  • Damian laughed as well, surprised at himself. He always tried desprately to keep up the facade of the composed nobleman. Despite the gathering crowd around them, he felt that they were in a private world. Still a shade nervous, he said quietly "Would you like to go up to the dome? There's an incredible view from the deck.?

  • Nat smiled, "Sure!" she said, dropping the fancy tone in her voice. She felt it wasn't necessary around Damian.

She took his hand and allowed him to steer her in the correct direction.

  • Damian lead Nat away from the crowds and into a nearly deserted hallway. Explaining, he said "We're taking the back way up. It's a lot shorter and much less crowded." On the fourth floor, he walked to the end of a shared room and unlocked a small door hidden in the wall. It lead to a spiral staircase mate of unadorned utilatarian(sp) steel.

  • Nat was suprised at Damian's knowledge of the palace. She looked him over, and nervously brushed a strand of long curly hair away from her face. The funny feeling in her stomach refused to leave.

  • Noting the quizzical look on Nat's face, Damian said kindly "I work here, actually. Ministry of Internal Affairs." He began ascending the stairs, boots clanging on the cold metal. Coming to another door, he unlocked it, a blast of cold wind hitting his face.

  • Nat smiled. She shivered slightly as a chilly wind struck her face. She was glad for the full length dress and gloves she had worn that night.

Upon moving through the door Damian had opened Nat found herself looking over a huge amount of land (I think....). The sight made her gasp.

    "Damian, it's beautiful!"

  • Damian smiled at hearing this, placing his hands on the rail and leaning out, saying "Aye, it is at that." The wind had, if anything, turned more vicious. buffeting the pair head on. He said "It'd probably be less windy on the southern side. Shall we move?"
<OOC>Okay, and now I need to go. Bed and all that. I don't know that I'll be on tomorrow, but I'll try.<OOC>

  • "Sure," Nat said quietly, heading back inside.

Without the roar of the wind, it seemed as though someone had placed earmuffs over her ears. Everything seemed so quiet. The hall was totally deserted.

((This seems interesting! I would like to join now, if it would be okay. I might control an extra one of my made-up characters or two, though, such as my character's mother, etc.))

Kayleigh stepped out of the carriage, keeping careful not to trip on her long gown. It was terribly uncomfortable, and she hated it like nothing else.
As she was being escorted towards the entrance of the palace, she glanced back to look at her mother, who was also on her way to the door. She turned back around and sighed. Her whole life was so boring. All that there ever was to it was the same old pointless things; She wanted adventure, but she figured that it would never come. As she entered the ball room, the sheer beauty of it stunned her. Her emerald eyes glistened in the light of the large chandelier that hung above.

As she finally reached the top of the steps, she waited for her mother, and then they both walked down towards the ball room floor. She looked around the area, but the only things that seemed to interest her were the decorations.

  • It was a quick walk across the dome to the other side, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. With the moon gleaming off the water and the glaciatic bay just visible to the far south, it made for an ethreal sight. Damian turned back to nat, just arriving throught the door. Quietly, and hoping he wasn't taking too much of a liberty, he slipped his hand into her.

  • OOC: I'll come in here as my namesake, Chairman Takeshi Kaga...none of you will understand anything about him, but he'll be kind of funny XP

BIC: Chairman Kaga hoped that no one would recognize...after he chose to fake his death and end his Kitchen Stadium, he had wandered from place to place, driven half-mad with the desire to taste new cuisine that would rival that of his Iron Chefs...this was his latest stop, a palace on the waterfront. It looked ritzy enough to have something suitable for a gourmet such as himself, and he still had almost unlimited funds in his offshore bank accounts...closing Kitchen Stadium was the worst decision of his life, and he regreted it greatly, but he could never change it. Faking one's death is almost as permanent as death. He stumbled onto the outside patio of the area and looked around, adjusting his sequined cloak and hood to hide most of his features...

"This should do for now...just a bit of their chefs' fare and I'm on my way..."

As she watched her mother quickly greet the other people, Kayleigh just stood where she was, grasping her small purse tightly. She was a shy girl, and she wasn't very social, and the fact that this whole party didn't interest her at all didn't help.
I wish that mother would quit bringing me to these stupid parties... she thought, frowning. There must be something interesting here, though.
She looked around once more, and then spotted the patio outside, which overlooked the ocean.
"Oh!" she gasped, as she quickly walked towards the area. The only light outside came from the bright moon, and a few candles that sat on top of a table. She walked towards the side of the rail, looking out towards the sea.
    Finally... Some peace and quiet.

  • Nat smiled as Damian slipped his and into hers. She stepped to the railing and looked over, still holding his hand.

"This is so beautiful, Damian. You're lucky to be able to gaze like this every night."

  • "I suppose so," Damian sighed. "I don't get to most nights, though." He looked down and smiled contentedly at Nat, continuing "It seems all the better with you here."

  • Nat blushed. She had never felt the way she did now before. She smiled as she sat down, and blushed again.

"These shoes are killers to the feet!" she said playfully and patted the ground next to her, as an invitation.

  • "Indeed they are," Damian laughed, sitting down beside her. when he'd managed to arrange himself to his liking, he said "I'm afraid I still don't know a whole lot about you. But I would like to know."

  • "Well," Nat began. "I guess I'm interested in Astrology. I've always wanted to go to school for it, but mother is so old fashioned. She thinks women are to stay at home..." she trailed off.

Removing her hand from Damian's she pointed to the sky. "That cluster there is Orion, and there's Ursa Major and Minor."

She paused for a second, and said "I've been studying the skies for awhile, and if I'm correct, and unidentified comet is to cross the skies here tonight."

  • "Astrology..." Damian murmered. "Always seemed like a bit of an odd art to me, but an interesting one." He paused for a bit, looking at the sky as well, then said "And a comet? I've never seen one before."
