The Art of RNG [RNG Guide & Discussion]

Do I need to need to catch the pokemon before or after I save my game. To make it synch with the RNG program.

Also what do the timers mean on here the min and max

[PokeCommunity.com] The Art of RNG [RNG Guide & Discussion]

Sorry another question. Do I have to shut off my 3DS for this to work or just the game?

Sorry another question. Do I have to shut off my 3DS for this to work or just the game?

Save the game? The only time you should be saving the game for calibration is ONCE and that's at the beginning of the "procedure", you save in an area where you intend to catch high leveled Pokemon in order to input them into the DS Parameters window. So BASICALLY

1. Save in an area with high leveled Pokemon

2. Turn game off and set the arbitrary time to which you will be inputting into the DS Parameters window.

3. Using EonTimer to know when to start the game up from the MAIN window of the DS/3DS.

4. Get into the game and catch Pokemon and input data into the DS Parameters window.

That's it, once you get the results you redo the whole process without saving. The timer0's are basically what you're landing on for the given reset. They WILL be different but if you do the process enough times you can narrow it down to ones that you hit more often then others, this being especially true for Black 2/White 2.

Here's a pair I wanted to show off:

HP: Dragon / 70

The challenge I set for myself was to RNG these each to be on Solstice. The Lunatone has a caught date of Dec 21, 2013, and the Solrock has a caught date of June 21, 2013. Also, catching these both on opposite games (Note, Solrock on my White, and Lunatone on my Black). I kind of wish a little in hindsight that I had caught the Solrock with a HP of Fire instead of Dragon. When looking for a spread I liked for some reason Dragon felt right and thematic, but later I kind of wished I had gone for Fire instead. Regardless, I am proud of my work on this little duo.

Too many other recent RNG's to share. Entre link abuse on B/W is sure keeping me busy.

Question too:
Is it possible to RNG a Wurmple on B/W out of the entrelink and predict what it will be once evolved? Or is the C-Gear going to prevent that? Same question... Is that perhaps possible in B2/W2? Or should if I want it's evolutionary lineswith dream world ability will I need to just breed one and forget about getting the pretty dream balls?

Techno Blast, Magnet Bomb, SolarBeam, Signal Beam

This bugger kept me up until 3 (which is nowish) and I'm almost a year late and the set is generic but I am so darned proud. I think I'm tearing up.

I was finally able to RNG something else on my Korean Black game again. I gotta tell you though...it was hard..........

I haven't done RNG in a long while, but I'm finally gonna try catching an RNG'd Kyogre after months of delaying. (No pun intended)

I'll post the results here soon if I get it.

Another year in the making. Not as proud of this one because his Sp. Defense is so imperfect compared to the Genesect I popped out. So shame.

I'm interested on doing wondercards myself, so far I've only done an emu rng abuse, not sure if you'd guys would like that.

Nice job, Mia and Jolteon! Mia, what was the issue? :(

What Griff said was for the ID, but for Tepig I don't know. I think the timer0 on the Korean game is more trolly than on my English games. Definitely only doing RNGs with no NPCs around on this game. Make my life a little bit easier. x]

After hours of fidgeting about and frustration I finally got it!@@@

Spoiler:

Modest 31/28/28/31/28/31, not completely flawless but still more than happy with it.

If I can get a Groudon from one of my friends I'll probably try Rayquaza next.

Congrats! Love 4th gen RNGs. They aren't as easy as 5th gen, so well done! <3

Well I decided to try RNG and see if I could finally get the hang of it, and I did! I got a shiny Woobat with random IV's (because this was just a test) but at least now I know I can do it!

Nice job there! :D Hope to see more from you. Always nice to see new RNGers. >.<

Did more RNGs today but on W2 this time. :D

Nice > 3< (especially that Articuno from earlier > 3<)

I RNG'd a shiny litwick with 31's in HP, Spe. Attack, and Speed. Would have done all 31's but it was mostly another test. I am probably going to try Breeding RNG next.
