Pokemon Spot the Difference

Pair 175:
1. Took off a bit of the main character's eyebrow on the left side
2. Cut off one of the white frills between Espathra's leg and main body. Specifies the leg on the right side of the image.

Never noticed the area near Espathra's eyes is blue too. Ditto for two of the talons being white and the other purple. Went wild with its colors.

Pair 176:
1. Removed one of the white swirls on the main character's watch (or some kind of black and gray wrist strap).
2. Extended the blue part of Grafaiai's middle finger.

Pair 177:
1. Fattened up the pink spike at the top of Flamigo's head
2. Extended the seam on the glove over by one finger to the left
3. Erased one of the white lines on a tile to the right of Flamigo's right-side wing. (Technically a little more in line with the left-side wing.)

Caught the first two quickly. Spent longer on the third. Inspected some of the closer tiles earlier on. Held off on the ones further away.

Pair 178:
1. Changed Meowscarada's mouth from an m-shape to an n-shape.
2. Sharpened the bridge of the glasses (the center part) to points.
3. Removed a horizontal seam on the trainer's shirt to the right of the top of the tie.

Expected those glasses to change eventually.

Pair 179:
1. Removed the line on top of Sliggoo's right-side eye
2. Erased the red at the doorway area (above the stairs) to...Motostoke, probably.
3. Shrunk Goomy's middle blue dot.

Missed the Goomy difference multiple times. Eyed where the lines hit on the circle. Kept that close enough to not trigger a double-take.

Pair 180:
1. Swapped the L and R buttons at the bottom-right
2. Cut off one of the spiky tree limbs on the log on the ground, left of Hisuian Goodra.
3. Sheared off a second spiky tree limb on the tree in the background. Specifically, the limb three from the top of the further back tree between the player and Hisuian Sliggoo.

Found the first two differences without looking closely at the three characters in front. Spent a solid 40 minutes on that last difference alone (not including a break in there). Checked those background trees multiple times. Fully expected one back there before finding the second difference. Might have been a little too small, however.

Focused on the main trio after the second difference. Stared at those spots on at the base of Hisuian Goodra's tail for some time. Swears on the shape changing slightly. (Was between intentional change and unintentional change. Settled on the latter.) Zoomed in afterward. Discovered zero change between them, though. Shrugs.

Pair 181:
1. Removed one of the yellow dots on the fabric beneath the picnic basket on the ground
2. Changed the ZR command to "Throh".
3. Took off the bottom rung of the ladder

Liked the Throh change. Missed that bottom ladder rung for a while because of it blending in with the dark area at the bottom. Sees it clearly now, though.

Pair 182:
1. Erased one of the 'X' lines on the fabric of the tablecloth.
2. Took out the small background rock right above Espathra (second from the left of the four rocks).
3. Added light brown triangles on the dark brown part above Espathra's head

Arguably looks more natural with those triangles added in.

No big sticking points on either pair. Spent the longest on the ladder one at maybe 5-10 minutes. Found the 'X' of the tablecloth difference of 182 very quickly thanks to poring over the design in 181.

Pair 183:


Realized the futility of trying to describe the bottom-edge difference. Went with images.

Tried to figure out what the red-topped jar is. Marmalade, maybe? Used a different sprite for the ingredient, oddly.

Liked this pair. Provided lots of interesting things to look at. Contained intricate, but large patterns.

Pair 184:


Declined to try to describe the Garganacl difference accurately and succinctly.

Pair 185:
1. Changed the NPC to looking at Gothorita
2. Removed a tree (or a little circle of dark green) on the right side of the minimap
3. Removed two blue hexagons on the wall, roughly 14 hexagons above the Clefairy-like sprite left ear, starting from the above the black border.

Changed the NPC's pose quite well. Stood out, certainly, but not due to anything odd around the actual NPC.

Pair 186:
1. Took out Arboliva's top-right olive (on the actual Pokemon)
2. Removed Heracross's left antenna (on the actual Pokemon)
3.

Not finding that third one. Looked at the Pokemon (actual and sprites), icons, font, bars, wall pattern, ground crystals (big and fragments), and the Tera hat multiple times. Probably passed by this several times already. Could just be too zoomed in. Noticed that large crystal on the left edge very late.

Helped to have Arboliva's sprite on screen, also. Barely notices the olive's disappearance with it being dark purple on black.

Pair 187:
1. Erased the Pokeball the trainer was tossing up
2. Removed a little brown circle in the water on the left side of the minimap
3. Cut off the middle hair on the Swablu in front of Altaria

Got all of these in less time than the first difference of Pair 186.

hmm... perhaps it's too subtle, but...


I do see it when I look at the pair but I obviously now where to look 🙄

Must be Weavile's tail feather, then. (Already found a difference on two of them. Figured neither of them. Narrowed it down a lot.)

Flipped between them after finding it. Seems like a decent amount of extra feather. Would not have caught it without the hint, though. Sits relatively far away from other reference points (Weavile's elbow being the closest, with its head feathers next). Looks pretty natural too, arguably more than the original.

Pair 188:


Took way longer than it should have to find that gold medal change. Chalks it up to another case of overfocusing. Counted the three little dots above and below it. Passed right by the far larger thing.

Pair 189:
1. Added an extra circle to the Poisoned status
2. Dropped from 273 hitpoints to 263
3. Changed the right-hand reflection of Inteleon's eye to green

Looked at that reflection early on. Focused mainly on the head fin. Was not looking for a color change. (Changes pretty drastically, for the record.) Might have been paid less attention to color because of the sheer amount of sparkles and rainbows in the image. Shrugs.

Pair 190:


Scoured this for a long time. Persisted only because of fewer areas for change. Spotted the Dragalge and shadow change. Got stuck on the sock spot. Gave everything several looks over. Scrutinized Bruxish and the minimap the longest, probably. Came back the next day after being stumped the day before. Likely helped to have both images open in Paint and zoomed in this time. (Usually only opens Paint to mark changes.)

First set:
#1 Team Star guy on the bottom pic's wearing sunglasses.

#2 A green smudge is missing from the bottom tent's front flap.

#3 Pass. It's probably super obvious, I'm just blind lol.

Second set:
#1 Flipped Ice Type symbol.

#2 Altered star on the bottom Ability Patch.

#3 the leaves on the bottom Violet school seal only have 2 stems(? or whatever you'd call them), the top seal has 3.

Pair 191:

Did a good job drawing the glasses on.

Pair 192:
1. Changed the four-pointed star on the Ability Patch to a line
2. Flipped the reflection line on the Ice-type icon (near the right-edge) to the other side.
3. Removed the middle, vertical line in the leaves at the bottom of the academy logo.

Not too bad, overall. Almost certainly looked at the last difference of pair 192 multiple times without noticing somehow.
