    As the story goes
    Since ancient times
    Many scholars and gentlemen
    Indulged in fine arts
    Great Yen has boundless territory
    Spectacular sights
More mysterious people and fantastical things
    Than anyone could count
    But there is one person
The world is contained in their brush strokes
Who has seen ancient oceans and fields
Who has seen man achieve godhood
Who has crossed thousands of mountains and rivers
Who has laughed at the waning moon
    Do my esteemed guests know
    This person's name
    And where they came from?

    Female | 15 | Celadon

Family: She has a older sister, a mother, and father. For generations, they say that her family was the latest generations of descendants who performed dances and summons for the legendary beast of the sky: Ho-oh. But even though it was not seen for decades, Ho-oh was deeply admired in her family, even with Ichika herself. When she was younger, around 7~8, there was one legend she was told about Ho-oh that stuck to her, even to this day: that one day, Ho-oh will show itself again to a trainer with a pure heart. Perhaps that was the catalyst of her admiration for Ho-oh; it was so brilliant that it only appeared before a chosen one.

Her older sister did not admire Ho-oh as much as Ichika did, however - even going as far to say, Ho-oh was just that: a legend. Even if it did existed, according to her, there's no way that it would appear again. After all, there's no such thing as a "pure hearted trainer". There's darkness in everyon's hearts, after all. To some degree, everyone is selfish and thinks about themselves. There's no use chasing a legend that might not even be there anymore. Ichika never took some comments to heart, as her goal became a simple one: when she grew up, she was going to become a trainer worthy of Ho-oh. If not, then surely there will be a trainer even more worthy of her, so that Ho-oh can one day appear once again.

Well, that's what she wanted to believe.

Brief history: The moment she turned 13, became the moment she enrolled in Cape College. She was admired for her budding talent: pokémon battles, and some general basics of pokémon terminology and the basics. Now, at first, she didn't really mind her fellow students, as she thought they were like her, and that they would do anything and everything to become a pokémon trainer, ready for whatever obstacle thrown at them, ready to take on the world. But over time, she realized one thing. These kids were terrible. Like, sincerely terrible. But not terrible as in a way they were bad kids... they problem is, Ichika was always sniffing for one thing from them. Their passion. Where was their passion? Why did they even enroll in this academy? Sure, their smiling faces and they way most of them got along with others was admirable, but beyond that, Ichika thought they were shallow shells. All style, no substance. No dreams? No desires? Some of them didn't even know what they wanted to do, or even have much desires to pop out of their bubble to be strong. As time passed by, Ichika became bored. Her sister might be right. Why would Ho-oh appear now, in the face of ambitionless trainers?

    Brave Warriors! The PokéSociety!

Her fears became eased as soon as she discovered Brave Warriors! The PokéSociety! This was a sort of Pokemon FanClub in Fuchsia, solely focused on budding new trainers - specially the students from the Cape College. It was a small club at the time, ran by a couple of other fellow students, and some teenagers/adults who were avid fans of pokémon and all the celebraties in the pokéworld - not really known outside of Fuchsia. Still, Ichika admired what the club was trying to accomplish, to scout the talent and passion of new trainers. She became so interested in it, she decided to join, and contribute. But how? It was then she had an idea. She discovered the power... of opinionated blogging.

    The Psychic-delic Blog
I'll call this blog title: HEXIC THUNDER

aka. Jarmie and Beaumont are BOTH Idiots.

Seriously. I like these two to death as trainers, but I sometimes wonder if there was a circus in town, because they are both clowns. And I know a trainer named Noel - she's the entire circus. But I digress.

Beaumont I think is a wonderful gym leader: he really knows electric-type pokémon, and can even give a well-prepared ground-type specialist a run for their money. But. You know what I hate about Beaumont? It's that two-bit goody-goody attitude, and how he pushes up his stupid glasses to make that tropey-anime smart guy look when he actually knows nothing? Well, actually, I can forgive that, but what I think I don't like the most is how he doesn't truly reach out to the people in Lavender. I can understand, helping everyone's lives be easier in an effort to help everyone be happy, but did he actually go out and ask the townspeople what they think? Does he really know the townspeople at all, outside of his "yes men"? The answer is "no". He needs to reach out to the people more. A town is defined by her people, after all.

