[PokeCommunity.com] How well will you die?!

Dying/losing in a game can sometimes be as amusing/important as winning. You ever die/lose in a hilarious/epic fashion? You ever cause someone else to die/lose in an amusing/epic way? Wanna talk about a certain character's death? This is the thread for talking about death (and losing) in video games, because, let's face it, that happens a lot.

I was once playing SnD Hardcore Ricochet on Call of Duty: MW3. And a sniper (from my team) was holing himself on a landing. It took a few tries but I stood to the right of him, out of his sight and when he fired his shot, I stood in front of him and had him kill me. And if you played Hardcore Ricochet you would know team killing causes your own character to die as a penalty. So although he didn't mean to kill me intentionally, he was still penalized as if he did.

    :3

When I find myself playing Crash Bandicoot I get overly hasty and start bombing through the level, and then end up dying maybe 5-8 times in a row from the same enemy before copping on. I get super screamy and shouty though which my boyfriend finds hilarious when he watches......

Whenever the last man defending a fort in the Total War games goes on a killing spree before falling, it's awesome to behold. Best in Shogun 2 with the last man in a Samurai Retainers unit because... you know, they're samurai, the warrior class for whom death and single combat are themes of existence.

I had one of the most awesome losses i could ever imagine (as a RTS fan).

In a 4v4 on StarCraft II, all my teammates randomly left (appeared there was a pro SCII player playing 4v4's aswell and they only wanted to play with/against him), and it ended up as a 1v4. Despite giving up (cause i could never win this game) i just tried to defeat them all and i nearly did. My base was ruined after 10 mins but i had 3 tanks. With those 3 tanks i managed to kill 2 players before my last building ended up dying. Those 3 tanks should deserve a medal.

Also a funny death happened in C&C: Reborn (a standalone FPS game made of the Renegade engine, based on Tiberian Sun). I was focusing on taking down a enemy tank when suddenly the AI Harvester roadkilled me. It was humiliating, yet hilarious.

In some first-person shooter (don't remember which) I had kept losing to a sniper, who was doing crazy well and kept managing to give everybody the slip over and over again. Eventually I had given up on subtlety and was just rocket launchering everything. I guess I was the only one left with him I finally saw him, and fired a rocket at him. He got a headshot on me before the rocket hit him, ending the match, and in the instant replay I could see that the rocket was maybe three feet from his head when I died.

that is, hands down, the best winning Killcam EVER :) imo anyway

It was a Saturday night, I was playing Fallout: New Vegas, and I was hell-bent on killing Caesar. After fighting my way through the Fort with my fully-modded Anti-Materiel Rifle, I had entered Caesar's tent. With my health low and my gun not suited for dealing with the large crowd of Praetorian Guards, I decided to step back and chuck a Frag Grenade into the group. Unfortunately, I was too close to the grenade when it detonated. The explosion caused my body to fly upward into the sky, blood dripping from the stump where my arm used to be.

Really, I think CoD is known to have a lot of weird, glitchy deaths that make it fun. However, I think it's always fun when you get stuck by a Semtex to run at the enemy and ultimately blow them up with you :3

One of my most amusing deaths would have to be in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. We were doing a team-deathmatch at the map called "Hijacked." As soon as the match began, someone threw their knife across the sky and, somehow, it ended up landing on me. This killed me instantly and left me pretty confused, but few minutes later though, I started to realize what had actually happened. :p

I had a similar experience in BO1. The first multiplayer match I ever played. It was on Hanoi and I was level 1. Had not played the MP once. The timer goes down, I take few steps forward as soon as the match began I got Tomahawked from across the map, from the enemy teams spawn, 4 seconds into my first MP match ever.

    Oh god those times...

I got teamkilled by the allied AI recently in Far Cry 3. They just roadkilled me while they usually should stop, which was pretty confusing and my sis just laughed at it while i was mad at my allies... xD

Yes! When I played MW3 a lot (that was the only COD game I played a lot of for such a long time) I would intentionally hold onto a sticky and run up to an enemy or group of enemies. It was so risky, but fun. I had such fun times in that game.

Also, when I'm DDD in Smash Bros., sucking up someone then suiciding off the stage then having them rage can be a blast too.
