hit the river, he jumped out of it into the air, catching the berry as he landed in the river with a splash but the berry safely in his grasp. Though not pretty, Trey finally seemed to be doing something right.

Trey managed to get himself out of the river after a few tries. Trey wasn't exactly built to swim but he could manage. Finally on the bank, he reached Tahni and Elly, placing the Pecha Berry near Elly's mouth. "Here eat this, it'll make you feel better in no time. Sure am sorry I put you through all this. Hope you can forgive me" Trey's eyes welled up as he gave a nervous smile and stepped back to give the little Pokemon some space.

He had just about severely injured one of his fellow guild members. Word was sure to get to Bronzong about this. He wondered what he would say when he found out about it. Wouldn't be anything good that's for sure. Trey couldn't worry about that now though, Elly was hurt and there was a Scyther to catch. He would have to face Bronzong later but not now. Trey sniffled, wiped his face with his little trash arms and snapped back to reality as he waited patiently for Elly to eat the Pecha Berry. Once that was done, it was on towards Scyther and the treasure.

    Russell

Even with the fight over, Russell still felt pretty pumped. He had gotten lucky, and emerged from the fight unscathed. He'd even avoided poison from Trey's attack. Sadly, the same couldn't be said for many of his Guild mates. "Anyone who's too hurt to keep fighting, head back to the guild. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask. I say the rest of us keep going! Let's go get the treasure!"

He didn't care that Gallant was technically in charge here. Gallant was looking tired, so maybe someone else should step up. Russell's advice made sense, and as long as he was here, this mission was practically guaranteed. "Don't worry, Gallant. You lead them back to base, and I'll take over from here. That nasty green bug's got another thing coming if he thinks he can wrassle with Russell!" He struck a pose, fists on his hips as he stands proudly by the bridge.