And then there's Jarmie. Oh GOD there's Jarmie. You know, the girl who's only emotion is either "angry" or "grumpy". She's also a good battler - her Ghost-types are wonderful, and she knows how to bring the trickiness from them! Unfortunately, she's a nutcase. She's just as bad as Beaumont. So what the town is going for a make over - tradition isn't just going to go away from Lavender, honey! People there love tradition! What's wrong with change, seriously! Don't the townspeople follow you like a lovesick Nidoran searching for his mate anyway? They respect you. But you're still acting like someone put a Durant in your pants! How many times have she insulted Beaumont, when she could of used that brain power for something more practical? Like, I don't know, better music tastes?

It's just so sad that Lavender have to be effected by these two bickering like a Zangoose and Seviper when there are so many things they can work together towards! I love these two as Gym Leaders in their own right, and as pokémon battlers, I'd be honoured to fight them to learn from them. But that being said.

    You both are idiots.

Ichika's blog entries became widely known for being... unfiltered. However, to those have been reading them, it became... something refreshing. It was refreshing seeing someone being honest with their feelings, giving their opinions of trainers and gym leaders alike, but still gives some good insight about the latest news and trends about pokémon battling in general. Ichika's blogs began to have quite a following. Which grew bigger and bigger. Until... she reached 50,000 followers. Quite an impressive following, for a Kantoian blogger - so much so that the club began to see some more following and fame as well. Soon, they became well known in Kanto with new support everyday. They were ready for new sets of plans: to witness and speculate new trainers in a competitive setting.

That is how they started to create a way to track progress: The PokéSociety rankings.

    ranked-battle-2.jpg

The members of Brave Warriors! The PokéSociety! started to develop a system where they can speculate how well the newcomers are doing, in terms of things like statistics, developments, and so forth. They sort them out in 'tiers': they all start at the beginning rank, but as they grow stronger and perform better feats, their rank increases. It was like a fan spectacle in a sports event - some members became fans of certain newcomers, even going as far as having some passionate discussions about them. For example, just the other day, a bunch of people arguing over the fact that casey forfeited against Beaumont and what it means for and about him as a trainer. Is he weak? Was this a new stepping turn for him? The developments were exciting to find out and see! For Ichika, she simply hopes to light a fire within her fellow college mates, who walk with her in this world of pokémon. But as of right now, she's not impressed with her classmates. But that might change as The PokéSociety is now in the midst of developing something new: localized tournaments.

Personality: Ichika is honest, straight-forward, and not shy of stating her opinion. No matter if she's liked or disliked for it. After all, she's a strong believer in honesty in words, rather than be superficial. As a trainer she is passionate, strong-willed and open - she likes meeting and learning all about strong trainers, strong pokémon, and complex strategies. She dislikes weakness in people, and as a tendency to judge others if they don't meet her expectations. She's especially strict with her pokémon to meet her expectations, pushing their strengths to their limits, and does not forgive any weakness. She has more of a master-pokémon relationship with her pokémon rather than treating them as simple "friends"( she doesn't even give them nicknames). That's because if she believes that if she just treats them as mere friends, that creates weakness in her mindset to want to coddle them - she felt that just simply "bonding" with pokémon would only turn them into slackers. She's not all cruel though - after all, she also believes that a proper master must be responsible for her pokémon and mature enough to maintain her pokémon's well-being, both physically and mentally. For example, she does let her pokémon go free to play, and do what they please from time to time, but as long as they are well-behaved.

While it may seem that most of the time, Ichika can be seen as impatient and snide, deep down, she wants to see everyone to be confident with themselves to reach their potential. This is more apparent in her blog - she can be shown as overall critical of those who "disappoints her". But Overall, Ichika has one dream: for the pokémon world to be as colourful as a Ho-oh's wings. What does that mean? Only she would know, but perhaps she dreams of a world where everyone can be worthy enough to have a multi-coloured beast rein down on them? Who knows.

    Elliott Summers
    Gender: Male
    Age: 16
    Height: 5'9, 176.50 cm
    Cape College Graduate, Certified Trainer
    Hometown: Cerulean City, Kanto
    Threme:

History: Elliott is the 2nd youngest child and youngest son of the Summers family, whilst being the elder brother to Coralie. The two had always been close due to their immense similarities and sibling bond and spent many of their childhood years playing alongside one another. The two, alongside their close friends, would explore their hometown of Cerulean and sometimes beyond and thus, have strived to be adventurers from the very beginning.

