22/09/15 - Wow! It's been a long time since I last updated this thread. So, here is the deal. School started up on September 7th and since then, I haven't had much time to work on the hack. School is very, very important at the moment. I have a lot of homework and I don't have much time to work on Intel during the week. My weekends are also filled with sports and homework. As you can see, I don't have much, if any time to work on Pokémon: Intel right now! I will have a few holidays during the school year. This means that it is possible for me to work on it for 2 weeks from December 17th to January 4th and then again during March break. Hopefully by the beginning of the summer, I can release a new version of Pokémon: Intel.

Who Am I?
Hello there, My name is Ian(aka: TheRealOCD) I've been hacking for 1 year now.
I've developed 3 other hacks; Pokemon Crystal Clear, Pokemon FireRed Reborn and Pokemon: Hybrid version.
I've abandoned all those hacks to work on Pokemon: Intel Version because when i was thinking of a story for Pokemon: Intel,
i came up with a very unique story line which you will see later on in the thread. I am super exited to be working on Pokemon: Intel Version!

Story
You are a 11 year old boy, One morning you come downstairs and you see your mom watching Television. When you
look over to see what she was watching, you dropped the remote control and you change the channel by accident.
You bend over to pick up the remote control and when you get back up, you look at the television screen and you see these
amazing creatures you've never seen before. Your mother tells you it was just a cartoon and to go get dressed. Once your in
your room, you start thinking to your self... "Those looked just like the creatures i saw outside behind the house". Then you
realize that your mother was lying to you, Every time she said "Pokemon aren't real!", she was lying. But why was she lying?
You go talk to your mother about it and she gets very upset. She says she going upstairs to take a nap. You then decide to
grab all of your gear and head out on a journey to figure out why your mother had been lying to you for so long.

I feel like our mother is going to find us halfway on our journey and just beat us for going out on a journey without her knowing. lol I wonder how this hack will turn out. :)

I've gotta say, the storyline doesn't make that much sense. It would be like me believing birds didn't exist simply because my mother has told me all my life that "birds aren't real."

Also, the mapping really leaves a lot to be desired. There's really not a lot going on in any of the maps.

EDIT: By the way, do you have permission to use that Elm sprite in the intro?

I really like the Title screen but some maps still need some work. I like the story it's very different from others. I really hope you finish this one. Do we get pokemons here?

Well, I don't know how many hacks are you going to make? But back on topic, Maps are very simple & clean. Route 1 has not got any grass for wild pokemon( but the would be in water). Story is different but I don't understand how are we gonna get our first Pokemon. Is Elm in the empty town to give us Pokemon?

These maps look empty, there should me more, I think. I don't really see much going on for this hack. I feel a bit disappointed that Hybrid was cancelled for this, but I'll followoit regardless.

wont u complete any hack u start .you always give fake promises of releasing alpha/beta just try complete this hack atleast before your mood changes

Well, im not done developing the story with. actually, there's a lot missing from the threads "story".
These aren't the final versions of these maps. Plus, there will be NPC's.

Like i said before, these aren't the final versions of the maps. There will be a lot of changes made to them before the first release.

You don't get your first pokemon until you reach Brumley City. You'll have to wait for the beta!

Yes, there's a lot more to the story of Pokemon: Intel Version.

Like i said, there;s a lot more to this story that you will see once a beta is released.

To be honest, everything of the hack need improvement, the main plot are a 10-year typical storyline, the maps are very empty, the new graphics can be better.

Really, you need work more on your hacks before to post them.

It's a shame Hybrid had to go poof, but this hack's looking like a more than worthy successor! There's a lot of good stuff shown so far, Good luck with this one, OCD.

The story line is very unique...

Anyways, i am going to change all the trainer sprites to the HGSS ones and i might change some battle backgrounds.

Well, I gotta stay the tiles are indeed beautiful. However, the mapping is too blah. Those spaces needs to be filled and it doesn't look very well. Some trees are just scattered too small for a map and it kinda doesn't make sense, honestly. But I do like the titlescreen c: You need to improve your mapping, they don't look very well. Lol another hack OCD?! I must say your story isn't bad, but the one thing that really struck me as odd about it was how you're 11 with absolutely no knowledge of Pokemon. Like you'd have to be a hermit not to know what they are (sorry if you get offended, it's meant to be a joke). So I am interested at how that will be explained. And like everyone else, the mapping does leave a lot to be desired. I'm fine with Empty Island being bare since it's supposed to be empty, but Brumley City does need some work. Stealing a section from link12552's Advance Map tutorial (link!, he lists these four things that you may want to put in the back of your mind for future reference:

§ Avoid placing objects in straight lines
§ Ponds and lakes aren't square
§ Neither are naturally formed patches of vegetation
§ Trees tend to not grow in perfect columns

And his example to this were these two pictures:

Personally would you prefer the left or right one? Most people would prefer the right.

^ Squares aren't bad, but there needs to be some variety. Your cave map is actually really nice - bit odd with the waterfall/ice but it works and the shape is simple, yet not boring. You should try applying the same mapping style to your towns - imagine that instead of having to border your cave with cliffs, you need to border your towns with mountains/trees/both.

Alpha 1.0.0 Announced!
