My first time using Salazzle, she's a great team member! Ampharos I use in every playthrough if it's available so no surprise there lol. Still debating what to get for team member #6...

    Nature: Naughty

    Mudsdale
    Nickname: Buckerius
    Level: 34
    Gender Female
    Nature: Adamant

    Murkrow
    Nickname: Opal Loomer
    Level: 35
    Gender: Female
    Nature: Lonely

    Butterfree
    Nickname: Scale Morpho
    Level: 34
    Gender: Female
    Nature: Mild

    Comfey

    Gender: Female
    Nature: Calm

    Flaaffy
    Nickname: Ralmung
    Level: 28
    Gender: Male

As you can see the second version of the game is very personal to me. It's things I would catch in "reality" that I can tame as a Trainer. While the first game is a bit unrealistic in taming what I cannot.

I wanted to use a Gengar in a playthrough, and when I came across a Mareep, I couldn't help but snag myself one. Otherwise, standard "use the Water starter for first playthrough" and event Rockruff.

  • My team (Third Island)

Stephen the Naive Decidueye (Level 38)
    Naughty Lilligant (Level 39)
Charlotte the Naughty Tsareena (Level 39)
Donovan the Sassy Torterra (Level 39)
Evan the Adamant Leafeon (Level 38)
Jennifer the Sassy Cottonee (Level 25)

This team is struggling against Bug Moves but the only Grass/Poison type available is the Bulbasaur line which I can't get until Friday and would give me three starter lines on my team. I would really like to evolve Jennifer but I think the game only gives you one Sun Stone.

I've got the Totem Lurantis now too (Natalya) but I am not sure if I should use her in a challenge run.

Currently got a predicament mmyself. Love my current team, really don't want to drop any, they're all complete babes.
All around level 20, got Torracat (Max fist), Rockruff (Ruffles), Zorua (Courage), Fomantis (Brandice), inkay (Disco Death) and Hawlucha (Rawk). Really want a Dewpider, sweet design, awesome ability, solid choice. What do I drop? My brain says Zorua but how can anyone say no to that face.
Also, some of you lot are mega far in the game, my word. Good job though

I've had my team kind of planned out for a while now, though I've already made a couple changes as I went along based on the things I've encountered or caught on the fly. Originally, the Mudsdale and Golisopod you see below were not planned to be included; they were so good that I just had to add them. Whether or not I was going to keep my starter was up in the air for a long time, as well - the only thing I knew for sure that I wanted was Totem Salazzle, which was going to be my ace when I considered a Poison monotype team. I've just made it to Malie City, after which I collected the last sticker to grab Salazzle, and then battled Hau; his team was closer in level to mine than I expected and it was a fun battle! I'm still planning to get a very specific Pikachu later, which I'll probably evolve into Alolan Raichu, and in addition I'm thinking about an Alolan Sandslash (I'm playing in Ultra Moon and don't want to trade for any of my team this time around). I'm relatively committed to keeping my team type-balanced, so they'd be great additions and I really like them anyway!

Is anyone using the totem Pokémon on their team? I boxed my first two, but decided to add Lurantis as my grass type. It's just so big and adorable. I'm happy with the decision so far.

Yes. I am also using the Grass Totem. The stats of the Totem Pokemon are said to be the same as one of their regular counterparts other than their increased size.

My team (End of Third Island)

Natalya the Relaxed Totem Lurantis (Level 42)
    Naughty Lilligant (Level 40)
Charlotte the Naughty Tsareena (Level 41)
Donovan the Sassy Torterra (Level 39)
Evan the Adamant Leafeon (Level 40)
Stephen the Naive Decidueye (Level 38)

Training in Haina Desert as I was a touch underlevelled for the battle against Nanu although Natalya handled his team pretty handily. It is somewhat amusing to see the Totem Lurantis stood next to my adorable Lilligant.

Surprisingly Stephen hasn't really done anything since evolving and I am thinking of adding the Bulbasaur line to my team.

That is my team. I sometimes rotate Arbo the Arbok but I think I'll finish the game with my current team and save Arbo for post game training.