Elliott had no doubt in mind that he wanted to attend cape college. Albeit, he has never been one to overly enjoy structured curriculum, wooden desks, or academia in general. However, he saw it as an opportunity to acquire his trainers' license and to gain important knowledge about pokemon and the expansive world around him. Elliott is an individual who succeeds academically when the subject matter particularly piques his interest, otherwise his grades are quite mundane. He was popular in school for his charm, extraversion, and friendliness.

There is one notable day in which immensely shaped Elliott into who he is as an individual. It was a typical Saturday evening, he was playing with Coralie, Amika, and his best friend, Oscar. It was around the time when they were about to return home as the sun was beginning to set. Dark clouds filled the sky and before long, a massive thunderstorm had erupted, the children being pelted with disorienting raindrops. The group took off running but Elliott ended up separated from the group and sought the shelter of a nearby cavern. Once inside, he took notice of a Heracross who was visibly injured. Elliott, utilizing plants and leaves as bandages, nursed the Heracross to health and stayed in the cavern all night alongside him, whilst the storm raged outside. He was found by his siblings early the next morning, who were alarmed by his failure to return home. Before leaving, Elliott told the Heracross whom he had bonded with, that he would return one day as a trainer and make the pokemon his companion, and the two of them would traverse the world together. This day also was the beginning of his love and appreciation for bug-types and he began to research them shortly afterwards. Elliott would visit the same Heracross from time to time, bring him specialty food, or play with the Heracross alongside his friends.

Elliott kept his word, upon his graduation, he returned to the cave and captured Heracross, who has remained by his side ever since.

Personality: Similarly to his younger sister, Elliott is a lively individual, one with an unmistakable exuberance, and a zest for life. He's a very jolly individual, who relentlessly seeks out adventure. He is confined by no rules, and follows no guidebook. He fervently dances to the beat of his own drum, allowing his spontaneous whims to take full control. He is but a sailboat, utilizing gusts of wind to direct him where to go and is seemingly everywhere and nowhere at once. He is a very carefree individual, one who is always cracking jokes and rarely ever takes life too seriously, unless it is necessary for him to do so. Sometimes his nonchalance leads to disorganization. Elliott would inevitably lose his head if it wasn't screwed on tight. Coralie has famously remarked that her brother's forgetfulness is on par with that of the elderly, which to be fair, is a slight exaggeration at the very least! One difference between them is that Elliott is considerably more cool-headed as compared to his sibling. He isn't so easily flustered and utilizes his experience and natural wit to his advantage. However, he still has much to learn.

His knowledge of bug-types is extraordinary. He enjoys studying them and their patterns of behavior, and has a tattered sketchbook in which he draws bug types he comes across, messily adding notes underneath regarding their characteristics.
Just don't ask him to do your calculus homework, unless, of course, you want to fail.

Hobbies: Sketching, studying bug-types, training with his pokemon, exploring. Elliott thrives outside and perpetually has a suntan even during the winter months, due to his undying love of the outdoors. He also loves a good battle.

Dreams or Aspirations: Elliot desires to be a successful pokemon trainer and to catch a plethora of different pokemon from all corners of the world. Furthermore, he wouldn't mind landing a job alongside a professor or a research team in order to formally study pokemon. Most of all, he just simply desires to have fun above all else

    Special Move Distribution

To return to ideas about allowing Pokémon to be a little more interesting without breaking the hell out of the game, we're gonna do some stuff centered around movesets. As a reminder, an "illegal" move is defined as a move that does not appear anywhere on a Pokémon's Gen 6-9 move tables.

    1. Any player who did not choose to put an illegal move on their starter upon joining the game may allow one of their Pokémon to learn one illegal move.
    2. All players may have one additional Pokémon on their team learn an illegal move.
    3. Each individual Pokémon may learn ONE of its Gen 6-9 level-up moves at a level lower than usual.
    4. Each player may choose a move from a Pokémon's Tutor/TM/Breeding movepool to be learned upon level-up or via dedicated training. This may only be done TWICE per PLAYER.

Valid for 1: Karen and Kiki
Exception to 2: Anna, being that Parsley has Pursuit. Karen, if she would like to keep Play Nice on Sage.
Exception to 3: Bumblebee, who learned Zen Headbutt way too early, and anyone else I unearth when I go looking properly.
Caveat to 4: Anna will only have one use, due to Ginger's Thunder Punch.

Beginning in CHAPTER 11, players may choose up to three things to do from this table per chapter. This goes hand in hand with our characters beginning to refine their teams and find their preferences in strategy.

i'll keep a little tracker somewhere for this idk where yet tho
